< Job 15 >

1 Then answered Eliphaz the Temanite, and said:
Na Temanni Elifas buae se,
2 Should a wise man make answer with windy knowledge, and fill his belly with the east wind?
“Enti onyansafo de nsɛm a aba biara nni mu beyi nʼano anaasɛ ɔde apuei mframa a emu yɛ hyew bɛhyɛ nʼafuru ma?
3 Should he reason with unprofitable talk, or with speeches wherewith he can do no good?
Ɔde nsɛm huhuw begye akyinnye, aka nsɛm a mfaso biara nni so ana?
4 Yea, thou doest away with fear, and impairest devotion before God.
Wototo onyamesuro ase mmom na wusiw Onyankopɔn som ho kwan.
5 For thine iniquity teacheth thy mouth, and thou choosest the tongue of the crafty.
Wo bɔne kyerɛ wʼano nea ɔnka; na woafa anitew tɛkrɛma.
6 Thine own mouth condemneth thee, and not I; yea, thine own lips testify against thee.
Wʼankasa wʼano bu wo kumfɔ, ɛnyɛ me de; wʼankasa wʼano di adanse tia wo.
7 Art thou the first man that was born? Or wast thou brought forth before the hills?
“Wone onipa a wɔwoo wo dii kan ana? Wɔwoo wo ansa na wɔrewo nkoko ana?
8 Dost thou hearken in the council of God? And dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself?
Wutie Onyankopɔn afotu ana? Wo nko ara na wunim nyansa ana?
9 What knowest thou, that we know not? What understandest thou, which is not in us?
Dɛn na wunim a, yennim? Nhumu bɛn na wowɔ a yenni?
10 With us are both the gray-headed and the very aged men, much older than thy father.
Nea wafuw dwen ne akwakoraa wɔ yɛn afa wɔn a wɔanyinyin sen wʼagya mpo.
11 Are the consolations of God too small for thee, and the word that dealeth gently with thee?
Onyankopɔn awerɛkyekye ne nsɛm a wɔka no brɛoo kyerɛ wo no sua ma wo ana?
12 Why doth thy heart carry thee away? And why do thine eyes wink?
Adɛn nti na wo koma atwe wo akɔ adɛn nti na wʼani asɔ gya,
13 That thou turnest thy spirit against God, and lettest such words go out of thy mouth.
na woadan wʼabufuw agu Onyankopɔn so na woma saa nsɛm yi pue fi wʼano?
14 What is man, that he should be clean? And he that is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
“Ɔdesani ne hena a obetumi ayɛ pɛ, anaasɛ nea ɔbea awo no bɛn na obetumi ayɛ ɔtreneeni?
15 Behold, He putteth no trust in His holy ones; yea, the heavens are not clean in His sight.
Onyankopɔn nni ahotoso wɔ nʼakronkronfo mu ɔsorosoro mpo nyɛ kronkron wɔ nʼani so,
16 How much less one that is abominable and impure, man who drinketh iniquity like water!
na me ne onipa debɔneyɛfo ne omumɔyɛfo a ɔnom bɔne sɛ nsu.
17 I will tell thee, hear thou me; and that which I have seen I will declare —
“Tie me, na mɛkyerɛ wo mu; ma menka nea mahu nkyerɛ wo,
18 Which wise men have told from their fathers, and have not hid it;
nea anyansafo apae mu aka, a wɔamfa biribiara a wonya fii wɔn agyanom hɔ no ansie
19 Unto whom alone the land was given, and no stranger passed among them.
(wɔn nko ara na wɔde asase no maa wɔn bere a ananafo biara nni wɔn mu):
20 The wicked man travaileth with pain all his days, even the number of years that are laid up for the oppressor.
Omumɔyɛfo kɔ ahohia mu, ne nkwanna nyinaa, na basabasayɛni nso, ne mfe a wɔahyehyɛ ama no nyinaa.
21 A sound of terrors is in his ears: in prosperity the destroyer shall come upon him.
Nnyigyei a ɛyɛ hu hyɛ nʼasom ma; na sɛ ɛyɛ sɛ nneɛma rekɔ yiye ma no a, akorɔmfo tow hyɛ ne so.
22 He believeth not that he shall return out of darkness, and he is waited for of the sword.
Ɔpa abaw sɛ obeguan afi sum mu; wɔabɔ no ato hɔ ama afoa.
23 He wandereth abroad for bread: 'Where is it?' He knoweth that the day of darkness is ready at his hand.
Okyinkyin hwehwɛ aduan; onim sɛ sum da no abɛn.
24 Distress and anguish overwhelm him; they prevail against him, as a king ready to the battle.
Ɔhaw ne ahoyeraw yi no hu; ɛhyɛ ne so sɛ ɔhene a wasiesie ne ho ama ɔko,
25 Because he hath stretched out his hand against God, and behaveth himself proudly against the Almighty;
efisɛ ɔteɛteɛ ne nsa kyerɛ Onyankopɔn na ɔma ne ho so tia Otumfo,
26 He runneth upon him with a stiff neck, with the thick bosses of his bucklers.
wɔde nkatabo a mu piw na ɛyɛ den kɔ ne so a, onsuro obiara.
27 Because he hath covered his face with his fatness, and made collops of fat on his loins;
“Ɛwɔ mu sɛ srade ama nʼafono atotɔ na nʼasen mu nam abubu agu so de,
28 And he hath dwelt in desolate cities, in houses which no man would inhabit, which were ready to become heaps.
nanso ɔbɛtena nkurow a agu so na watena afi a obi nte mu, afi a ɛrebubu mu.
29 He shall not be rich, neither shall his substance continue, neither shall their produce bend to the earth.
Ɔrenkɔ so nyɛ ɔdefo bio, na nʼahonya rennyina, na nʼagyapade so bɛtew na ayera wɔ asase so.
30 He shall not depart out of darkness; the flame shall dry up his branches, and by the breath of His mouth shall he go away.
Ɔrenguan sum no; ogyaframa bɛhyew ne mman, na Onyankopɔn anom ahomegu bɛsoa no akɔ.
31 Let him not trust in vanity, deceiving himself; for vanity shall be his recompense.
Ɛnsɛ sɛ ɔde ne ho to nneɛma huhuw so de daadaa ne ho, efisɛ ɔrennya hwee mfi mu.
32 It shall be accomplished before his time, and his branch shall not be leafy.
Ansa na ne da bedu no, wobetua no ka a bi nka, na ne mman renyɛ frɔmfrɔm.
33 He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, and shall cast off his flower as the olive.
Ɔbɛyɛ sɛ bobedua a wɔaporow so aba a ennyin ɛ, te sɛ ngodua a ne nhwiren reporow gu fam.
34 For the company of the godless shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tents of bribery.
Na abɔnefo fekuw a wonnim Onyankopɔn no rensow aba, na ogya bɛhyew wɔn a wɔdɔ kɛtɛasehyɛ no ntamadan.
35 They conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity, and their belly prepareth deceit.
Wonyinsɛn ɔhaw na wɔwo bɔne; wɔn awotwaa siesie nnaadaa.”
