Isaiah 48

1 Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the fountain of Judah; who swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.

Paminawa kini, panimalay ni Jacob, nga gitawag sa ngalan nga Israel, ug miabot gikan sa binhi ni Juda; kamo nga nanumpa pinaagi sa ngalan ni Yahweh ug nagpasuko sa Dios sa Israel, apan dili matinud-anon ni sa matarong nga paagi.

2 For they call themselves of the holy city, and stay themselves upon the God of Israel, the LORD of hosts is His name.

Kay gitawag nila ang ilang kaugalingon nga katawhan sa balaang siyudad ug misalig sa Dios sa Israel. Yahweh nga labawng makagagahom mao ang iyang ngalan.

3 I have declared the former things from of old; yea, they went forth out of My mouth, and I announced them; suddenly I did them, and they came to pass.

Gisulti ko ang mga butang kaniadto; migula sila gikan sa akong baba, ug gitugotan ko kini nga mahibaloan; ug sa kalit lang gibuhat ko kini, ug nahanaw sila.

4 Because I knew that thou art obstinate, and thy neck is an iron sinew, and thy brow brass;

Tungod kay nasayod ako nga masinupakon kamo, gahi kamo ug liog sama sa puthaw, ug ang inyong agtang sama sa bronsi,

5 Therefore I have declared it to thee from of old; before it came to pass I announced it to thee; lest thou shouldest say: 'Mine idol hath done them, and my graven image, and my molten image, hath commanded them.'

busa gisulti ko kining mga butanga kaninyo kaniadto pa; sa wala pa kini mahitabo gipahibalo ko na kamo, aron dili kamo makaingon, 'Gibuhat sila sa akong diosdios,' o 'Ang akong kinulit ug ang puthaw nga hulagway mao ang naghimo niining mga butanga.'

6 Thou hast heard, see, all this; and ye, will ye not declare it? I have announced unto thee new things from this time, even hidden things, which thou hast not known.

Nakadungog kamo mahitungod niining mga butanga; tan-awa kining tanan nga pagpamatuod; ug kamo, dili ba ninyo angkonon nga tinuod ang akong gisulti? Gikan karon, pakit-on ko kamo ug bag-ong mga butang, tinagong mga butang nga wala pa ninyo mahibaloi.

7 They are created now, and not from of old, and before this day thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say: 'Behold, I knew them.'

Karon, ug dili sa milabay, anaa na silang daan, sa wala pa kining adlawa wala kamo makadungog mahitungod kanila, busa dili kamo makahimo sa pag-ingon, 'Oo, nasayod ako mahitungod kanila.'

8 Yea, thou heardest not; yea, thou knewest not; yea, from of old thine ear was not opened; for I knew that thou wouldest deal very treacherously, and wast called a transgressor from the womb.

Wala pa gayod kamo makadungog; wala kamo nahibalo; kining mga butanga wala malilong sa inyong mga igdulungog kaniadto. Tungod kay nasayod ako nga mga limbongan kaayo kamo, ug nga masinupakon kamo sukad pa sa inyong pagkatawo.

9 For My name's sake will I defer Mine anger, and for My praise will I refrain for thee, that I cut thee not off.

Alang sa akong ngalan pugngan ko ang akong kasuko, ug alang sa akong dungog dili ko idayon ang paglaglag kaninyo.

10 Behold, I have refined thee, but not as silver; I have tried thee in the furnace of affliction.

Tan-awa, gilunsay ko kamo, apan dili sama sa plata; giputli ko kamo diha sa hudno sa kasakit.

11 For Mine own sake, for Mine own sake, will I do it; for how should it be profaned? And My glory will I not give to another.

Alang sa akong kaugalingon mamuhat ako; matugotan ko ba nga mawad-an ug dungog ang akong ngalan? Dili ko ihatag ang akong himaya kang bisan kinsa.

12 Hearken unto Me, O Jacob, and Israel My called: I am He; I am the first, I also am the last.

Paminaw kanako, Jacob, ug Israel nga akong tinawag: ako ang sinugdanan, ug ako usab ang kataposan.

13 Yea, My hand hath laid the foundation of the earth, and My right hand hath spread out the heavens; when I call unto them, they stand up together.

Oo, ang akong mga kamot ang nagpahimutang sa pasukaranan sa kalibotan, ug ang akong tuong kamot ang nagpakatag sa kalangitan; sa dihang tawgon ko sila, mobarog silang tanan.

14 Assemble yourselves, all ye, and hear; which among them hath declared these things? He whom the LORD loveth shall perform His pleasure on Babylon, and show His arm on the Chaldeans.

Pagtigom kamo, kamong tanan, ug paminaw! Kinsa man kaninyo ang nagpahibalo niining mga butanga? Ang kaabin ni Yahweh mao ang motapos sa iyang katuyoan batok sa Babilonia. Himoon niya ang kabubut-on ni Yahweh batok sa mga Caldeahanon.

15 I, even I, have spoken, yea, I have called him; I have brought him, and he shall make his way prosperous.

Ako ang nag-ingon, oo, gipatawag ko siya, gidala ko siya, ug magmalamposon siya.

16 Come ye near unto Me, hear ye this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord GOD hath sent me, and His spirit.

Paduol kanako, paminawa kini: Sukad sa sinugdanan wala ako magsulti diha sa tago; sa dihang mahitabo kini, atua ako didto.” Karon gipadala ako sa Ginoo nga si Yahweh, ug sa iyang Espiritu.

17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the LORD thy God, who teacheth thee for thy profit, who leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

Mao kini ang giingon ni Yahweh, ang inyong Manunubos, ang Balaang Dios sa Israel, “Ako si Yahweh nga inyong Dios, ang nagtudlo kaninyo unsaon nga magmalamposon, ang naggiya kaninyo sa dalan nga angayan ninyong subayon.

18 Oh that thou wouldest hearken to My commandments! then would thy peace be as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea;

Kung gituman lamang ninyo ang akong mga sugo! Magadagayday unta sama sa suba ang inyong kalinaw ug kauswagan, ug ang inyong kaluwasan sama sa mga balod sa dagat.

19 Thy seed also would be as the sand, and the offspring of thy body like the grains thereof; his name would not be cut off nor destroyed from before Me.

Sama unta kadaghan sa balas ang inyong mga kaliwatan, ug ang mga anak nga gikan sa inyong tagoangkan sama kadaghan sa mga lugas sa balas; dili unta mawagtang ni mapapas ang ilang mga ngalan gikan sa akong atubangan.

20 Go ye forth from Babylon, flee ye from the Chaldeans; with a voice of singing declare ye, tell this, utter it even to the end of the earth; say ye: 'The LORD hath redeemed His servant Jacob.

Gula gikan sa Babilonia! Kalagiw gikan sa mga Caldeahanon! Uban sa makusog nga pagsinggit ipahibalo kini! Ipahibalo kini, ipaabot kini ngadto sa mga kinatumyan sa kalibotan! Isulti, 'Gitubos ni Yahweh ang iyang sulugoon nga si Jacob.'

21 And they thirsted not when He led them through the deserts; He caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; He cleaved the rock also, and the waters gushed out.'

Wala sila uhawa sa dihang gigiyahan niya sila latas sa kamingawan; gipadagayday niya ang tubig gikan sa bato alang kanila; gibuak niya ang bato, ug mibugwak ang tubig.

22 There is no peace, saith the LORD concerning the wicked.

Walay kalinaw alang sa daotan—nag-ingon si Yahweh.”
