Isaiah 61
1 The spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to bring good tidings unto the humble; He hath sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the eyes to them that are bound;
Der Geist des Herrn, Jehovas, ist auf mir, weil Jehova mich gesalbt hat, um den Sanftmütigen frohe Botschaft zu bringen, weil er mich gesandt hat, um zu verbinden, die zerbrochenen Herzens sind, Freiheit auszurufen den Gefangenen, und Öffnung des Kerkers den Gebundenen;
2 To proclaim the year of the LORD'S good pleasure, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
um auszurufen das Jahr der Annehmung [O. der Huld; eig. der Betätigung des Wohlgefallens] Jehovas und den Tag der Rache unseres Gottes und zu trösten alle Trauernden;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them a garland for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the mantle of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called terebinths of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, wherein He might glory.
um den Trauernden Zions aufzusetzen und ihnen zu geben Kopfschmuck statt Asche, Freudenöl statt Trauer, ein Ruhmesgewand statt eines verzagten [Eig. verglimmenden] Geistes; damit sie genannt werden Terebinthen der Gerechtigkeit, eine Pflanzung Jehovas, zu seiner Verherrlichung.
4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall renew the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
Und sie werden die uralten Trümmer aufbauen, die Verwüstungen der Vorzeit [Eig. der Vorfahren] aufrichten; und sie werden die verödeten Städte erneuern, was wüst lag von Geschlecht zu Geschlecht.
5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and aliens shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
Und Fremdlinge werden dastehen und eure Herden weiden, und Söhne der Fremde werden eure Ackerleute und eure Weingärtner sein.
6 But ye shall be named the priests of the LORD, men shall call you the ministers of our God; ye shall eat the wealth of the nations, and in their splendour shall ye revel.
Ihr aber, ihr werdet Priester Jehovas genannt werden; Diener unseres Gottes wird man euch heißen. Ihr werdet der Nationen Reichtümer genießen und in ihre Herrlichkeit eintreten. [And. üb.: und ihre Herrlichkeit euch rühmen]
7 For your shame which was double, and for that they rejoiced: 'Confusion is their portion'; therefore in their land they shall possess double, everlasting joy shall be unto them.
Anstatt eurer Schmach werdet ihr das Doppelte haben, und anstatt der Schande werden sie jubeln über ihr Teil; darum [d. h. somit, folglich] werden sie in ihrem Lande das Doppelte besitzen, werden ewige Freude haben.
8 For I the LORD love justice, I hate robbery with iniquity; and I will give them their recompense in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
Denn ich, Jehova, liebe das Recht, ich hasse den frevelhaften Raub; und ich werde ihnen ihre Belohnung getreulich geben und einen ewigen Bund mit ihnen schließen.
9 And their seed shall be known among the nations, and their offspring among the peoples; all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
Und ihr Same wird bekannt werden unter den Nationen, und ihre Sprößlinge inmitten der Völker: Alle, die sie sehen, werden sie erkennen, daß sie ein Same sind, den Jehova gesegnet hat.
10 I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of victory, as a bridegroom putteth on a priestly diadem, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels.
Hoch erfreue ich mich in Jehova; meine Seele soll frohlocken in meinem Gott! Denn er hat mich bekleidet mit Kleidern des Heils, den Mantel [Eig. Talar] der Gerechtigkeit mir umgetan, wie ein Bräutigam den Kopfschmuck [d. i. den Turban] nach Priesterart anlegt, und wie eine Braut sich schmückt mit ihrem Geschmeide.
11 For as the earth bringeth forth her growth, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause victory and glory to spring forth before all the nations.
Denn wie die Erde ihr Gesproß hervorbringt, und wie ein Garten sein Gesätes aufsprossen läßt, also wird der Herr, Jehova, Gerechtigkeit und Ruhm aufsprossen lassen vor allen Nationen.
