Ezekiel 15

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying:

Y fue palabra de Jehová a mí, diciendo:

2 'Son of man, what is the vine-tree more than any tree, the vine branch which grew up among the trees of the forest?

Hijo del hombre, ¿qué es el palo de la vid más que todo palo? ¿el sarmiento, qué es entre los maderos del monte?

3 Shall wood be taken thereof to make any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?

¿Tomarán de él madera para hacer alguna obra? ¿Tomarán de él una estaca para colgar de ella algún vaso?

4 Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire hath devoured both the ends of it, and the midst of it is singed; is it profitable for any work?

He aquí que es puesto en el fuego para ser consumido, sus dos cabos consumió el fuego, y la parte del medio se quemó: ¿aprovechará para alguna obra?

5 Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work; how much less, when the fire hath devoured it, and it is singed, shall it yet be meet for any work?

He aquí que cuando estaba entero, no era para alguna obra, ¿cuánto menos después que el fuego lo hubiere consumido, y fuere quemado? ¿será más para alguna obra?

6 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: As the vine-tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so do I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Por tanto así dijo el Señor Jehová: Como el palo de la vid entre los maderos del monte, el cual yo entregué al fuego, para que lo consuma, así he entregado a los moradores de Jerusalem.

7 And I will set My face against them; out of the fire are they come forth, and the fire shall devour them; and ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I set My face against them.

Y pondré mi rostro contra ellos; de un fuego salieron, y otro fuego los consumirá; y sabréis que yo soy Jehová, cuando yo pusiere mi rostro contra ellos.

8 And I will make the land desolate, because they have acted treacherously, saith the Lord GOD.'

Y tornaré la tierra en asolación, por cuanto rebelaron con rebelión, dijo el Señor Jehová.
