Isaiah 5
1 Let me sing of my well-beloved, a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My well-beloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill;
われわが愛する者のために歌をつくり 我があいするものの葡萄園のことをうたはん わが愛するものは土肥たる山にひとつの葡萄園をもてり
2 And he digged it, and cleared it of stones, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a vat therein; and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
彼その園をすきかへし石をのぞきて嘉ぶだうをうゑ そのなかに望樓をたて酒榨をほりて嘉葡萄のむすぶを望みまてり 然るに結びたるものは野葡萄なりき
3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
さればヱルサレムに住るものとユダの人よ 請なんぢら我とわがぶだうぞのとの間をさばけ
4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
わが葡萄園にわれの作たるほか何のなすべき事ありや 我はよきぶだうの結ぶをのぞみまちしに 何なれば野葡萄をむすびしや
5 And now come, I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the fence thereof, and it shall be trodden down;
然ばわれわが葡萄園になさんとすることを汝等につげん 我はぶだうぞのの籬芭をとりさりてその食あらさるるにまかせ その垣をこぼちてその踐あらさるるにまかせん
6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned nor hoed, but there shall come up briers and thorns; I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
我これを荒してふたたび剪ことをせず耕すことをせず棘と荊とをはえいでしめん また雲に命せてそのうヘに雨ふることなからしめん
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah the plant of His delight; and He looked for justice, but behold violence; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
それ萬軍のヱホバの葡萄園はイスラエルの家なり その喜びたまふところの植物はユダの人なり これに公平をのぞみたまひしに反りて血をながし これに正義をのぞみ給ひしにかへりて號呼あり
8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!
禍ひなるかな彼らは家に家をたてつらね田圃に田圃をましくはへて餘地をあまさず己ひとり國のうちに住んとす
9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts: of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
萬軍のヱホバ我耳につげて宣はく 實におほくの家はあれすたれ大にして美しき家は人のすむことなきにいたらん
10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of a homer shall yield an ephah.
十段のぶだうぞの僅かに一バテをみのり一ホメルの穀種はわづかに一エパを實るべし
11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them!
禍ひなるかなかれらは朝つとにおきて濃酒をおひもとめ 夜のふくるまで止まりてのみ 酒にその身をやかるるなり
12 And the harp and the psaltery, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither have they considered the operation of His hands.
かれらの酒宴には琴あり瑟あり鼓あり笛あり葡萄酒あり されどヱホバの作爲をかへりみずその手のなしたまふところに目をとめず
13 Therefore My people are gone into captivity, for want of knowledge; and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst.
斯るが故にわが民は無知にして虜にせられ その貴顯者はうゑ そのもろもろの民は渇によりて疲れはてん
14 Therefore the nether-world hath enlarged her desire, and opened her mouth without measure; and down goeth their glory, and their tumult, and their uproar, and he that rejoiceth among them. (Sheol h7585)
また陰府はその欲望をひろくしその度られざる口をはる かれらの榮華かれらの群衆かれらの饒富および喜びたのしめる入みなその中におつべし (Sheol h7585)
15 And man is bowed down, and man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled;
賤しき者はかがめられ 貴きものは卑くせられ 目をあげて高ぶる者はひくくせらるべし
16 But the LORD of hosts is exalted through justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified through righteousness.
されど萬軍のヱホバは公平によりてあがめられ 聖なる神は正義によりて聖とせられ給ふべし
17 Then shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat.
而して小羊おのが牧場にあるごとくに草をはみ 豐かなるものの田はあれて旅客にくらはれん
18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope,
禍ひなるかな彼等はいつはりを繩となして惡をひき 索にて車をひくごとく罪をひけり
19 That say: 'Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!'
かれらは云 その成んとする事をいそぎて速かになせ 我儕これを見ん イスラエルの聖者のさだむることを逼來らせよ われらこれを知んと
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that change darkness into light, and light into darkness; that change bitter into sweet, and sweet into bitter!
禍ひなるかな かれらは惡をよびて善とし善をよびて惡とし暗をもて光とし光をもて暗とし苦をもて甘とし甘をもて苦とする者なり
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
わざはひなる哉 かれらは己をみて智しとし自らかへりみて聰とする者なり
22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;
禍ひなるかな かれらは葡萄酒をのむに丈夫なり 濃酒を和するに勇者なり
23 That justify the wicked for a reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
かれらは賄賂によりて惡きものを義となし義人よりその義をうばふ
24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the chaff is consumed in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and contemned the word of the Holy One of Israel.
此によりて火舌の刈株をくらふがごとくまた枯草の火焔のなかにおつるがごとくその根はくちはてその花は塵のごとくに飛さらん かれらは萬軍のヱホバの律法をすててイスラエルの聖者のことばを蔑したればなり
25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against His people, and He hath stretched forth His hand against them, and hath smitten them, and the hills did tremble, and their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
この故にヱホバその民にむかひて怒をはなち手をのべてかれらを撃たまヘり 山はふるひうごきかれらの屍は衢のなかにて糞土のごとくなれり 然はあれどヱホバの怒やまずして尚その手を伸したまふ
26 And He will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly;
かくて旗をたててとほき國々をまねき彼等をよびて地の極より來らしめたまはん 視よかれら趨りて速かにきたるべし
27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken;
その中には疲れたふるるものなく眠りまたは寢るものなし その腰の帯はとけずその履の紐はきれず
28 Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind;
その矢は鋭その弓はことごとく張りその馬のひづめは石のごとくその車の輪は疾風のごとしと稱へられん
29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions, yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver.
その嘷ること獅のごとく また小獅のごとく嘷うなりつつ獲物をつかみて掠去れども之をすくふ者なし
30 And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea; and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and distress, and the light is darkened in the skies thereof.
その日かれらが嘯響めくこと海のなりどよめくがごとしもし地をのぞまば暗と難とありて光は黒雲のなかにくらくなりたるを見ん
