Job 18
1 Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said:
Então Bildad, o Shuhite, respondeu,
2 How long will ye lay snares for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.
“Quanto tempo você vai caçar por palavras? Considere, e depois falaremos.
3 Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed dull in your sight?
Por que somos contados como animais, que se tornaram impuros à sua vista?
4 Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, shall the earth be forsaken for thee? Or shall the rock be removed out of its place?
Você que se rasga em sua raiva, a terra será abandonada para você? Ou a rocha será removida de seu lugar?
5 Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.
“Sim, a luz dos ímpios será apagada. A faísca de seu fogo não vai brilhar.
6 The light shall be dark in his tent, and his lamp over him shall be put out.
A luz será escura em sua tenda. Sua lâmpada acima dele será apagada.
7 The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
Os passos de sua força serão encurtados. Seu próprio conselho o abaterá.
8 For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon the toils.
Pois ele é lançado em uma rede por seus próprios pés, e ele vagueia em sua malha.
9 A gin shall take him by the heel, and a snare shall lay hold on him.
Um laço o pegará pelo calcanhar. Uma armadilha vai pegá-lo.
10 A noose is hid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.
Um laço está escondido para ele no chão, uma armadilha para ele no caminho.
11 Terrors shall overwhelm him on every side, and shall entrap him at his feet.
Os terrores o farão ter medo de todos os lados, e o perseguirão em seus calcanhares.
12 His trouble shall be ravenous, and calamity shall be ready for his fall.
Sua força será esfomeada. A calamidade estará pronta a seu lado.
13 It shall devour the members of his body, yea, the first-born of death shall devour his members.
Os membros de seu corpo serão devorados. O primogênito da morte devorará seus membros.
14 That wherein he trusteth shall be plucked out of his tent; and he shall be brought to the king of terrors.
Ele será retirado da segurança de sua tenda. Ele será levado ao rei dos terrores.
15 There shall dwell in his tent that which is none of his; brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
Lá habitará em sua tenda o que não é dele. O enxofre será disperso em sua habitação.
16 His roots shall dry up beneath, and above shall his branch wither.
Suas raízes serão secas por baixo. Seu ramo será cortado acima.
17 His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name abroad.
Sua memória perecerá da terra. Ele não terá nome na rua.
18 He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
Ele será conduzido da luz para a escuridão, e expulsos do mundo.
19 He shall have neither son nor son's son among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.
Ele não terá nem filho nem neto entre seu povo, nem qualquer remanescente onde ele morava.
20 They that come after shall be astonished at his day, as they that went before are affrighted.
Aqueles que vierem depois ficarão surpresos com seu dia, como aqueles que foram antes estavam assustados.
21 Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
Certamente tais são as habitações dos injustos. Este é o lugar daquele que não conhece a Deus”.
