Ezekiel 27
1 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:
Et la parole du Seigneur me vint, disant:
2 'And thou, son of man, take up a lamentation for Tyre,
Et toi, fils de l'homme, chante sur Tyr une lamentation.
3 and say unto Tyre, that dwelleth at the entry of the sea, that is the merchant of the peoples unto many isles: Thus saith the Lord GOD: Thou, O Tyre, hast said: I am of perfect beauty.
Et dis à cette Tyr, qui réside à l'entrée de la mer, dis à ce marché des peuples venant d'une multitude d'îles: Ainsi parle le Seigneur à Tyr: Tu as dit: C'est de moi-même que je tiens ma beauté.
4 Thy borders are in the heart of the seas, thy builders have perfected thy beauty.
Au cœur de la mer, tes fils t'ont revêtue de beauté pour te consacrer à Baal.
5 Of cypress-trees from Senir have they fashioned all thy planks; they have taken cedars from Lebanon to make masts for thee.
Le cèdre de Sénir a servi à construire tes vaisseaux; tes planches ont été prises en des poutres de cyprès du Liban, et pour faire tes mâts on a employé des sapins.
6 Of the oaks of Bashan have they made thine oars; thy deck have they made of ivory inlaid in larch, from the isles of the Kittites.
On a fait tes rames de bois de Basan; on a fait en ivoire tes choses saintes, et tes chambres ombragées d'arbres en bois des Iles de Cétim.
7 Of fine linen with richly woven work from Egypt was thy sail, that it might be to thee for an ensign; blue and purple from the isles of Elishah was thine awning.
Le fin lin d'Égypte avec des broderies a formé ta couche; il en a été l'ornement; tu as été vêtue d'hyacinthe et de la pourpre des îles d'Élisa; c'était là ton manteau.
8 The inhabitants of Sidon and Arvad were thy rowers; thy wise men, O Tyre, were in thee, they were thy pilots.
Et tes princes, ceux qui habitent Sidon, et ceux d'Arad, te servaient de rameurs; et tes sages, ô Tyr, ceux qui résidaient en toi, étaient là tes pilotes.
9 The elders of Gebal and the wise men thereof were in thee thy calkers; all the ships of the sea with their mariners were in thee to exchange thy merchandise.
Les anciens de Biblos et leurs sages, ceux qui étaient en toi, ceux-là fortifiaient ton conseil. Et tous les navires de la mer, et tous leurs rameurs trafiquaient pour toi, jusqu'aux confins de l'Occident.
10 Persia and Lud and Put were in thine army, thy men of war; they hanged the shield and helmet in thee, they set forth thy comeliness.
Les Perses, les Lydiens, les Libyens étaient dans ton armée; tes hommes de guerre avaient suspendu chez toi leurs boucliers et leurs casques, pour servir à ta gloire.
11 The men of Arvad and Helech were upon thy walls round about, and the Gammadim were in thy towers; they hanged their shields upon thy walls round about; they have perfected thy beauty.
Les fils d'Arad et ton armée étaient sur tes remparts; ils faisaient bonne garde sur tes tours; ils avaient suspendu leurs carquois autour de tes édifices; c'était l'achèvement de ta beauté.
12 Tarshish was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of all kinds of riches; with silver, iron, tin, and lead, they traded for thy wares.
Les Carthaginois, par leur trafic, t'apportaient une grande part de tes richesses; ils remplissaient ton marché d'argent, d'or, de fer, d'étain et de plomb.
13 Javan, Tubal, and Meshech, they were thy traffickers; they traded the persons of men and vessels of brass for thy merchandise.
La Grèce tout entière et ses colons entraient chez toi avec des âmes d'hommes, et ils apportaient sur ton marché des vases d'airain.
14 They of the house of Togarmah traded for thy wares with horses and horsemen and mules.
Ils t'amenaient des chevaux de Thogarma et des cavaliers.
15 The men of Dedan were thy traffickers; many isles were the mart of thy hand; they brought thee as tribute horns of ivory and ebony.
Les fils des Rhodiens trafiquaient avec toi; ils multipliaient sur ton marché ce qui provenait des îles; ils t'apportaient des dents d'éléphants; et à ceux qui entraient chez toi, tu donnais des marchandises en échange:
16 Aram was thy merchant by reason of the multitude of thy wealth; they traded for thy wares with carbuncles, purple, and richly woven work, and fine linen, and coral, and rubies.
Des esclaves pris dans la multitude de ceux que tu avais à vendre, de l'huile de myrrhe et des broderies de Tharsis; Rhamoth et Chorchor approvisionnaient aussi ton marché.
17 Judah, and the land of Israel, they were thy traffickers; they traded for thy merchandise wheat of Minnith, and balsam, and honey, and oil, and balm.
Juda et les fils d'Israël trafiquaient avec toi; ils te vendaient du blé, des parfums et de la cannelle; ils t'apportaient le meilleur miel, de l'huile et de la résine pour tes marchands.
18 Damascus was thy merchant for the multitude of thy wealth, by reason of the multitude of all riches, with the wine of Helbon, and white wool.
Damas trafiquait avec toi; ils t'achetaient une part de la multitude de tes marchandises, du vin de Chelbon, des laines de Milet.
19 Vedan and Javan traded with yarn for thy wares; massive iron, cassia, and calamus, were among thy merchandise.
Et ils apportaient du vin sur ton marché. D'Asel venaient chez tes marchands du fer travaillé et des roues.
20 Dedan was thy trafficker in precious cloths for riding.
Dédan trafiquait avec toi; elle t'amenait des bêtes de somme, choisies pour les chars.
21 Arabia, and all the princes of Kedar, they were the merchants of thy hand; in lambs, and rams, and goats, in these were they thy merchants.
L'Arabie et tous les princes de Cédar trafiquaient avec toi; ils venaient chez toi avec des chameaux, des agneaux et des béliers.
22 The traffickers of Sheba and Raamah, they were thy traffickers; they traded for thy wares with chief of all spices, and with all precious stones, and gold.
Les marchands de Saba et de Rhamma trafiquaient avec toi; ils apportaient à ton marché les épices les plus recherchées, des pierres précieuses et de l'or.
23 Haran and Canneh and Eden, the traffickers of Sheba, Asshur was as thine apprentice in traffic.
Charrha et Chanaa trafiquaient avec toi; Assur et Charman trafiquaient avec toi.
24 These were thy traffickers in gorgeous fabrics, in wrappings of blue and richly woven work, and in chests of rich apparel, bound with cords and cedar-lined, among thy merchandise.
Ils t'apportaient de l'hyacinthe et des ballots de marchandises précieuses, attachés avec des cordes, et des bois de cyprès
25 The ships of Tarshish brought thee tribute for thy merchandise; so wast thou replenished, and made very heavy in the heart of the seas.
Pour en faire des navires. Ceux qui trafiquaient avec toi se mêlaient à la multitude de tes marchands, et tu étais remplie et pesamment chargée au cœur de la mer.
26 Thy rowers have brought thee into great waters; the east wind hath broken thee in the heart of the seas.
Tes rameurs t'ont conduite dans les grandes eaux; et le souffle du midi t'a brisée au cœur de la mer.
27 Thy riches, and thy wares, thy merchandise, thy mariners, and thy pilots, thy calkers, and the exchangers of thy merchandise, and all thy men of war, that are in thee, with all thy company which is in the midst of thee, shall fall into the heart of the seas in the day of thy ruin.
Tes richesses, tes trésors, ceux de tes marchands; tes rameurs, tes pilotes, tes conseillers; ces hommes qui trafiquent avec toi, ces guerriers qui sont chez toi, toute la multitude rassemblée en toi, tomberont au cœur de la mer le jour de ta ruine.
28 At the sound of the cry of thy pilots the waves shall shake.
Au cri de ta voix, tes pilotes seront frappés d'épouvante.
29 And all that handle the oar, the mariners, and all the pilots of the sea, shall come down from their ships, they shall stand upon the land,
Tous tes rameurs, tous tes matelots descendront des navires; tous les pilotes de la mer resteront sur le rivage.
30 And shall cause their voice to be heard over thee, and shall cry bitterly, and shall cast up dust upon their heads, they shall roll themselves in the ashes;
Et ils te plaindront à haute voix, et ils crieront amèrement, et ils mettront de la poussière sur leurs têtes, et ils se couvriront de cendre.
31 And they shall make themselves utterly bald for thee, and gird them with sackcloth, and they shall weep for thee in bitterness of soul with bitter lamentation.
Et leurs fils feront sur toi une lamentation, une complainte sur Tyr, disant:
32 And in their wailing they shall take up a lamentation for thee, and lament over thee: who was there like Tyre, fortified in the midst of the sea?
Et leurs fils feront sur toi une lamentation, une complainte sur Tyr, disant:
33 When thy wares came forth out of the seas, thou didst fill many peoples; with the multitude of thy riches and of thy merchandise didst thou enrich the kings of the earth.
Quel profit as-tu retiré de la mer? Tu avais rempli de ton abondance toutes les nations; tu avais enrichi par ton trafic tous les rois de la terre.
34 Now that thou art broken by the seas in the depths of the waters, and thy merchandise and all thy company are fallen in the midst of thee,
Maintenant tu es brisée dans la mer; tes trafiquants sont au fond de l'abîme, avec toute la multitude assemblée en toi.
35 All the inhabitants of the isles are appalled at thee, and their kings are horribly afraid, they are troubled in their countenance;
Tous tes rameurs sont tombés; tous les habitants des îles se sont affligés sur toi; leurs rois ont été saisis de stupeur, et leur visage s'est couvert de larme.
36 The merchants among the peoples hiss at thee; thou art become a terror, and never shalt be any more.'
Les marchands des nations t'ont sifflée; tu es perdue, et tu ne seras plus dans les siècles.
