Jeremiah 13
1 Thus said the LORD unto me: 'Go, and get thee a linen girdle, and put it upon thy loins, and put it not in water.'
Ούτως είπε Κύριος προς εμέ· Ύπαγε και απόκτησον εις σεαυτόν ζώνην λινήν και περίβαλε αυτήν επί την οσφύν σου και εις ύδωρ μη βάλης αυτήν.
2 So I got a girdle according to the word of the LORD, and put it upon my loins.
Απέκτησα λοιπόν την ζώνην κατά τον λόγον του Κυρίου και περιέβαλον επί την οσφύν μου.
3 And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying:
Και έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς εμέ εκ δευτέρου, λέγων,
4 'Take the girdle that thou hast gotten, which is upon thy loins, and arise, go to Perath, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock.'
Λάβε την ζώνην την οποίαν απέκτησας, την επί την οσφύν σου, και σηκωθείς ύπαγε εις τον Ευφράτην και κρύψον αυτήν εκεί εν τη οπή του βράχου.
5 So I went, and hid it in Perath, as the LORD commanded me.
Υπήγα λοιπόν και έκρυψα αυτήν πλησίον του Ευφράτου, καθώς προσέταξεν εις εμέ ο Κύριος.
6 And it came to pass after many days, that the LORD said unto me: 'Arise, go to Perath, and take the girdle from thence, which I commanded thee to hide there.'
Και μετά πολλάς ημέρας είπε Κύριος προς εμέ, Σηκωθείς ύπαγε εις τον Ευφράτην και λάβε εκείθεν την ζώνην, την οποίαν προσέταξα εις σε να κρύψης εκεί.
7 Then I went to Perath, and digged, and took the girdle from the place where I had hid it; and, behold, the girdle was marred, it was profitable for nothing.
Και υπήγα εις τον Ευφράτην και έσκαψα και έλαβον την ζώνην εκ του τόπου όπου έκρυψα αυτήν· και ιδού, η ζώνη ήτο εφθαρμένη, δεν ήτο χρήσιμος εις ουδέν.
8 Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
Τότε έγεινε λόγος Κυρίου προς εμέ, λέγων,
9 Thus saith the LORD: After this manner will I mar the pride of Judah, and the great pride of Jerusalem,
Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· κατά τούτον τον τρόπον θέλω φθείρει την υπερηφανίαν του Ιούδα και την μεγάλην υπερηφανίαν της Ιερουσαλήμ.
10 even this evil people, that refuse to hear My words, that walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and are gone after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, that it be as this girdle, which is profitable for nothing.
Ο κακός ούτος λαός, οίτινες αρνούνται το να υπακούωσιν εις τους λόγους μου, και περιπατούσιν εν ταις ορέξεσι της καρδίας αυτών και υπάγουσιν οπίσω άλλων θεών, διά να λατρεύωσιν αυτούς και να προσκυνώσιν αυτούς, θέλει είσθαι εξάπαντος ως η ζώνη αύτη, ήτις δεν είναι χρήσιμος εις ουδέν.
11 For as the girdle cleaveth to the loins of a man, so have I caused to cleave unto Me the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah, saith the LORD, that they might be unto Me for a people, and for a name, and for a praise, and for a glory; but they would not hearken.
Διότι καθώς η ζώνη κολλάται εις την οσφύν του ανθρώπου, ούτως εκόλλησα εις εμαυτόν πάντα τον οίκον Ισραήλ και πάντα τον οίκον Ιούδα, λέγει Κύριος· διά να ήναι εις εμέ λαός και όνομα και καύχημα και δόξα· αλλά δεν υπήκουσαν.
12 Moreover thou shalt speak unto them this word: Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: 'Every bottle is filled with wine'; and when they shall say unto thee: 'Do we not know that every bottle is filled with wine?'
Διά τούτο θέλεις λαλήσει προς αυτούς τον λόγον τούτον· Ούτω λέγει Κύριος ο Θεός του Ισραήλ· πας ασκός θέλει γεμισθή οίνου· και αυτοί θέλουσιν ειπεί προς σε, Μήπως τωόντι δεν γνωρίζομεν ότι πας ασκός θέλει γεμισθή οίνου;
13 Then shalt thou say unto them: Thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will fill all the inhabitants of this land, even the kings that sit upon David's throne, and the priests, and the prophets, and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, with drunkenness.
Τότε θέλεις ειπεί προς αυτούς, Ούτω λέγει Κύριος· Ιδού, θέλω γεμίσει πάντας τους κατοίκους της γης ταύτης και τους βασιλείς τους καθημένους επί τον θρόνον του Δαβίδ και τους ιερείς και τους προφήτας και πάντας τους κατοίκους της Ιερουσαλήμ, από μεθυσμού.
14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD; I will not pity, nor spare, nor have compassion, that I should not destroy them.
Και θέλω συντρίψει αυτούς μετ' αλλήλων, και τους πατέρας και τους υιούς ομού, λέγει Κύριος· δεν θέλω σπλαγχνισθή ουδέ φεισθή ουδέ ελεήσει, αλλά θέλω εξολοθρεύσει αυτούς.
15 Hear ye, and give ear, be not proud; for the LORD hath spoken.
Ακούσατε και ακροάσθητε· μη επαίρεσθε· διότι ο Κύριος ελάλησε.
16 Give glory to the LORD your God, before it grow dark, and before your feet stumble upon the mountains of twilight, and, while ye look for light, He turn it into the shadow of death, and make it gross darkness.
Δότε δόξαν εις Κύριον τον Θεόν υμών, πριν φέρη σκότος και πριν οι πόδες σας προσκόψωσιν επί τα σκοτεινά όρη, και ενώ προσμένετε φως, μετατρέψη αυτό εις σκιάν θανάτου και καταστήση αυτό πυκνόν σκότος.
17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret for your pride; and mine eyes shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD'S flock is carried away captive.
Αλλ' εάν δεν ακούσητε τούτο, η ψυχή μου θέλει κλαύσει κρυφίως διά την υπερηφανίαν υμών, και ο οφθαλμός μου θέλει κλαύσει πικρά και καταρρεύσει δάκρυα, διότι το ποίμνιον του Κυρίου φέρεται εις αιχμαλωσίαν.
18 Say thou unto the king and to the queen-mother: 'Sit ye down low; for your headtires are come down, even your beautiful crown.'
Είπατε προς τον βασιλέα και προς την βασίλισσαν, Ταπεινώθητε, καθήσατε· διότι θέλει καταβιβασθή από των κεφαλών υμών ο στέφανος της δόξης υμών.
19 The cities of the South are shut up, and there is none to open them; Judah is carried away captive all of it; it is wholly carried away captive.
Αι πόλεις του νότου θέλουσι κλεισθή και δεν θέλει είσθαι ο ανοίγων· ο Ιούδας άπας θέλει φερθή εις αιχμαλωσίαν, ολοκλήρως θέλει φερθή αιχμάλωτος.
20 Lift up your eyes, and behold them that come from the north; where is the flock that was given thee, thy beautiful flock?
Υψώσατε τους οφθαλμούς υμών και θεωρήσατε τους ερχομένους από βορρά· που είναι το ποίμνιον το δοθέν εις σε, τα ώραίά σου πρόβατα;
21 What wilt thou say, when He shall set the friends over thee as head, whom thou thyself hast trained against thee? Shall not pangs take hold of thee, as of a woman in travail?
Τι θέλεις ειπεί, όταν σε επισκεφθή; διότι συ εδίδαξας αυτούς να άρχωσιν επί σου ως ηγεμόνες· δεν θέλουσι σε συλλάβει πόνοι, ως γυναίκα τίκτουσαν;
22 And if thou say in thy heart: 'Wherefore are these things befallen me?' — for the greatness of thine iniquity are thy skirts uncovered, and thy heels suffer violence.
Και εάν είπης εν τη καρδία σου, Διά τι συνέβησαν εις εμέ ταύτα; διά το πλήθος της ανομίας σου εσηκώθησαν τα κράσπεδά σου και εγυμνώθησαν αι πτέρναι σου.
23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin, or the leopard his spots? Then may ye also do good, that are accustomed to do evil.
Δύναται ο Αιθίοψ να αλλάξη το δέρμα αυτού ή η πάρδαλις τα ποικίλματα αυτής; τότε δύνασθε και σεις να κάμητε καλόν, οι μαθόντες το κακόν.
24 Therefore will I scatter them, as the stubble that passeth away by the wind of the wilderness.
Διά τούτο θέλω σκορπίσει αυτούς ως άχυρον φερόμενον υπό ανέμου της ερήμου.
25 This is thy lot, the portion measured unto thee from Me, saith the LORD; because thou hast forgotten Me, and trusted in falsehood.
Ούτος είναι παρ' εμού ο κλήρός σου, το μερίδιον το μεμετρημένον εις σε, λέγει Κύριος· διότι με ελησμόνησας και ήλπισας επί το ψεύδος.
26 Therefore will I also uncover thy skirts upon thy face, and thy shame shall appear.
Διά τούτο και εγώ θέλω σηκώσει τα κράσπεδά σου επί το πρόσωπόν σου, και θέλει φανή η αισχύνη σου.
27 Thine adulteries, and thy neighings, the lewdness of thy harlotry, on the hills in the field have I seen thy detestable acts. Woe unto thee, O Jerusalem! thou wilt not be made clean! When shall it ever be?
Είδον τας μοιχείας σου και τους χρεμετισμούς σου, την αισχρότητα της πορνείας σου, τα βδελύγματά σου επί τους λόφους, επί τας πεδιάδας. Ουαί εις σε, Ιερουσαλήμ δεν θέλεις καθαρισθή; μετά, πότε έτι;
