Isaiah 44
1 Yet now hear, O Jacob My servant, and Israel, whom I have chosen;
Pero escucha ahora, Jacob, mi siervo, e Israel, a quienes he elegido.
2 Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, who will help thee: Fear not, O Jacob My servant, and thou, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
Esto es lo que hace el Señor que te hizo, y te formó desde el vientre materno, que te ayudará dice: “No tengas miedo, Jacobo, mi siervo; y tú, Jeshurun, a quien he elegido.
3 For I will pour water upon the thirsty land, and streams upon the dry ground; I will pour My spirit upon thy seed, and My blessing upon thine offspring;
Porque derramaré agua sobre el sediento, y arroyos en la tierra seca. Derramaré mi Espíritu sobre tus descendientes, y mi bendición sobre tu descendencia;
4 And they shall spring up among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.
y brotarán entre la hierba, como sauces junto a los cursos de agua.
5 One shall say: 'I am the LORD'S'; and another shall call himself by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto the LORD, and surname himself by the name of Israel.
Uno dirá: “Yo soy de Yahvé”. Otro será llamado con el nombre de Jacob; y otro escribirá con su mano ‘a Yahvé’. y honrar el nombre de Israel”.
6 Thus saith the LORD, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer the LORD of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last, and beside Me there is no God.
Esto es lo que Yahvé, el Rey de Israel, y su Redentor, Yahvé de los Ejércitos, dice: “Soy el primero y soy el último; y además de mí no hay Dios.
7 And who, as I, can proclaim — let him declare it, and set it in order for Me — since I appointed the ancient people? And the things that are coming, and that shall come to pass, let them declare.
¿Quién es como yo? Quién llamará, y lo declarará, y ponerlo en orden para mí, desde que establecí el pueblo antiguo? Que declaren las cosas que vienen, y eso sucederá.
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid; have I not announced unto thee of old, and declared it? And ye are My witnesses. Is there a God beside Me? Yea, there is no Rock; I know not any.
No temas, ni tener miedo. ¿No te lo declaré hace tiempo? y se lo mostraron? Ustedes son mis testigos. ¿Existe un Dios aparte de mí? De hecho, no lo hay. No conozco ninguna otra Roca”.
9 They that fashion a graven image are all of them vanity, and their delectable things shall not profit; and their own witnesses see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed.
Todo el que hace una imagen tallada es vano. Las cosas en las que se deleitan no serán de provecho. Sus propios testigos no ven, ni saben, que pueden ser decepcionados.
10 Who hath fashioned a god, or molten an image that is profitable for nothing?
Que ha creado un dios, o moldea una imagen que es rentable para nada?
11 Behold, all the fellows thereof shall be ashamed; and the craftsmen skilled above men; let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; they shall fear, they shall be ashamed together.
He aquí que todos sus compañeros se verán defraudados; y los obreros son simples hombres. Que se reúnan todos. Que se pongan de pie. Tendrán miedo. Se pondrán en evidencia juntos.
12 The smith maketh an axe, and worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with his strong arm; yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth; he drinketh no water, and is faint.
El herrero toma un hacha, trabaja en las brasas, lo hace con martillos, y lo trabaja con su fuerte brazo. Tiene hambre, y le fallan las fuerzas; no bebe agua, y es débil.
13 The carpenter stretcheth out a line; he marketh it out with a pencil; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compasses, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man, to dwell in the house.
El carpintero extiende una línea. Lo marca con un lápiz. Le da forma con planos. Lo marca con brújulas, y le da la forma de la figura de un hombre, con la belleza de un hombre, residir en una casa.
14 He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the ilex and the oak, and strengtheneth for himself one among the trees of the forest; he planteth a bay-tree, and the rain doth nourish it.
Corta cedros para sí mismo, y toma el ciprés y el roble, y fortalece para sí uno entre los árboles del bosque. Planta un ciprés, y la lluvia la alimenta.
15 Then a man useth it for fuel; and he taketh thereof, and warmeth himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread; yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
Entonces será para un hombre que se queme; y toma un poco de ella y se calienta. Sí, lo quema y hornea el pan. Sí, hace un dios y lo adora; lo convierte en una imagen tallada, y cae ante ella.
16 He burneth the half thereof in the fire; with the half thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied; yea, he warmeth himself, and saith: 'Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire';
Quema una parte en el fuego. Con parte de ella, come carne. Asa un asado y queda satisfecho. Sí, se calienta y dice: “¡Ah! Estoy caliente. He visto el fuego”.
17 And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image; he falleth down unto it and worshippeth, and prayeth unto it, and saith: 'Deliver me, for thou art my god.'
El resto lo convierte en un dios, incluso su imagen grabada. Se inclina ante ella y la adora, y le reza, y dice: “¡Libérame, porque tú eres mi dios!”
18 They know not, neither do they understand; for their eyes are bedaubed, that they cannot see, and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
No lo saben, ni lo consideran, porque les ha cerrado los ojos, para que no puedan ver, y sus corazones, que no pueden entender.
19 And none considereth in his heart, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say: 'I have burned the half of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh and eaten it; and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? Shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?'
Nadie piensa, ni hay conocimiento ni entendimiento para decir, “He quemado una parte en el fuego. Sí, también he horneado pan en sus brasas. He asado carne y la he comido. ¿Debo convertir el resto en una abominación? ¿Debo inclinarme ante un tronco de árbol?”
20 He striveth after ashes, a deceived heart hath turned him aside, that he cannot deliver his soul, nor say: 'Is there not a lie in my right hand?'
Se alimenta de cenizas. Un corazón engañado lo ha desviado; y no puede entregar su alma, ni decir: “¿No hay una mentira en mi mano derecha?”
21 Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel, for thou art My servant; I have formed thee, thou art Mine own servant; O Israel, thou shouldest not forget Me.
Recuerda estas cosas, Jacob e Israel, porque eres mi siervo. Yo te he formado. Eres mi sirviente. Israel, no serás olvidado por mí.
22 I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins; return unto Me, for I have redeemed thee.
He borrado, como una nube espesa, tus transgresiones, y, como una nube, tus pecados. Vuelve a mí, porque te he redimido.
23 Sing, O ye heavens, for the LORD hath done it; shout, ye lowest parts of the earth; break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein; for the LORD hath redeemed Jacob, and doth glorify Himself in Israel.
¡Cantad, cielos, porque Yahvé lo ha hecho! ¡Gritad, partes bajas de la tierra! Rompan a cantar, ustedes montañas, oh bosque, todos sus árboles, porque Yahvé ha redimido a Jacob, y se glorificará en Israel.
24 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, and He that formed thee from the womb: I am the LORD, that maketh all things; that stretched forth the heavens alone; that spread abroad the earth by Myself;
Yahvé, tu Redentor, y el que te formó desde el vientre materno dice: “Yo soy Yahvé, que hace todas las cosas; que es el único que extiende los cielos; que extienda la tierra por mí mismo;
25 That frustrateth the tokens of the imposters, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
que frustra las señales de los mentirosos, y vuelve locos a los adivinos; que hace retroceder a los sabios, y hace que su conocimiento sea tonto;
26 That confirmeth the word of His servant, and performeth the counsel of His messengers; that saith of Jerusalem: 'She shall be inhabited'; and of the cities of Judah: 'They shall be built, and I will raise up the waste places thereof';
que confirma la palabra de su siervo, y realiza el consejo de sus mensajeros; que dice de Jerusalén: “Estará habitada”. y de las ciudades de Judá: “Serán construidas”. y “levantaré sus despojos”.
27 That saith to the deep: 'Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers';
que dice a las profundidades: “Sécate”. y “secaré tus ríos”.
28 That saith of Cyrus: 'He is My shepherd, and shall perform all My pleasure'; even saying of Jerusalem: 'She shall be built'; and to the temple: 'My foundation shall be laid.'
que dice de Ciro: “Él es mi pastor y cumplirá todo lo que yo quiera”. incluso diciendo de Jerusalén, ‘Ella será construida;’ y del templo: “Se pondrán sus cimientos””.
