Jeremiah 47
1 The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines, before that Pharaoh smote Gaza.
Слово Господнє, що було пророкові Єремії на филисти́млян, перше як фараон побив Аззу.
2 Thus saith the LORD: Behold, waters rise up out of the north, and shall become an overflowing stream, and they shall overflow the land and all that is therein, the city and them that dwell therein; and the men shall cry, and all the inhabitants of the land shall wail.
„Так говорить Госпо́дь: Ось підіймаються во́ди із пі́вночі, і стануть вони за поті́к заливни́й, і заллю́ть вони землю та все, що на ній, місто й заме́шкалих в ньому, — і буде кричати люди́на, і кожен мешка́нець землі заголо́сить.
3 At the noise of the stamping of the hoofs of his strong ones, at the rushing of his chariots, at the rumbling of his wheels, the fathers look not back to their children for feebleness of hands;
Через гук тупоті́ння копи́т баских ко́ней його, через гу́ркіт його колесниць, через скрип його кіл не зверну́лись батьки́ до синів, бо зомлі́ли їм руки,
4 Because of the day that cometh to spoil all the Philistines, to cut off from Tyre and Zidon every helper that remaineth; for the LORD will spoil the Philistines, the remnant of the isle of Caphtor.
бо настав це той день, щоб понищити всіх филисти́млян, щоб Ти́ру й Сидо́нові ви́губити помічну́ всяку рештку. Бо понищить Господь филисти́млян, рештку о́строва Кафтора,
5 Baldness is come upon Gaza, Ashkelon is brought to nought, the remnant of their valley; how long wilt thou cut thyself?
шолуди́вою стане Азза́, згине Ашкело́н, решта долини їхньої. Як довго ти будеш нарі́зи робити собі у жало́бі?
6 O thou sword of the LORD, how long will it be ere thou be quiet? Put up thyself into thy scabbard, rest, and be still.
О ме́чу Господній, аж доки ти не заспоко́їшся? Вернися до пі́хви своєї, заспоко́йся й замо́вкни!
7 How canst thou be quiet? for the LORD hath given it a charge; against Ashkelon, and against the sea-shore, there hath He appointed it.
Але як заспоко́їться він, коли наказав йому це Сам Господь? До Ашкелону й до берегу моря, — туди Він призна́чив його!“
