Job 12
1 Then Job answered and said:
੧ਤਦ ਅੱਯੂਬ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ,
2 No doubt but ye are the people, and wisdom shall die with you.
੨“ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਹੋ, ਕਿ ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਰੋਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ!
3 But I have understanding as well as you; I am not inferior to you; yea, who knoweth not such things as these?
੩ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਸਮਝ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕੁਝ ਘੱਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਅਜਿਹੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ?
4 I am as one that is a laughing-stock to his neighbour, a man that called upon God, and He answered him; the just, the innocent man is a laughing-stock,
੪“ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿੱਤਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਹਾਸੇ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਮੈਂ ਜੋ ਧਰਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਖਰਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ, ਹੁਣ ਹਾਸੇ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਨ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
5 A contemptible brand in the thought of him that is at ease, a thing ready for them whose foot slippeth.
੫ਦੁਖੀ ਲੋਕ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਖੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁੱਛ ਹਨ, ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੈਰ ਤਿਲਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
6 The tents of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure, in whatsoever God bringeth into their hand.
੬ਲੁਟੇਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਤੰਬੂ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਭੜਕਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਅਤ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
7 But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee;
੭“ਪਰੰਤੂ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਛ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਉਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੰਛੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ, ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਣਗੇ,
8 Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee; and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee;
੮ਜਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇ, ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਵੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੱਛੀਆਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਨਗੀਆਂ!
9 Who knoweth not among all these, that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
੯ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੌਣ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ, ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ?
10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind. —
੧੦ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰੇਕ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਵੀ।
11 Doth not the ear try words, even as the palate tasteth its food?
੧੧ਭਲਾ, ਕੰਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤਾਲੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਖਾਣੇ ਦਾ ਸੁਆਦ ਚੱਖ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ?
12 Is wisdom with aged men, and understanding in length of days? —
੧੨ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁੱਧੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਲੰਮੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਮਝ ਹੈ।
13 With Him is wisdom and might; He hath counsel and understanding.
੧੩“ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਸਲਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਹੈ।
14 Behold, He breaketh down, and it cannot be built again; He shutteth up a man, and there can be no opening.
੧੪ਵੇਖੋ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਢਾਹ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ, ਜਿਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਬੰਧਨ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ।
15 Behold, He withholdeth the waters, and they dry up; also He sendeth them out, and they overturn the earth.
੧੫ਵੇਖੋ, ਜਦ ਉਹ ਮੀਂਹ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਸੋਕਾ ਪੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਘੱਲਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਉਹ ਧਰਤੀ ਉਲੱਦ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
16 With Him is strength and sound wisdom; the deceived and the deceiver are His.
੧੬ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਹੈ, ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਧੋਖਾ ਖਾਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਹਨ।
17 He leadeth counsellors away stripped, and judges maketh He fools.
੧੭ਜੋ ਦਰਬਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਤੁਰਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੂਰਖ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
18 He looseth the bond of kings, and bindeth their loins with a girdle.
੧੮ਉਹ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਏ ਹੋਏ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੱਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਧਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
19 He leadeth priests away stripped, and overthroweth the mighty.
੧੯ਉਹ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨੰਗੇ ਪੈਰੀਂ ਗੁਲਾਮੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤਕੜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਲਟਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
20 He removeth the speech of men of trust, and taketh away the sense of the elders.
੨੦ਉਹ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਿਬੇਕ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
21 He poureth contempt upon princes, and looseth the belt of the strong.
੨੧ਉਹ ਪਤਵੰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਪਮਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰਾਵਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਮਰਬੰਦ ਢਿੱਲਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ।
22 He uncovereth deep things out of darkness, and bringeth out to light the shadow of death.
੨੨ਉਹ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਡੂੰਘੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੌਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਯੇ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਨਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ।
23 He increaseth the nations, and destroyeth them; He enlargeth the nations, and leadeth them away.
੨੩ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਫੈਲਾਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋੜ ਲੈ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ,
24 He taketh away the heart of the chiefs of the people of the land, and causeth them to wander in a wilderness where there is no way.
੨੪ਉਹ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਮਝ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੰਨੇ ਥਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਟਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਰਾਹ ਨਹੀਂ।
25 They grope in the dark without light, and He maketh them to stagger like a drunken man.
੨੫ਉਹ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਾਨਣ ਤੋਂ ਟੋਹੰਦੇ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਾਬੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਭਟਕਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ!”
