Ezra 10

1 Now while Ezra prayed, and made confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there was gathered together unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children; for the people wept very sore.

௧எஸ்றா இப்படி விண்ணப்பம்செய்து, அறிக்கையிட்டு அழுது, தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு முன்பாகத் தாழவிழுந்துகிடக்கும்போது, இஸ்ரவேலில் ஆண்களும் பெண்களும் பிள்ளைகளுமான மகா பெரிய சபை அவனிடத்தில் வந்து கூடினது; மக்கள் மிகவும் அழுதார்கள்.

2 And Shecaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra: 'We have broken faith with our God, and have married foreign women of the peoples of the land; yet now there is hope for Israel concerning this thing.

௨அப்பொழுது ஏலாமின் மகன்களில் ஒருவனாகிய யெகியேலின் மகன் செக்கனியா எஸ்றாவை நோக்கி: நாங்கள் தேசத்து மக்களிலுள்ள அந்நியப் பெண்களைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டதால், எங்கள் தேவனுக்கு விரோதமாகப் பாவம்செய்தோம்; ஆகிலும் இப்பொழுது இந்தக் காரியத்திலே இன்னும் இஸ்ரவேலுக்காக நம்பிக்கை உண்டு.

3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of the LORD, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.

௩இப்பொழுதும் அந்தப் பெண்கள் எல்லோரையும், அவர்களிடத்தில் பிறந்தவர்களையும், என் ஆண்டவனுடைய ஆலோசனைக்கும், நமது தேவனுடைய கற்பனைக்கு நடுங்குகிறவர்களின் ஆலோசனைக்கும் ஏற்றபிரகாரம் அகற்றிப்போடுவோம் என்று நம்முடைய தேவனுடன் உடன்படிக்கை செய்வோமாக; நியாயப்பிரமாணத்தின்படியே செய்யப்படுவதாக.

4 Arise; for the matter belongeth unto thee, and we are with thee; be of good courage, and do it.'

௪எழுந்திரும்; இந்தக் காரியத்தை நடப்பிக்கிறது உமக்குரியது; நாங்களும் உம்மோடு இருப்போம்; நீர் திடன்கொண்டு இதைச் செய்யும் என்றான்.

5 Then arose Ezra, and made the chiefs of the priests, the Levites, and all Israel, to swear that they would do according to this word. So they swore.

௫அப்பொழுது எஸ்றா எழுந்திருந்து, ஆசாரியர்களிலும் லேவியர்களிலும் முக்கியமானவர்களும் இஸ்ரவேல் அனைவரும் இந்த வார்த்தையின்படி செய்ய, அவர்களை ஆணையிடச் சொன்னான்; அவர்கள் ஆணையிட்டார்கள்.

6 Then Ezra rose up from before the house of God, and went into the chamber of Jehohanan the son of Eliashib; and when he came thither, he did eat no bread, nor drink water; for he mourned because of the faithlessness of them of the captivity.

௬அதன்பின்பு எஸ்றா தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு முன்னிருந்து எழுந்து, எலியாசிபின் மகனாகிய யோகனானின் அறைக்குள் சென்றான்; அங்கே வந்தபோது, அவன் சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து வந்தவர்களுடைய குற்றத்தினால் அப்பம் சாப்பிடாமலும் தண்ணீர் குடிக்காமலும் துக்கப்பட்டுக்கொண்டிருந்தான்.

7 And they made proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem unto all the children of the captivity, that they should gather themselves together unto Jerusalem;

௭அப்பொழுது சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து வந்தவர்கள் எல்லோரும் எருசலேமிலே வந்து கூடவேண்டும் என்றும்,

8 and that whosoever came not within three days, according to the counsel of the princes and the elders, all his substance should be forfeited, and himself separated from the congregation of the captivity.

௮மூன்று நாட்களுக்குள்ளே பிரபுக்கள் மூப்பர்களுடைய ஆலோசனையின்படியே எவனாகிலும் வராமல்போனால், அவனுடைய பொருட்களெல்லாம் பறிமுதல் செய்யப்பட்டு, சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து வந்த சபையிலிருந்து அவன் விலக்கப்படுவான் என்றும், யூதாவிலும் எருசலேமிலும் விளம்பரம் செய்தார்கள்.

9 Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within the three days; it was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the broad place before the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.

௯அப்படியே யூதா பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தார் எல்லோரும் மூன்று நாட்களுக்குள்ளே எருசலேமிலே கூடினார்கள்; அது ஒன்பதாம் மாதம் இருபதாம் தேதியாயிருந்தது; மக்கள் எல்லோரும் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்தின் வீதியிலே அந்தக் காரியத்தினாலும் அடைமழையினாலும் நடுங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள்.

10 And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them: 'Ye have broken faith, and have married foreign women, to increase the guilt of Israel.

௧0அப்பொழுது ஆசாரியனாகிய எஸ்றா எழுந்திருந்து அவர்களை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் இருக்கிற குற்றத்தை அதிகரிக்கச்செய்ய, வேறு இனப் பெண்களைத் திருமணம்செய்ததால் பாவம் செய்தீர்கள்.

11 Now therefore make confession unto the LORD, the God of your fathers, and do His pleasure; and separate yourselves from the peoples of the land, and from the foreign women.'

௧௧இப்பொழுதும் நீங்கள் உங்கள் முன்னோர்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் அறிக்கையிட்டு, அவருடைய பிரியத்தின்படியே செய்து, தேசத்தின் மக்களையும், வேறு இனப் பெண்களையும் விட்டுவிலகுங்கள் என்றான்.

12 Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice: 'As thou hast said, so it is for us to do.

௧௨அப்பொழுது சபையார் அனைவரும் மகா சத்தத்தோடே மறுமொழியாக: ஆம், நீர் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளின்படியே செய்யவேண்டியதுதான்.

13 But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two; for we have greatly transgressed in this matter.

௧௩ஆனாலும் மக்கள் திரளாயிருக்கிறார்கள், இது மழைக்காலமுமாக இருக்கிறது, இங்கே வெளியிலே நிற்க எங்களாலே முடியாது; இது ஒருநாள் இரண்டுநாள் வேலையல்ல; இந்தக் காரியத்திலே கட்டளையை மீறினவர்களாகிய நாங்கள் அநேகர்.

14 Let now our princes of all the congregation stand, and let all them that are in our cities that have married foreign women come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God be turned from us, as touching this matter.'

௧௪ஆகையால் இதற்கு சபையெங்கும் எங்கள் பிரபுக்கள் விசாரிப்புக்காரர்களாக ஏற்படுத்தப்படவேண்டும்; இந்தக் காரியத்தினால் நம்முடைய தேவனுக்கு இருக்கிற கடுங்கோபம் எங்களைவிட்டுத் திரும்பும்படி, எங்கள் பட்டணங்களில் வேறு இனமான பெண்களைக்கொண்ட அனைவரும் ஒவ்வொரு பட்டணத்தின் மூப்பரோடும் நியாயாதிபதிகளோடும் குறித்தகாலங்களில் வரவேண்டும் என்றார்கள்.

15 Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahzeiah the son of Tikvah stood up against this matter; and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.

௧௫ஆசகேலின் மகன் யோனத்தானும், திக்காவின் மகன் யக்சியாவும் மாத்திரம் அதை விசாரிப்பதற்காக ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டார்கள்; மெசுல்லாமும், சப்பேதாயி என்னும் லேவியனும் அவர்களுக்கு உதவியாயிருந்தார்கள்.

16 And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain heads of fathers' houses, after their fathers' houses, and all of them by their names, were separated; and they sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.

௧௬சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து வந்தவர்கள் இந்தப்பிரகாரம் செய்தார்கள்; ஆசாரியனாகிய எஸ்றாவும் தங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய குடும்பத்தின்படியே பேர்பேராக அழைக்கப்பட்ட பிதாக்களுடைய வம்சங்களின் தலைவர்கள் அனைவரும், இந்தக் காரியத்தை விசாரிக்கும்படி, பத்தாம் மாதம் முதல் தேதியிலே, தனித்து உட்கார்ந்து,

17 And they were finished with all the men that had married foreign women by the first day of the first month.

௧௭வேறு இனமான பெண்களைத் திருமணம் செய்தவர்கள் எல்லோருடைய காரியத்தையும் முதலாம் மாதம் முதல் தேதியிலே விசாரித்து முடித்தார்கள்.

18 And among the sons of the priests there were found that had married foreign women, namely: of the sons of Jeshua, the son of Jozadak, and his brethren, Maaseiah, and Eliezer, and Jarib, and Gedaliah.

௧௮ஆசாரிய புத்திரரில் மறு ஜாதியான மனைவிகளைக் கொண்டவர்களாகக் காணப்பட்டவர்கள் யாரென்றால்: யோசதாக்கின் மகனாகிய யெசுவாவின் மகன்களிலும் அவனுடைய சகோதரர்களிலும், மாசெயா, எலியேசர், யாரீப், கெதலியா என்பவர்கள்.

19 And they gave their hand that they would put away their wives; and being guilty, they offered a ram of the flock for their guilt.

௧௯இவர்கள் தங்கள் பெண்களைத் தள்ளிவிடுவோம் என்று உறுதிமொழி கொடுத்து; தாங்கள் குற்றவாளிகளானதால் குற்றநிவாரணபலியாக ஒரு ஆட்டுக்கடாவைச் செலுத்தினார்கள்.

20 And of the sons of Immer: Hanani and Zebadiah.

௨0இம்மேரின் மகன்களில் அனானியும், செபதியாவும்,

21 And of the sons of Harim: Maaseiah, and Elijah, and Shemaiah, and Jehiel, and Uzziah.

௨௧ஆரீமின் மகன்களில் மாசெயா, எலியா, செமாயா, யெகியேல், உசியா என்பவர்களும்;

22 And of the sons of Pashhur: Elioenai, Maaseiah, Ishmael, Nethanel, Jozabad, and Elasah.

௨௨பஸ்கூரின் மகன்களில் எலியோனாய், மாசெயா, இஸ்மவேல், நெதனெயேல், யோசபாத், எலாசா என்பவர்களும்;

23 And of the Levites: Jozabad, and Shimei, and Kelaiah — the same is Kelita — Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.

௨௩லேவியர்களில் யோசபாத், சிமேயி, கெலிதா என்னும் பெயர்கொண்ட கெலாயா, பெத்தகியா, யூதா, எலியேசர் என்பவர்களும்;

24 And of the singers: Eliashib; and of the porters: Shallum, and Telem, and Uri.

௨௪பாடகர்களில் எலியாசிபும், வாசல் காவலாளர்களில் சல்லூம், தேலேம், ஊரி என்பவர்களும்;

25 And of Israel: of the sons of Parosh: Ramiah, and Izziah, and Malchijah, and Mijamin, and Eleazar, and Malchijah, and Benaiah.

௨௫மற்ற இஸ்ரவேலருக்குள்ளே பாரோஷின் மகன்களில் ரமீயா, யெசியா, மல்கியா, மியாமின், எலெயாசார், மல்கிஜா, பெனாயா என்பவர்களும்;

26 And of the sons of Elam: Mattaniah, Zechariah, and Jehiel, and Abdi, and Jeremoth, and Elijah.

௨௬ஏலாமின் மகன்களில் மத்தனியா, சகரியா, யெகியேல், அப்தி, யெரிமோத், எலியா என்பவர்களும்;

27 And of the sons of Zattu: Elioenai, Eliashib, Mattaniah, and Jeremoth, and Zabad, and Aziza.

௨௭சத்தூவின் மகன்களில் எலியோனாய், எலியாசிப், மத்தனியா, யெரிமோத், சாபாத், அசிசா என்பவர்களும்;

28 And of the sons of Bebai: Jehohanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, Athlai.

௨௮பெபாயின் மகன்களில் யோகனான், அனனியா, சாபாயி, அத்லாயி என்பவர்களும்;

29 And of the sons of Bani: Meshullam, Malluch, and Adaiah, Jashub, and Sheal, and Ramoth.

௨௯பானியின் மகன்களில் மெசுல்லாம், மல்லூக், அதாயா, யாசுப், செயால், ராமோத் என்பவர்களும்,

30 And of the sons of Pahath-moab: Adna, and Chelal, Benaiah, Maaseiah, Mattaniah, Bezalel, and Binnui, and Manasseh.

௩0பாகாத்மோவாபின் மகன்களில் அத்னா, கெலால், பெனாயா, மாசெயா, மத்தனியா, பெசலெயேல், பின்னூயி, மனாசே என்பவர்களும்;

31 And of the sons of Harim: Eliezer, Isshijah, Malchijah, Shemaiah, Shimeon;

௩௧ஆரீமின் மகன்களில் எலியேசர், இஷியா, மல்கியா, செமாயா, ஷிமியோன்,

32 Benjamin, Malluch, Shemariah.

௩௨பென்யமீன், மல்லூக், செமரியா என்பவர்களும்;

33 Of the sons of Hashum: Mattenai, Mattattah, Zabad, Eliphelet, Jeremai, Manasseh, Shimei.

௩௩ஆசூமின் மகன்களில் மதனாய், மத்தத்தா, சாபாத், எலிப்பெலேத், எரெமாயி, மனாசே, சிமேயி என்பவர்களும்;

34 Of the sons of Bani: Maadai, Amram, and Uel;

௩௪பானியின் மகன்களில் மாதாயி, அம்ராம், ஊவேல்,

35 Benaiah, Bedeiah, Cheluhu;

௩௫பெனாயா, பெதியா, கெல்லூ,

36 Vaniah, Meremoth, Eliashib;

௩௬வனியா, மெரெமோத், எலியாசிப்,

37 Mattaniah, Mattenai, and Jaasai;

௩௭மத்தனியா, மதனாய், யாசாய்,

38 and Bani, and Binnui, Shimei;

௩௮பானி, பின்னூயி, சிமெயி,

39 Shelemiah, and Nathan, and Adaiah;

௩௯செலேமியா, நாத்தான், அதாயா,

40 Machnadebai, Shashai, Sharai;

௪0மக்நாத்பாயி, சாசாயி, சாராயி,

41 Azarel, and Shelemiah, Shemariah;

௪௧அசரெயேல், செலேமியா, செமரியா,

42 Shallum, Amariah, Joseph.

௪௨சல்லூம், அமரியா, யோசேப் என்பவர்களும்;

43 Of the sons of Nebo: Jeiel, Mattithiah, Zabad, Zebina, Jaddai, and Joel, Benaiah.

௪௩நேபோவின் மகன்களில் ஏயெல், மத்தித்தியா, சாபாத், செபினா, யதாய், யோவேல், பெனாயா என்பவர்களுமே.

44 All these had taken foreign wives; and some of them had wives by whom they had children.

௪௪இவர்கள் எல்லோரும் வேறு இனமான பெண்களைத் திருமணம் செய்தவர்கள்; இவர்களில் சிலர் திருமணம்செய்த பெண்களிடத்தில் பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்றிருந்தார்கள்.
