Hosea 13
1 When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he became guilty through Baal, he died.
Wenn Ephraim redete, herrschte Schrecken; es war Fürst in Israel. Aber es verschuldete sich durch Götzendienst und starb dahin.
2 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, according to their own understanding, even idols, all of them the work of the craftsmen; of them they say: 'They that sacrifice men kiss calves.'
Und gegenwärtig sündigen sie immer von Neuem: sie haben sich aus ihrem Silber Gußbilder gemacht nach dem Muster von Götzen - Arbeit von Künstlern ist das alles! Das ist's, was diese anreden! Opfernde Menschen küssen Stiere!
3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the dew that early passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the wind out of the threshing-floor, and as the smoke out of the window.
Deshalb werden sie dem Morgengewölke gleich werden und wie der Tau, der früh wieder vergeht, wie Spreu, die von der Tenne verweht wird, und wie Rauch, der durch das Gitter abzieht.
4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt; and thou knowest no God but Me, and beside Me there is no saviour.
Aber ich, Jahwe, bin doch dein Gott von Ägypten her - einen andern, der Gott wäre, kennst du nicht; einen andern, der Heiland wäre, giebt es nicht.
5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
ich war es, der dir in der Steppe, im Lande der Dürre, Weide gab.
6 When they were fed, they became full, they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten Me.
Aber je mehr Weide sie hatten, desto mehr fraßen sie sich satt. Als sie sich satt gefressen hatten, wurden sie übermütig; so kam es, daß sie mich vergaßen.
7 Therefore am I become unto them as a lion; as a leopard will I watch by the way;
Daher erzeige ich mich gegen sie wie ein Löwe, laure ihnen am Wege auf wie ein Panther,
8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the enclosure of their heart; and there will I devour them like a lioness; the wild beast shall tear them.
überfalle sie wie eine der Jungen beraubte Bärin und zerreiße den Panzer ihres Herzens. Dort sollen Jungleuen sie verzehren, die wilden Tiere sie aufschlitzen.
9 It is thy destruction, O Israel, that thou art against Me, against thy help.
Wenn ich dich verderbe, Israel, wer könnte dir da helfen?
10 Ho, now, thy king, that he may save thee in all thy cities! and thy judges, of whom thou saidst: 'Give me a king and princes!'
Wo ist denn nun dein König, daß er dich rette, und alle deine Oberhäupter, daß sie dir Recht schaffen? von denen du sagtest: Man schaffe mir einen König und Oberhäupter!
11 I give thee a king in Mine anger, and take him away in My wrath.
Ja, ich schaffe dir einen König in meinem Zorn und nehme ihn wieder in meinem Grimm!
12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is laid up in store.
Ephraims Schuld ist sicher verschlossen, seine Sünde wohl verwahrt.
13 The throes of a travailing woman shall come upon him; he is an unwise son; for it is time he should not tarry in the place of the breaking forth of children.
Geburtswehen erfassen es; aber es gleicht einem unfügsamen Kinde. Denn wenn es Zeit ist, tritt es nicht in den Muttermund.
14 Shall I ransom them from the power of the nether-world? Shall I redeem them from death? Ho, thy plagues, O death! Ho, thy destruction, O nether-world! Repentance be hid from Mine eyes! (Sheol h7585)
Sollte ich sie aus der Gewalt der Unterwelt befreien, sollte ich sie vom Tod erlösen? Wo sind deine Seuchen, o Tod? Wo sind deine Qualen, o Unterwelt? Meine Augen kennen kein Mitleid mehr! (Sheol h7585)
15 For though he be fruitful among the reed-plants, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD coming up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up; he shall spoil the treasure of all precious vessels.
Denn mag Ephraim auch als Fruchtbaum unter den Bruderstämmen dastehen, es bricht ein Ostwind herein, ein Sturm Jahwes, aus der Steppe sich erhebend, daß seine Brunnen vertrocknen, und seine Quellen versiegen. Er selbst wird seinen Schatz aller kostbaren Kleinode berauben müssen.
16 Samaria shall bear her guilt, for she hath rebelled against her God; they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.
Samaria muß es büßen, daß es gegen seinen Gott widerspenstig war; durch das Schwert sollen sie fallen, die zarten Kinder sollen zerschmettert, die Schwangeren aufgeschlitzt werden.
