Jeremiah 11
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying:
೧ಯೆಹೋವನು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನಿಗೆ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿದನು,
2 'Hear ye the words of this covenant, and speak unto the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
೨“ಈ ನಿಬಂಧನವಚನಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಹಾಗೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೂ,
3 and say thou unto them: Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: Cursed be the man that heareth not the words of this covenant,
೩ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಇಂತೆನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ, ‘ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿಧಿಸಿದ ನಿಬಂಧನ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದವನು ಶಾಪಗ್ರಸ್ತನಾಗಲಿ.
4 which I commanded your fathers in the day that I brought them forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying: Hearken to My voice, and do them, according to all which I command you; so shall ye be My people, and I will be your God;
೪ಕಬ್ಬಿಣ ಕರಗಿಸುವ ಕುಲುಮೆಯೋಪಾದಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡಿದಾಗ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ, ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ವಿಧಿಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೈಕೊಂಡರೆ ನೀವು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯಾಗಿರುವಿರಿ, ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾಗಿರುವೆನು.
5 that I may establish the oath which I swore unto your fathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as at this day.' Then answered I, and said: 'Amen, O LORD.'
೫ನಾನು ಹಾಲೂ ಮತ್ತು ಜೇನೂ ಹರಿಯುವ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವುದಾಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ವಾಗ್ದಾನವನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವೆನು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದೆನಷ್ಟೆ. ಆ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತು ಈಗ ಕೈಗೂಡಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಸಾರಬೇಕು ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ನಾನು, “ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯಂತಾಗಲಿ, ಯೆಹೋವನೇ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟೆನು.
6 And the LORD said unto me: 'Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them.
೬ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬೀದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಾರು, ‘ಈ ನಿಬಂಧನ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೇಳಿ ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.
7 For I earnestly forewarned your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, forewarning betimes and often, saying: Hearken to My voice.
೭ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರನ್ನು ಐಗುಪ್ತ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ ದಿನದಿಂದ ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ನಾನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ ಎಂದು ತಡ ಮಾಡದೆ ಖಂಡಿತವಾಗಿ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದೆನಷ್ಟೆ.
8 Yet they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the stubbornness of their evil heart; therefore I brought upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they did them not.'
೮ಅವರಾದರೋ ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಕಿವಿಗೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನೂ ತನ್ನ ತನ್ನ ದುಷ್ಟಹೃದಯದ ಹಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಹಾಗೆ ನಡೆದನು; ಆದಕಾರಣ ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಾನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದರೂ ಅವರು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳದ ಈ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಯ ಶಾಪಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದೆನು’” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
9 And the LORD said unto me: 'A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
೯ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಒಳಸಂಚು ಕಂಡು ಬಂದಿದೆ.
10 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, who refused to hear My words; and they are gone after other gods to serve them; the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken My covenant which I made with their fathers.
೧೦ನನ್ನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳದಿದ್ದ ತಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು, ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ ಪೂಜಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ವಂಶದವರೂ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದ ವಂಶದವರೂ ನಾನು ಅವರ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮೀರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
11 Therefore thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto Me, I will not hearken unto them.
೧೧ಆದಕಾರಣ ಯೆಹೋವನೆಂಬ ನಾನು ಹೀಗೆನ್ನುತ್ತೇನೆ, ‘ಇಗೋ, ಅವರು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾರದ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನು; ನನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಟ್ಟರೂ ಕೇಳೆನು.
12 Then shall the cities of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem go and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer; but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble.
೧೨ಆಗ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳವರೂ ಹಾಗು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳೂ ಯಾವ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಮಮಾಡಿದರೋ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೊರೆಹೊಕ್ಕಿ ಕೂಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು, ಆದರೆ ಅಂಥ ಕೇಡಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಮಾತ್ರವೂ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.’
13 For according to the number of thy cities are thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to the shameful thing, even altars to offer unto Baal.
೧೩ಯೆಹೂದದವರೇ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳೆಷ್ಟೋ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳೂ ಅಷ್ಟು. ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಬೀದಿಗಳೆಷ್ಟೋ ತುಚ್ಛ ದೇವತೆಯಾದ ಬಾಳನಿಗೆ ಹೋಮ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೀವು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಬಲಿಪೀಠಗಳೂ ಅಷ್ಟು.
14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them; for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto Me for their trouble.'
೧೪ಆದಕಾರಣ ಈ ಜನರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಬೇಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ, ಇವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡಬೇಡ, ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಲೂ ಬೇಡ. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೇಡಿನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ನನಗೆ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವಾಗ ನಾನು ಕೇಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
15 What hath My beloved to do in My house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the hallowed flesh is passed from thee? When thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest.
೧೫ನನ್ನ ಆಪ್ತಜನವು ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸಹ್ಯ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇಕೆ? ವ್ರತಗಳೂ, ಮೀಸಲಿನ ಮಾಂಸವೂ ನಿನ್ನ ದುಷ್ಟತನವನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸುವುದೋ? ಇಂಥವುಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೆಯಾ?
16 The LORD called thy name a leafy olive-tree, fair with goodly fruit; with the noise of a great tumult He hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken.
೧೬ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಸುಂದರವಾದ ಫಲದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದ ಹಸಿರಾದ ಒಲೀವ್ ಮರವೆಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಆ ಮರಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಹಚ್ಚಿ ಬಲು ಧಗಧಗಿಸುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಅದರ ರೆಂಬೆಗಳು ಮುರಿದುಹೋಗಿವೆ.
17 For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, because of the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have wrought for themselves in provoking Me by offering unto Baal.
೧೭ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ವಂಶವೂ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆಹೂದ ವಂಶವೂ ಬಾಳನಿಗೆ ಹೋಮವನ್ನರ್ಪಿಸಿ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೆಣಕಿ ತಮಗೆ ಕೆಡುಕನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು, “ನಿನಗೆ ಕೆಡುಕಾಗಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಶಪಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
18 And the LORD gave me knowledge of it, and I knew it; then Thou showedst me their doings.
೧೮ಯೆಹೋವನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರ ಕುತಂತ್ರವು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಯಿತು; ಆಗಲೇ ಅವರ ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ತೋರಿಸಿದಿ.
19 But I was like a docile lamb that is led to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me: 'Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.'
೧೯ನಾನಾದರೋ ವಧೆಗೆ ಒಯ್ಯುವ ಸಾಧು ಕುರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು. “ಮರವನ್ನು ಫಲಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ನಾಶಪಡಿಸೋಣ, ಇವನು ನಿರ್ನಾಮವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಜೀವಲೋಕದಿಂದ ಇವನನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮೂಲಮಾಡೋಣ” ಎಂದು ಅವರು ನನಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿದ್ದು ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.
20 But, O LORD of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see Thy vengeance on them; for unto Thee have I revealed my cause.
೨೦ಹೃದಯವನ್ನೂ, ಅಂತರಿಂದ್ರಿಯವನ್ನೂ ಪರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ನ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡುವ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನೀನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕಾಣುವೆನು; ನನ್ನ ವ್ಯಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೇ ಅರಿಕೆಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನಷ್ಟೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದೆನು.
21 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying: 'Thou shalt not prophesy in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand';
೨೧ಹೀಗಿರಲು ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನನಗೆ, “ನಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ನೀನು ಸಾಯಬಾರದೆಂದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಹೆಸರೆತ್ತಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸಬೇಡ ಎಂದು ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಾಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕುತ್ತಿರುವ ಅನಾತೋತಿನವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನನ್ನ ತೀರ್ಮಾನವು ಇದೇ.
22 therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts: Behold, I will punish them; the young men shall die by the sword, their sons and their daughters shall die by famine;
೨೨ಇಗೋ, ಅವರನ್ನು ದಂಡಿಸುವೆನು, ಯೌವನಸ್ಥರು ಖಡ್ಗದಿಂದ ನಾಶವಾಗುವರು. ಅವರ ಗಂಡು ಮತ್ತು ಹೆಣ್ಣುಮಕ್ಕಳು ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದ ಸಾಯುವರು.
23 And there shall be no remnant unto them; for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.
೨೩ದಂಡನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನಾತೋತಿನವರಿಗೆ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವೆನು, ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾರೂ ಉಳಿಯರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
