Isaiah 37
1 And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he rent his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
೧ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ ತನ್ನ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಗೋಣೀತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು.
2 And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, unto Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
೨ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ರಾಜಗೃಹಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ಎಲ್ಯಾಕೀಮ್, ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಶೆಬ್ನ, ಹಿರಿಯರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರು ಇವರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿ, “ನೀವು ಗೋಣಿತಟ್ಟನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಆಮೋಚನ ಮಗನೂ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಯೆಶಾಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
3 And they said unto him: 'Thus saith Hezekiah: This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of contumely; for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
೩ಆಗ ಅವರು ಯೆಶಾಯನಿಗೆ, “ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ‘ಈ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮಗೆ ಮಹಾಕಷ್ಟವೂ, ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಯೂ, ನಿಂದೆಯೂ ಸಂಭವಿಸಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಹೆರಿಗೆಯ ಕಾಲ ಬಂದದೆ; ಆದರೆ ಹೆರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಲ ಸಾಲದು.
4 It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rab-shakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to taunt the living God, and will rebuke the words which the LORD thy God hath heard; wherefore make prayer for the remnant that is left.'
೪ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಂದ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯ ನಿಂದಾವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರುವನು, ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪನಾದ ದೇವರನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮುಯ್ಯಿತೀರಿಸಾನು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಜನರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸು’” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
5 So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
೫ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ,
6 And Isaiah said unto them: 'Thus shall ye say to your master: Thus saith the LORD: Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, wherewith the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.
೬“ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನ ಸೇವಕರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೀ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ನೀನು ಹೆದರಬೇಡ.
7 Behold, I will put a spirit in him, and he shall hear a rumour, and shall return unto his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.'
೭ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಭಯದ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಬರ ಮಾಡುವೆನು. ಅವನು ಒಂದು ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ವದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು ಎಂಬ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
8 So Rab-shakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah; for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
೮ರಬ್ಷಾಕೆಯು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗುವಾಗ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನು ಲಾಕೀಷನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋದನೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಲಿಬ್ನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡನು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ಆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದನು.
9 And he heard say concerning Tirhakah king of Ethiopia: 'He is come out to fight against thee.' And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying:
೯ಅಷ್ಟರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಷಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ತಿರ್ಹಾಕನು ತನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದಾನೆಂಬ ಸುದ್ದಿಯನ್ನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಕೇಳಿ, ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ,
10 'Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying: Let not thy God in whom thou trustest beguile thee, saying: Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
೧೦“ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನೇ, ನೀನು ನಂಬುವ ದೇವರು, ‘ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ವಶವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮೋಸಗೊಳಿಸಾನು.’
11 Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands, by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?
೧೧ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸರು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡಿದರೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಿಯಲ್ಲಾ? ಹೀಗಿದ್ದ ಮೇಲೆ ನೀನು ಉಳಿಯುವಿಯೋ?
12 Have the gods of the nations delivered them, which my fathers have destroyed, Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden that were in Telassar?
೧೨ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆತಾತಂದಿರು ಗೋಜಾನ್, ಖಾರಾನ್, ರೆಚೆಫ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ತೆಲಸ್ಸಾರ್ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಎದೆನಿನ ಜನರನ್ನೂ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದಾಗ ಅವರ ದೇವತೆಗಳು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿದವೋ?
13 Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arpad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah?'
೧೩ಹಮಾತ್, ಅರ್ಪಾದ್, ಸೆಫರ್ವಯಿಮ್, ಹೇನ, ಇವ್ವಾ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ ಅರಸರು ಏನಾದರು ಎಂಬ ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿರಿ” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ದೂತರನ್ನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it; and Hezekiah went up unto the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
೧೪ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಆ ದೂತರು ತಂದ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಓದಿದ ನಂತರ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮುಂದೆ ತೆರೆದಿಟ್ಟನು.
15 And Hezekiah prayed unto the LORD, saying:
೧೫ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು
16 'O LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, that sittest upon the cherubim, Thou art the God, even Thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth; Thou hast made heaven and earth.
೧೬“ಕೆರೂಬಿಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಸೀನನಾಗಿರುವಾತನೇ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರೇ, ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಭೂರಾಜ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಆಳುವ ದೇವರು ನೀನೊಬ್ಬನೇ, ಪರಲೋಕ ಭೂಲೋಕಗಳನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದವನು ನೀನೇ.
17 Incline Thine ear, O LORD, and hear; open Thine eyes, O LORD, and see; and hear all the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent to taunt the living God.
೧೭ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಕಿವಿಗೊಟ್ಟು ಕೇಳು. ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಕಣ್ಣಿಟ್ಟು ನೋಡು. ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಜೀವಸ್ವರೂಪ ದೇವರಾದ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೋ.
18 Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the countries, and their land,
೧೮ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸರು ಸಕಲ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಅವರ ದೇಶಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ನಿಜ.
19 and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men's hands, wood and stone; therefore they have destroyed them.
೧೯ಅವರ ದೇವತೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಂಕಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿದರು, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವು ದೇವತೆಗಳಲ್ಲ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ಕಲ್ಲು ಮರಗಳ ಬೊಂಬೆಗಳಷ್ಟೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದಲೇ ಅವು ಅವರಿಂದ ಹಾಳಾದವು.
20 Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that Thou art the LORD, even Thou only.'
೨೦ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವನೇ, ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀನೇ ಅದ್ವಿತೀಯನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಭೂರಾಜ್ಯಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಇವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸು ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.”
21 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezekiah, saying: 'Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: Whereas thou hast prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria,
೨೧ಆಗ ಆಮೋಚನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಶಾಯನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳು, ‘ನೀನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಬಿನ್ನಹಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದೆನು.’
22 this is the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him: The virgin daughter of Zion hath despised thee and laughed thee to scorn; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
೨೨ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಹೇಳುವುದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ‘ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವ ಚೀಯೋನ್ ಕುವರಿಯು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸಿ ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಮಾಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ, ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮ್ ಕುವರಿಯು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ತಲೆಯಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ.
23 Whom hast thou taunted and blasphemed? And against whom hast thou exalted thy voice? Yea, thou hast lifted up thine eyes on high, even against the Holy One of Israel!
೨೩ನೀನು ಯಾರನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿ ಯಾರನ್ನು ದೂಷಿಸಿದ್ಡೀ? ಯಾರ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಬಾಯ್ದೆರೆದು ಧ್ವನಿಯೆತ್ತಿದ್ದೀ? ನೀನು ಸೊಕ್ಕಿನಿಂದ ನೋಡಿದ್ದು ಯಾರನ್ನು? ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸದಮಲಸ್ವಾಮಿಯನ್ನಲ್ಲವೇ!’
24 By thy servants hast thou taunted the Lord, and hast said: With the multitude of my chariots am I come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon; and I have cut down the tall cedars thereof, and the choice cypress-trees thereof; and I have entered into his farthest height, the forest of his fruitful field.
೨೪ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರ ಮುಖಾಂತರವಾಗಿ ಕರ್ತನನ್ನು ನಿಂದಿಸಿ, ‘ನನ್ನ ರಥಸಮೂಹದೊಡನೆ ಪರ್ವತಶಿಖರಗಳನ್ನು ಹತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಲೆಬನೋನಿನ ದುರ್ಗಮಸ್ಥಳಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಅದರ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ದೇವದಾರು ವೃಕ್ಷಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ತುರಾಯಿ ಮರಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಡಿದು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಬಹುದೂರದ ಶಿಖರವನ್ನೂ, ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಗಳನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
25 I have digged and drunk water, and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of Egypt.
೨೫ಪರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಗೆದು ನೀರು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಕುಡಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ; ನನ್ನ ಪಾದಗಳಿಂದ ಐಗುಪ್ತದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಹೊಳೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬತ್ತಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ’ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಕೊಚ್ಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಿ.
26 Hast thou not heard? Long ago I made it, in ancient times I fashioned it; now have I brought it to pass, yea, it is done; that fortified cities should be laid waste into ruinous heaps.
೨೬ಇದನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಹೀಗಾಗಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬಹುಕಾಲದ ಹಿಂದೆಯೇ ಗೊತ್ತುಮಾಡಿದೆನು. ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನು ಈಗ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಕೋಟೆಕೊತ್ತಲುಗಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಳುದಿಬ್ಬಗಳನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವುದು ನಿನಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಯಿತು.
27 Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded; they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as a field of corn before it is grown up.
೨೭ಅವುಗಳ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಬಲವಿಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿ ಆಶಾಭಂಗಪಟ್ಟು ಕಳವಳಗೊಂಡರು. ಅವರು ಹೊಲದ ಗಿಡಕ್ಕೂ, ಹಸಿರು ಹುಲ್ಲಿಗೂ, ಮಾಳಿಗೆಯ ಮೇಲಣ ಹುಲ್ಲಿಗೂ, ಹೊಡೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಒಣಗಿ ಹೋದ ಪೈರಿಗೂ ಸಮಾನರಾದರು.
28 But I know thy sitting down, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy raging against Me.
೨೮ನೀನು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದೂ, ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗುವುದೂ, ಒಳಗೆ ಬರುವುದೂ ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತುಂಟು. ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ರೌದ್ರಾವೇಶನಾಗಿರುವುದನ್ನೂ ಬಲ್ಲೆನು.
29 Because of thy raging against Me, and for that thine uproar is come up into Mine ears, therefore will I put My hook in thy nose, and My bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
೨೯ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡಿರುವುದೂ, ಅಸಮಾಧಾನವಾಗಿರುವುದೂ ನನಗೆ ತಿಳಿದುಬಂತು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಮೂಗುದಾರವನ್ನೂ, ಕಡಿವಾಣವನ್ನೂ ಹಾಕಿ ಬಂದ ದಾರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವೆನು” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ.
30 And this shall be the sign unto thee: ye shall eat this year that which groweth of itself, and in the second year that which springeth of the same; and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit thereof.
೩೦ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳು ನೆರವೇರುವುದು ಎಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ, ನೀವು ಈ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂಳೆಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಮುಂದಿನ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಾನೇ ಬೆಳೆದದ್ದನ್ನೂ, ಮೂರನೆಯ ವರ್ಷ ಹೊಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿತ್ತಿ ಕೊಯ್ದದ್ದನ್ನೂ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವ್ಯವಸಾಯಮಾಡಿ ಕೂಡಿಸಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವುದೇ ಗುರುತಾಗಿರುವುದು.
31 And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward.
೩೧ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಉಳಿದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರು ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಗೊಂಡು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವರು.
32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and out of mount Zion they that shall escape; the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall perform this.
೩೨ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಉಳಿದವರು ಹರಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವರು, ಚೀಯೋನ್ ಪರ್ವತದಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಹೊಂದುವರು; ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅನುಗ್ರಹವು ಇದನ್ನು ನೆರವೇರಿಸುವುದು.
33 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria: He shall not come unto this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither shall he come before it with shield, nor cast a mound against it.
೩೩ಆತನು ಅಶ್ಶೂರದ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು, “ಅವನು ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಸಮೀಪಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಣವನ್ನೆಸೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಗುರಾಣಿ ಹಿಡಿದಿರುವವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಅದನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿ ಬಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಅದರ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ದಿಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
34 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and he shall not come unto this city, saith the LORD.
೩೪ಅವನು ಬಂದ ದಾರಿಯಿಂದಲೇ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಹೋಗುವನು; ಈ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ.
35 For I will defend this city to save it, for Mine own sake, and for My servant David's sake.'
೩೫ನನಗೋಸ್ಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ, ನನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೋಸ್ಕರವಾಗಿಯೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ ಕಾಪಾಡುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂಬುದೇ.
36 And the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians a hundred and fourscore and five thousand; and when men arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
೩೬ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೂತನು ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದು ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯರ ಪಾಳೆಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಲಕ್ಷದ ಎಂಭತ್ತೈದು ಸಾವಿರ ಮಂದಿ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದನು. ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಎದ್ದು ನೋಡುವಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರೆಲ್ಲರು ಹೆಣಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went, and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
೩೭ಆಗ ಅಶ್ಶೂರ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸನ್ಹೇರೀಬನು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ನಿನವೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸಿದನು.
38 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sarezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
೩೮ಅವನು ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಗುಡಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ನಿಸ್ರೋಕನನ್ನು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ ಅದ್ರಮ್ಮೆಲೆಕ್, ಸರೆಚೆರ್ ಎಂಬ ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಂದು, ಅರರಾಟ್ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಏಸರ್ ಹದ್ದೋನನು ಅರಸನಾದನು.
