Isaiah 48
1 Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the fountain of Judah; who swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
੧ਹੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ, ਇਹ ਸੁਣੋ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਸਦਾਉਂਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ ਹੋ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਂਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਵਰਣਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ, ਪਰ ਸਚਿਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ।
2 For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel, the LORD of hosts is His name.
੨ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਕਹਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੈ, ਢਾਸਣਾ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
3 I have declared the former things from of old; yea, they went forth out of My mouth, and I announced them; suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.
੩ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਲੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੱਸੀਆਂ, ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਪਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤੁਰੰਤ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ।
4 Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;
੪ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਹਠੀਲਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਗਰਦਨ ਲੋਹੇ ਦਾ ਪੱਠਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਮੱਥਾ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦਾ ਹੈ,
5 Therefore I have declared it to thee from of old; before it came to pass I announced it to thee; lest thou shouldest say: 'Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.'
੫ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਦੱਸੀਆਂ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਇਆ, ਕਿਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਆਖੇਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਬੁੱਤ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਮੇਰੀ ਘੜੀ ਹੋਈ ਮੂਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਢਾਲ਼ੇ ਹੋਏ ਬੁੱਤ ਨੇ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ!
6 Thou hast heard, see, all this; and ye, will ye not declare it? I have announced unto thee new things from this time, even hidden things, which thou hast not known.
੬ਤੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕਰ - ਭਲਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦੱਸੋਗੇ? ਹੁਣ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਗੁਪਤ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ।
7 They are created now, and not from of old, and before this day thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say: 'Behold, I knew them.'
੭ਉਹ ਹੁਣੇ ਉਤਪੰਨ ਹੋਈਆਂ, ਨਾ ਕਿ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਅੱਜ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਕਿਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਆਖੇਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ।
8 Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from of old thine ear was not opened; for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.
੮ਨਾ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਨਾ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਿਆ, ਨਾ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੰਨ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੇ ਗਏ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਠੱਗੀ ਤੇ ਠੱਗੀ ਕਮਾਵੇਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁੱਖ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਤੂੰ ਅਪਰਾਧੀ ਅਖਵਾਇਆ।
9 For My name's sake will I defer Mine anger, and for My praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.
੯ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਨਮਿੱਤ ਆਪਣਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਰੋਕ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਦੇ ਨਮਿੱਤ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਰੋਕ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਨਾ ਸੁੱਟਾਂ।
10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not as silver; I have tried thee in the furnace of affliction.
੧੦ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਤਾਇਆ ਪਰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਕੁਠਾਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਤਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
11 For Mine own sake, for Mine own sake, will I do it; for how should it be profaned? And My glory will I not give to another.
੧੧ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਖਾਤਰ, ਹਾਂ, ਆਪਣੀ ਹੀ ਖਾਤਰ ਇਹ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਤਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਭਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ? ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਪਰਤਾਪ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
12 Hearken unto Me, O Jacob, and Israel My called: I am He; I am the first, I also am the last.
੧੨ਹੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ, ਹੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣੋ! ਮੈਂ ਉਹੀ ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਦ ਹਾਂ ਅੰਤ ਵੀ ਹਾਂ।
13 Yea, My hand hath laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand hath spread out the heavens; when I call unto them, they stand up together.
੧੩ਹਾਂ, ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਨੀਂਹ ਰੱਖੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੇ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਫੈਲਾਇਆ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਖਲੋ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
14 Assemble yourselves, all ye, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? He whom the LORD loveth shall perform His pleasure on Babylon, and show His arm on the Chaldeans.
੧੪ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਭ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਣੋ, - ਇਹਨਾਂ ਬੁੱਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ? ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਚੁਣੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਬਾਬਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਪੂਰੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਭੁਜਾ ਕਸਦੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
15 I, even I, have spoken, yea, I have called him; I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.
੧੫ਮੈਂ, ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ, ਮੈਂ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
16 Come ye near unto Me, hear ye this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord GOD hath sent me, and His spirit.
੧੬ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਓ, ਇਹ ਸੁਣੋ, ਮੈਂ ਮੁੱਢ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਪਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਸੀ, - ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ।
17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the LORD thy God, who teacheth thee for thy profit, who leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
੧੭ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਛੁਡਾਉਣ ਵਾਲਾ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਲਾਭ ਉਠਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਜਿਸ ਰਾਹ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣਾ ਹੈ।
18 Oh that thou wouldest hearken to My commandments! then would thy peace be as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea;
੧੮ਕਾਸ਼ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨਦਾ! ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਦੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਧਰਮ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਲਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੁੰਦਾ,
19 Thy seed also would be as the sand, and the offspring of thy body like the grains thereof; his name would not be cut off nor destroyed from before Me.
੧੯ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਵੰਸ਼ ਰੇਤ ਜਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੰਤਾਨ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਦਾਣਿਆਂ ਜਿਹੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ, ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਮੇਰੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰੋਂ ਮਿਟਾਇਆ ਨਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ, ਨਾ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ।
20 Go ye forth from Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans; with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye: 'The LORD hath redeemed His servant Jacob.
੨੦ਬਾਬਲ ਤੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲੋ, ਕਸਦੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨੱਠੋ! ਜੈਕਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸੋ, ਇਹ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਾਓ, ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰੋ, ਆਖੋ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ!
21 And they thirsted not when He led them through the deserts; He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; He cleaved the rock also, and the waters gushed out.'
੨੧ਜਦ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਰਾਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪਿਆਸੇ ਨਾ ਹੋਏ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਵਗਾਇਆ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਾੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਫੁੱਟ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ।
22 There is no peace, saith the LORD concerning the wicked.
੨੨ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ।
