Isaiah 5
1 Let me sing of my well-beloved, a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My well-beloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill;
Ich will von meinem Freunde singen, das Lied meines Liebsten von seinem Weinberg! Mein Freund besaß einen Weinberg auf fetter Bergeshöhe.
2 And he digged it, and cleared it of stones, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a vat therein; and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
Und er behackte ihn und entsteinte ihn und bepflanzte ihn mit Edelreben. Einen Turm baute er mitten in ihm und hieb auch eine Kufe in ihm aus und wartete, daß er Trauben brächte, aber er brachte Heerlinge.
3 And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
So richtet nun, ihr Bewohner Jerusalems und ihr Männer von Juda, zwischen mir und meinem Weinberge!
4 What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
Was gab es noch an meinem Weinberge zu thun, das ich nicht an ihm gethan hätte? Warum brachte er denn Heerlinge, während ich auf Trauben hoffte?
5 And now come, I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the fence thereof, and it shall be trodden down;
So will ich euch nun verkünden, was ich mit meinem Weinberge thun werde: Wegreißen will ich seinen Zaun, daß er abgefressen werde! Durchbrechen will ich seine Mauer, daß er zertreten werde.
6 And I will lay it waste: it shall not be pruned nor hoed, but there shall come up briers and thorns; I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
Ich will eine Wüstenei aus ihm machen: Er soll nicht beschnitten, noch behackt werden, sondern in Dornen und Gestrüpp aufschießen; und den Wolken will ich verbieten, Regen auf ihn fallen zu lassen.
7 For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah the plant of His delight; and He looked for justice, but behold violence; for righteousness, but behold a cry.
Denn das Haus Israel ist der Weinberg Jahwes der Heerscharen, und die Männer von Juda sind seine liebliche Pflanzung. Und er wartete auf Recht - doch siehe da Blutvergießen, auf Gerechtigkeit - doch siehe da Jammergeschrei!
8 Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!
Wehe denen, die Haus an Haus reihen, Feld an Feld rücken, bis kein Platz mehr bleibt, und es dahin gebracht ist, daß ihr allein im Lande wohnt.
9 In mine ears said the LORD of hosts: of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
In meinen Ohren offenbart sich Jahwe der Heerscharen: Fürwahr! Viele Häuser wollen verwüstet werden, große und schöne menschenleer!
10 For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of a homer shall yield an ephah.
Denn zehn Joch Weinland sollen ein Bath geben und ein Chomer Aussaat ein Epha.
11 Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them!
Wehe denen, die früh am Morgen dem Rauschtrank nachgehen, die in der Dämmerung verziehn, vom Wein erhitzt! -
12 And the harp and the psaltery, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are in their feasts; but they regard not the work of the LORD, neither have they considered the operation of His hands.
die Zither und Harfe, Pauke und Flöte und Wein zum Gelage vereinen, aber auf Jahwes Thun blicken sie nicht und das Werk seiner Hände sehen sie nicht!
13 Therefore My people are gone into captivity, for want of knowledge; and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst.
Deshalb wird mein Volk unversehens in die Verbannung wandern; seine Vornehmen werden Hungerleider sein und seine Prasser vor Durst verschmachten.
14 Therefore the nether-world hath enlarged her desire, and opened her mouth without measure; and down goeth their glory, and their tumult, and their uproar, and he that rejoiceth among them. (Sheol h7585)
Darum wird die Unterwelt ihren Rachen aufsperren und ihr Maul unermeßlich weit aufreißen, daß hinabfahren Jerusalems Pracht und Gewoge und Gebrause und wer daselbst fröhlich ist. (Sheol h7585)
15 And man is bowed down, and man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled;
Dann werden die Menschen gebeugt und die Männer gedemütigt, und die Augen der Stolzen gedemütigt werden,
16 But the LORD of hosts is exalted through justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified through righteousness.
aber Jahwe der Heerscharen wird durch Gericht erhaben sein und der heilige Gott sich heilig erweisen durch Gerechtigkeit.
17 Then shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat.
Und Lämmer werden dort weiden, als ob es ihre Trift wäre, und Böcklein werden sich von den Trümmern der Fetten nähren.
18 Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as it were with a cart rope,
Wehe denen, die Verschuldung an Stricken des Unrechts herbeiziehn und Strafe wie mit Wagenseilen!
19 That say: 'Let Him make speed, let Him hasten His work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!'
Die da sprechen: Er beeile, beschleunige doch sein Werk, damit wir es erleben! Es nahe doch und trete ein, was der Heilige Israels plant, damit wir es kennen lernen!
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that change darkness into light, and light into darkness; that change bitter into sweet, and sweet into bitter!
Wehe denen, die Böses gut nennen und Gutes böse, die Finsternis zu Licht machen und Licht zu Finsternis, die bitter zu süß machen und süß zu bitter.
21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
Wehe denen, die in ihren eigenen Augen weise sind und vor sich selber klug!
22 Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;
Wehe denen, die Helden sind im Weintrinken und tapfer, Rauschtrank zu mischen,
23 That justify the wicked for a reward, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
die für Bezahlung den Schuldigen frei sprechen und dem, der Recht hat, sein gutes Recht entziehen!
24 Therefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the chaff is consumed in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of the LORD of hosts, and contemned the word of the Holy One of Israel.
Darum, wie die Zunge des Feuers Stoppeln frißt und dürre Halme in der Flamme zusammensinken, soll ihre Wurzel wie Moder werden, und ihre Blüte wie Staub auffliegen - weil sie die Weisung Jahwes der Heerscharen verworfen und das Wort des Heiligen Israels gelästert haben.
25 Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against His people, and He hath stretched forth His hand against them, and hath smitten them, and the hills did tremble, and their carcasses were as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Deshalb wird der Zorn Jahwes der Heerscharen gegen sein Volk entbrennen, und er wird seine Hand gegen dasselbe ausrecken und wird es schlagen, daß die Berge erbeben und seine Leichen wie Kehricht auf den Gassen liegen. Bei alle dem hat sich sein Zorn nicht gewandt, und blieb seine Hand noch ausgereckt.
26 And He will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss unto them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly;
Und er wird ein Panier aufpflanzen für ein Volk in der Ferne und es vom Rande der Erde herbeilocken: Schon kommt es eilends, schnell heran!
27 None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken;
Kein Müder und kein Strauchelnder ist darunter; sie schlafen und schlummern nicht. Nicht löst sich der Gurt ihrer Lenden, nicht reißt ihnen ein Schuhriemen.
28 Whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs shall be counted like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind;
Ihre Pfeile sind geschärft und alle ihre Bogen gespannt. Die Hufe ihrer Rosse gleichen Kieseln und ihre Räder dem Wirbelwind.
29 Their roaring shall be like a lion, they shall roar like young lions, yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver.
Ihr Gebrüll ist wie das des Löwen; sie brüllen wie Jungleuen, knurren und packen den Raub und bergen ihn, und niemand vermag zu erretten.
30 And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea; and if one look unto the land, behold darkness and distress, and the light is darkened in the skies thereof.
Und es wird an jenem Tag über ihm tosen wie Meerestosen; und blickt es zur Erde, so ist da nur angstvolle Finsternis, und das Licht hat sich verfinstert in ihren Wolken.
