Jeremiah 25
1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
Ο λόγος ο γενόμενος προς τον Ιερεμίαν περί παντός του λαού του Ιούδα εν τω τετάρτω έτει του Ιωακείμ υιού του Ιωσίου, βασιλέως τον Ιούδα, το οποίον ήτο το πρώτον έτος του Ναβουχοδονόσορ, βασιλέως της Βαβυλώνος·
2 which Jeremiah the prophet spoke unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:
τον οποίον Ιερεμίας ο προφήτης ελάλησε προς πάντα τον λαόν του Ιούδα και προς πάντας τους κατοίκους της Ιερουσαλήμ, λέγων,
3 From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, even unto this day, these three and twenty years, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, speaking betimes and often; but ye have not hearkened.
Από του δεκάτου τρίτου έτους του Ιωσίου· υιού του Αμών, βασιλέως του Ιούδα, έως της ημέρας ταύτης, ήτις είναι το εικοστόν τρίτον έτος, ο λόγος του Κυρίου έγεινε προς εμέ και ελάλησα προς εσάς, εγειρόμενος πρωΐ και λαλών· και δεν ηκούσατε.
4 And the LORD hath sent unto you all His servants the prophets, sending them betimes and often — but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear —
Και απέστειλε Κύριος προς εσάς πάντας τους δούλους αυτού τους προφήτας, εγειρόμενος πρωΐ και αποστέλλων· και δεν ηκούσατε ουδέ εκλίνατε το ωτίον σας διά να ακροασθήτε.
5 saying: 'Return ye now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers, for ever and ever;
Οίτινες είπον, Στράφητε τώρα έκαστος από της οδού αυτού της πονηράς και από της κακίας των έργων σας, και κατοικήσατε επί της γης, την οποίαν ο Κύριος έδωκεν εις εσάς και εις τους πατέρας σας εις τον αιώνα του αιώνος·
6 and go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke Me not with the work of your hands, and I will do you no hurt.'
και μη πορεύεσθε οπίσω άλλων θεών, διά να λατρεύητε και να προσκυνήτε αυτούς, και μη με παροργίζετε με τα έργα των χειρών σας και δεν θέλω σας κάμει κακόν.
7 Yet ye have not hearkened unto Me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke Me with the work of your hands to your own hurt.
Αλλά δεν μου ηκούσατε, λέγει Κύριος· διά να με παροργίσητε με τα έργα των χειρών σας προς κακόν σας.
8 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts: Because ye have not heard My words,
Διά τούτο ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· Επειδή δεν ηκούσατε τους λόγους μου,
9 behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and I will send unto Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, My servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about; and I will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.
ιδού, εγώ θέλω αποστείλει και λάβει πάσας τας οικογενείας του βορρά, λέγει Κύριος, και τον Ναβουχοδονόσορ βασιλέα της Βαβυλώνος· τον δούλον μου, και θέλω φέρει αυτούς επί την γην ταύτην και επί τους κατοίκους αυτής και επί πάντα ταύτα τα έθνη κύκλω, και θέλω εξολοθρεύσει αυτούς και καταστήσει αυτούς έκπληξιν και ερημώσεις αιωνίους.
10 Moreover I will cause to cease from among them the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the lamp.
Και θέλω αφαιρέσει απ' αυτών την φωνήν της χαράς και την φωνήν της ευφροσύνης, την φωνήν του νυμφίου και την φωνήν της νύμφης, τον ήχον των μυλοπετρών και το φως του λύχνου.
11 And this whole land shall be a desolation, and a waste; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
Και πάσα αύτη η γη θέλει είσθαι εις ερήμωσιν και θάμβος, και τα έθνη ταύτα θέλουσι δουλεύσει τον βασιλέα της Βαβυλώνος εβδομήκοντα έτη.
12 And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans; and I will make it perpetual desolations.
Και όταν συμπληρωθώσι τα εβδομήκοντα έτη, θέλω ανταποδώσει επί τον βασιλέα της Βαβυλώνος και επί το έθνος εκείνο, λέγει Κύριος, την ανομίαν αυτών, και επί την γην των Χαλδαίων, και θέλω καταστήσει αυτήν ερήμωσιν αιώνιον.
13 And I will bring upon that land all My words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
Και θέλω φέρει επί την γην εκείνην πάντας τους λόγους μου, τους οποίους ελάλησα κατ' αυτής, άπαν το γεγραμμένον εν τω βιβλίω τούτω, το οποίον ο Ιερεμίας προεφήτευσε κατά πάντων των εθνών.
14 For many nations and great kings shall make bondmen of them also; and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the work of their own hands.
Διότι έθνη πολλά και βασιλείς μεγάλοι θέλουσι καταδουλώσει και αυτούς· και θέλω ανταποδώσει εις αυτούς κατά τας πράξεις αυτών και κατά τα έργα των χειρών αυτών.
15 For thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto me: Take this cup of the wine of fury at My hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
Διότι ούτω λέγει προς εμέ Κύριος ο Θεός του Ισραήλ, Λάβε το ποτήριον τούτο του οίνου του θυμού μου εκ της χειρός μου και πότισον εξ αυτού πάντα τα έθνη, προς τα οποία εγώ σε αποστέλλω·
16 And they shall drink, and reel to and fro, and be like madmen, because of the sword that I will send among them. —
και θέλουσι πίει και θέλουσι ταραχθή και παραφρονήσει εξ αιτίας της μαχαίρας, την οποίαν εγώ θέλω αποστείλει εν μέσω αυτών.
17 Then took I the cup of the LORD'S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:
Τότε έλαβον το ποτήριον εκ της χειρός του Κυρίου και επότισα πάντα τα έθνη, προς τα οποία ο Κύριος με απέστειλε·
18 Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them an appalment, an astonishment, a hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
την Ιερουσαλήμ και τας πόλεις του Ιούδα και τους βασιλείς αυτού και τους μεγιστάνας αυτού, διά να καταστήσω αυτούς ερήμωσιν, θάμβος, συριγμόν και κατάραν, καθώς την ημέραν ταύτην·
19 Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
τον Φαραώ βασιλέα της Αιγύπτου και τους δούλους αυτού και τους μεγιστάνας αυτού και άπαντα τον λαόν αυτού,
20 and all the mingled people; and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Gaza, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod;
και πάντα τον σύμμικτον λαόν και πάντας τους βασιλείς της γης Ουζ και πάντας τους βασιλείς της γης των Φιλισταίων και την Ασκάλωνα και την Γάζαν και την Ακκαρών και το υπόλοιπον της Αζώτου,
21 Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon;
τον Εδώμ και τον Μωάβ και τους υιούς Αμμών,
22 and all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isle which is beyond the sea;
και πάντας τους βασιλείς της Τύρου και πάντας τους βασιλείς της Σιδώνος και τους βασιλείς των νήσων των πέραν της θαλάσσης,
23 Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that have the corners of their hair polled;
την Δαιδάν και την Θαιμά και την Βουζ και πάντας τους περικείροντας την κόμην·
24 and all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the wilderness;
και πάντας τους βασιλείς της Αραβίας και πάντας τους βασιλείς των συμμίκτων λαών των κατοικούντων εν τη ερήμω,
25 and all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes;
και πάντας τους βασιλείς της Ζιμβρί και πάντας τους βασιλείς της Ελάμ και πάντας τους βασιλείς των Μήδων,
26 and all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another; and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth. — And the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
και πάντας τους βασιλείς του βορρά τους μακράν και τους εγγύς, ένα μετά του άλλου, και πάντα τα βασίλεια της οικουμένης, τα επί προσώπου της γής· και ο βασιλεύς της Σησάχ θέλει πίει μετ' αυτούς.
27 And thou shalt say unto them: Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Drink ye, and be drunken, and spew, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
Διά τούτο θέλεις ειπεί προς αυτούς, Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων, ο Θεός του Ισραήλ· Πίετε και μεθύσατε και εμέσατε και πέσετε και μη σηκωθήτε, εξ αιτίας της μαχαίρας, την οποίαν εγώ θέλω αποστείλει εν μέσω υμών.
28 And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thy hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them: Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Ye shall surely drink.
Και εάν δεν θελήσωσι να λάβωσι το ποτήριον εκ της χειρός σου διά να πίωσι, τότε θέλεις ειπεί προς αυτούς, Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· Εξάπαντος θέλετε πίει.
29 For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city whereupon My name is called, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished; for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
Διότι ιδού, ενώ εγώ επί την πόλιν, επί της οποίας εκλήθη το όνομά μου, αρχίζω να φέρω κακόν, σεις θέλετε μείνει λοιπόν ατιμώρητοι; δεν θέλετε μείνει ατιμώρητοι, διότι εγώ θέλω καλέσει μάχαιραν επί πάντας τους κατοίκους της γης, λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων.
30 Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them: The LORD doth roar from on high, and utter His voice from His holy habitation; He doth mightily roar because of His fold; He giveth a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
Διά τούτο, συ προφήτευσον κατ' αυτών πάντας τους λόγους τούτους και ειπέ προς αυτούς, Ο Κύριος θέλει βρυχήσει εξ ύψους και εκπέμψει την φωνήν αυτού από της κατοικίας της αγιότητος αυτού· θέλει βρυχήσει δυνατά επί της κατοικίας αυτού· θέλει βοήσει ως οι ληνοπατούντες κατά πάντων των κατοίκων της γης.
31 A noise is come even to the end of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, He doth plead with all flesh; as for the wicked, He hath given them to the sword, saith the LORD.
Θόρυβος θέλει φθάσει έως των περάτων της γής· διότι ο Κύριος έχει κρίσιν μετά των εθνών· αυτός διαδικάζεται μετά πάσης σαρκός· θέλει παραδώσει τους ασεβείς εις μάχαιραν, λέγει Κύριος.
32 Thus saith the LORD of hosts: Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great storm shall be raised up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
Ούτω λέγει ο Κύριος των δυνάμεων· Ιδού, κακόν θέλει εξέλθει από έθνους εις έθνος και ανεμοστρόβιλος μέγας θέλει εγερθή εκ των άκρων της γης.
33 And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the face of the ground.
Και εν εκείνη τη ημέρα θέλουσι κοίτεσθαι τεθανατωμένοι παρά Κυρίου απ' άκρου της γης έως άκρου της γής· δεν θέλουσι θρηνολογηθή ουδέ συναχθή ουδέ ταφή· θέλουσιν είσθαι διά κοπρίαν επί της επιφανείας της γης.
34 Wail, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the dust, ye leaders of the flock; for the days of your slaughter are fully come, and I will break you in pieces, and ye shall fall like a precious vessel.
Ολολύξατε, ποιμένες, και αναβοήσατε· και κυλίσθητε εις το χώμα, οι έγκριτοι του ποιμνίου· διότι επληρώθησαν αι ημέραι σας διά την σφαγήν και διά τον σκορπισμόν σας, και θέλετε πέσει ως σκεύος εκλεκτόν.
35 And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the leaders of the flock to escape.
Και θέλει λείψει η φυγή από των ποιμένων και η σωτηρία από των εγκρίτων του ποιμνίου.
36 Hark! the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the leaders of the flock! For the LORD despoileth their pasture.
Φωνή κραυγής των ποιμένων και ολολυγμός των εγκρίτων του ποιμνίου· διότι ο Κύριος ηφάνισε την βοσκήν αυτών.
37 And the peaceable folds are brought to silence because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
Και αι ειρηνικαί κατοικίαι κατηδαφίσθησαν εξ αιτίας της φλογεράς οργής του Κυρίου.
38 He hath forsaken His covert, as the lion; for their land is become a waste because of the fierceness of the oppressing sword, and because of His fierce anger.
Κατέλιπε το κατοικητήριον αυτού ως ο λέων, διότι η γη αυτών κατεστάθη έρημος εξ αιτίας της αγριότητος του καταδυναστεύοντος και εξ αιτίας του θυμού της οργής αυτού.
