< Isaiah 21 >
1 The burden of the wilderness of the sea. As whirlwinds in the South sweeping on, it cometh from the wilderness, from a dreadful land.
Wach mokor kuom piny Ongoro manie dho Nam: Mana kaka kalausi mager kudho koluwo piny man yo milambo, e kaka joma monjou biro wuok e piny motwo, piny masira.
2 A grievous vision is declared unto me: 'The treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam! besiege, O Media! All the sighing thereof have I made to cease.'
Fweny malich osenyisa ni: Jandhoko biro ndhoko, to jayeko biro yeko. Elam mondo omonje! Media mondo olwore koni gi koni! Abiro tieko lit duto mane okelo.
3 Therefore are my loins filled with convulsion; pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman in travail; I am bent so that I cannot hear; I am affrighted so that I cannot see.
Kaneno magi to apuodora ka rem rama e ringra, rem rama mana ka dhako mamuoch kayo; kibaji goya kuom gik mawinjo kendo midhiero omaka kuom gik ma aneno.
4 My heart is bewildered, terror hath overwhelmed me; the twilight that I longed for hath been turned for me into trembling.
Chunya bwok, denda tetni nikech luoro; gombo ma an-go mondo piny imre oselokorena masira.
5 They prepare the table, they light the lamps, they eat, they drink — 'Rise up, ye princes, anoint the shield.'
Negiiko mesa mondo gimethi kendo gichiem, to apoya nono negipo kinyisogi, ni mondo giik gigegi mag lweny.
6 For thus hath the Lord said unto me: Go, set a watchman; let him declare what he seeth!
Ruoth Nyasaye wachona niya, “Dhiyo mondo iket jangʼicho mondo odwok wach kuom gik moneno.
7 And when he seeth a troop, horsemen by pairs, a troop of asses, a troop of camels, he shall hearken diligently with much heed.
Ka oneno geche lweny miywayo gi farese, gi joma oidho punde kata ngamia, to oikre kendo obed motangʼ.”
8 And he cried as a lion: 'Upon the watch-tower, O Lord, I stand continually in the daytime, and I am set in my ward all the nights.'
Kendo jangʼicho nokok niya, “Yaye Ruoth Nyasacha pile ka pile asebedo kar ngʼicho, kendo otieno asiko e kara mar tich.
9 And, behold, there came a troop of men, horsemen by pairs. And he spoke and said: 'Fallen, fallen is Babylon; and all the graven images of her gods are broken unto the ground.'
Ero ngʼato biro koidho gach lweny miywayo gi farese. To ngʼatno nowacho niya, ‘Babulon osepodho, adier osepodho, adier osepodho, kendo nyisechene manono osetur matindo tindo!’”
10 O thou my threshing, and the winnowing of my floor, that which I have heard from the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you.
Yaye ogandana mosenyon piny ka cham midino anyisou gima asewinjo koa kuom Jehova Nyasaye Maratego, ma Nyasach Israel.
11 The burden of Dumah. One calleth unto me out of Seir: 'Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?'
Wach mokor kuom Duma: Ngʼato obiro ira koa Seir, kendo openja monwore niya, “Jarito odongʼ seche adi mondo piny oru? Jarito odongʼ seche adi mondo piny oru?”
12 The watchman said: 'The morning cometh, and also the night — if ye will inquire, inquire ye; return, come.'
Eka jarito nodwoko niya, “Piny chiegni ru, to otieno bende biro chopo. Kidwaro penjo, to penji kendo imed penjo.”
13 The burden upon Arabia. In the thickets in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye caravans of Dedanites.
Wach mokor kuom jo-Arabu: Un jo-Dedan ma jo-ohala mawuotho ka gi kacha ka bworo e thim jo-Arabu,
14 Unto him that is thirsty bring ye water! The inhabitants of the land of Tema did meet the fugitive with his bread.
keluru pi ne joma riyo oloyo, to un mudak Tema, keluru chiemo ne joma oseringo ka pondone lweny.
15 For they fled away from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war.
Giseringone ligangla, ne ligangla mowuodhi, ne atungʼ moywa kendo ne lweny mager.
16 For thus hath the Lord said unto me: 'Within a year, according to the years of a hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail;
Ruoth Nyasaye wachona niya, “Mana kaka ja-otongʼo kwano hike achiel ma tije rumogo e kaka duongʼ mar Kedar norum.
17 and the residue of the number of the archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished; for the LORD, the God of Israel, hath spoken it.'
Joma nok ma gin jolweny mag asere ma gin thuondi man Kedar ema notony. Jehova Nyasaye ma en Nyasach Israel osewacho.”
