Hosea 10

1 Israel was a luxuriant vine, which put forth fruit freely: as his fruit increased, he increased his altars; the more goodly his land was, the more goodly were his pillars.

۱ اسرائیل مو برومند است که میوه برای خود می‌آورد. هر‌چه میوه زیادمی آورد، مذبح‌ها را زیاد می‌سازد و هر‌چه زمینش نیکوتر می‌شود، تماثیل را نیکوتر بنامی کند.

2 Their heart is divided; now shall they bear their guilt; He will break down their altars, He will spoil their pillars.

۲ دل ایشان پر از نفاق است. الان مجرم می‌شوند و او مذبح های ایشان را خراب و تماثیل ایشان را منهدم خواهد ساخت.

3 Surely now shall they say: 'We have no king; for we feared not the LORD; and the king, what can he do for us?'

۳ زیرا که الحال می‌گویند: «پادشاه نداریم چونکه از خداوندنمی ترسیم، پس پادشاه برای ما چه تواند کرد؟»

4 They speak words, they swear falsely, they make covenants; thus judgment springeth up as hemlock in the furrows of the field.

۴ ایشان قسم های دروغ خورده و عهدها بسته، سخنان (باطل ) می‌گویند و عدالت مثل حنظل درشیارهای زمین می‌روید.

5 The inhabitants of Samaria shall be in dread for the calves of Beth-aven; for the people thereof shall mourn over it, and the priests thereof shall tremble for it, for its glory, because it is departed from it.

۵ ساکنان سامره برای گوساله های بیت آون می‌ترسند زیرا که قومش برای آن ماتم می‌گیرند و کاهنانش به جهت جلال او می‌لرزند زیرا که از آن دور شده است.

6 It also shall be carried unto Assyria, for a present to King Contentious; Ephraim shall receive shame, and Israel shall be ashamed of his own counsel.

۶ و آن رانیز به آشور به جهت هدیه برای پادشاه دشمن خواهند برد. افرایم خجالت خواهد کشید واسرائیل از مشورت خود رسوا خواهد شد.

7 As for Samaria, her king is cut off, as foam upon the water.

۷ پادشاه سامره مثل کف بر روی آب نابودمی شود.

8 The high places also of Aven shall be destroyed, even the sin of Israel. The thorn and the thistle shall come up on their altars; and they shall say to the mountains: 'Cover us', and to the hills: 'Fall on us.'

۸ و مکانهای بلند آون که گناه اسرائیل می‌باشد ویران خواهد شد و خار و خس برمذبح های ایشان خواهد رویید و به کوهها خواهدگفت که ما را بپوشانید و به تلها که بر ما بیفتید.

9 From the days of Gibeah thou hast sinned, O Israel; there they stood; no battle was to overtake them in Gibeah, nor the children of arrogancy.

۹ ‌ای اسرائیل از ایام جبعه گناه کرده‌ای. درآنجا ایستادند و جنگ با فرزندان شرارت درجبعه به ایشان نرسید.

10 When it is My desire, I will chastise them; and the peoples shall be gathered against them, when they are yoked to their two rings.

۱۰ هر گاه بخواهم ایشان راتادیب خواهم نمود و قوم‌ها به ضد ایشان جمع خواهند شد، هنگامی که به دو گناه خود بسته شوند.

11 And Ephraim is a heifer well broken, that loveth to thresh, and I have passed over upon her fair neck; I will make Ephraim to ride, Judah shall plow, Jacob shall break his clods.

۱۱ و افرایم گوساله آموخته شده است که کوفتن خرمن را دوست می‌دارد و من بر گردن نیکوی او گذر کردم و من بر افرایم یوغ می‌گذارم. یهودا شیار خواهد کرد و یعقوب مازو برای خودخواهد کشید.

12 Sow to yourselves according to righteousness, reap according to mercy, break up your fallow ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, till He come and cause righteousness to rain upon you.

۱۲ برای خود به عدالت بکارید و به حسب رحمت درو نمایید و زمین ناکاشته را برای خودخیش بزنید زیرا که وقت است که خداوند رابطلبید تا بیاید و بر شما عدالت را بباراند.

13 Ye have plowed wickedness, ye have reaped iniquity, ye have eaten the fruit of lies; for thou didst trust in thy way, in the multitude of thy mighty men.

۱۳ شرارت را شیار کردید و ظلم را درو نمودید وثمره دروغ را خوردید، چونکه به طریق خود و به کثرت جباران خویش اعتماد نمودید.

14 Therefore shall a tumult arise among thy hosts, and all thy fortresses shall be spoiled, as Shalman spoiled Beth-arbel in the day of battle; the mother was dashed in pieces with her children.

۱۴ لهذاهنگامه‌ای در میان قوم های تو خواهد برخاست وتمامی قلعه هایت خراب خواهد شد به نهجی که شلمان، بیت اربیل را در روز جنگ خراب کرد که مادر با فرزندانش خرد شدند.

15 So hath Beth-el done unto you because of your great wickedness; at daybreak is the king of Israel utterly cut off.

۱۵ همچنین بیت ئیل به‌سبب شدت شرارت شما به شما عمل خواهد نمود. در وقت طلوع فجر پادشاه اسرائیل بالکل هلاک خواهد شد.
