Exodus 6

1 And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh; for by a strong hand shall he let them go, and by a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land.'

Le Seigneur dit à Moïse: C’est maintenant que tu verras ce que je vais faire à Pharaon; car par l’effet d’une main puissante il les laissera aller, et en vertu d’une main forte, il les pressera de sortir de son pays.

2 And God spoke unto Moses, and said unto him: 'I am the LORD;

Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, disant: Je suis le Seigneur,

3 and I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, as God Almighty, but by My name Jehovah I made Me not known to them.

Qui ai apparu à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob en Dieu tout-puissant; mais mon nom Adonaï, je ne le leur ai pas manifesté.

4 And I have also established My covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their sojournings, wherein they sojourned.

Et j’ai fait alliance avec eux, afin de leur donner la terre de Chanaan, terre de leur pèlerinage dans laquelle ils ont été étrangers.

5 And moreover I have heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered My covenant.

J’ai entendu le gémissement des enfants d’Israël, que les Egyptiens ont opprimés; et je me suis souvenu de mon alliance.

6 Wherefore say unto the children of Israel: I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm, and with great judgments;

C’est pourquoi dis aux enfants d’Israël: Je suis le Seigneur qui vous tirerai de la prison des Egyptiens, et vous délivrerai de la servitude: et je vous rachèterai par un bras élevé et de grands jugements.

7 and I will take you to Me for a people, and I will be to you a God; and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians.

Et je vous prendrai pour mon peuple, et je serai votre Dieu; ainsi vous saurez que c’est moi, qui suis le Seigneur votre Dieu, qui vous aurai tirés de la prison des Egyptiens,

8 And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning which I lifted up My hand to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for a heritage: I am the LORD.'

Et fait entrer dans la terre, sur laquelle j’ai levé la main, jurant que je la donnerais à Abraham, à Isaac et à Jacob; car je vous la donnerai en possession, moi le Seigneur.

9 And Moses spoke so unto the children of Israel; but they hearkened not unto Moses for impatience of spirit, and for cruel bondage.

Moïse raconta donc toutes ces choses aux enfants d’Israël, qui ne l’écoutèrent pas à cause de l’angoisse de leur esprit et de leur travail très pénible.

10 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant:

11 'Go in, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, that he let the children of Israel go out of his land.'

Entre, et parle à Pharaon, roi d’Egypte, pour qu’il laisse sortir les enfants d’Israël de son pays.

12 And Moses spoke before the LORD, saying: 'Behold, the children of Israel have not hearkened unto me; how then shall Pharaoh hear me, who am of uncircumcised lips?'

Moïse répondit devant le Seigneur: Voilà que les enfants d’Israël ne m’écoutent pas: et comment Pharaon m’écoutera-t-il, surtout moi étant incirconcis des lèvres?

13 And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, and gave them a charge unto the children of Israel, and unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt.

C’est ainsi que le Seigneur parla à Moïse et Aaron et qu’il leur donna ses ordres pour les enfants d’Israël et pour Pharaon, roi d’Egypte, afin qu’ils fissent sortir les enfants d’Israël de la terre d’Egypte.

14 These are the heads of their fathers' houses: the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi. These are the families of Reuben.

Voici les chefs des maisons selon leurs familles: Les fils de Ruben, premier-né d’Israël: Hénoch et Phallu, Hesron et Charmi:

15 And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman. These are the families of Simeon.

C’est là la parenté de Ruben. Les fils de Siméon: Jamuel, Jamin, Ahod, Jachin, Soar et Saül, fils d’une Chananéenne. C’est là la race de Siméon.

16 And these are the names of the sons of Levi according to their generations: Gershon and Kohath, and Merari. And the years of the life of Levi were a hundred thirty and seven years.

Et voici les noms des fils de Lévi, selon leur parenté: Gerson, Caath et Mérari. Or les années de la vie de Lévi furent cent trente-sept.

17 The sons of Gershon: Libni and Shimei, according to their families.

Les fils de Gerson: Lobni et Séméi, selon leur parenté.

18 And the sons of Kohath: Amram, and Izhar, and Hebron, and Uzziel. And the years of the life of Kohath were a hundred thirty and three years.

Les fils de Caath: Amram-Isaar, Hébron et Oziel: et les années de la vie de Caath furent cent trente-trois.

19 And the sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their generations.

Les fils de Mérari: Moholi et Musi: c’est là la parenté de Lévi selon ses familles.

20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bore him Aaron and Moses. And the years of the life of Amram were a hundred and thirty and seven years.

Or Amram prit pour femme Jochabed, fille de son oncle paternel, laquelle lui enfanta Aaron et Moïse. Et les années de la vie d’Amram furent cent trente-sept.

21 And the sons of Izhar: Korah, and Nepheg, and Zichri.

Les fils d’Isaar: Coré, Nepheg et Zéchri.

22 And the sons of Uzziel: Mishael, and Elzaphan, and Sithri.

Les fils d’Oziel: Misaël, Elisaphan et Séthri

23 And Aaron took him Elisheba, the daughter of Amminadab, the sister of Nahshon, to wife; and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.

Or Aaron prit pour femme Elisabeth, fille d’Aminadab, sœur de Nahasson, laquelle lui enfanta Nadab, Abiu, Eléazar et Ithamar.

24 And the sons of Korah: Assir, and Elkanah, and Abiasaph; these are the families of the Korahites.

Les fils de Coré: Aser, Elcana, et Abiasaph: c’est là la parenté des Corites.

25 And Eleazar Aaron's son took him one of the daughters of Putiel to wife; and she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers' houses of the Levites according to their families.

Mais Eléazar, fils d’Aaron, prit une femme d’entre les filles le Phutiel, laquelle lui enfanta Phinéès. Ce sont là les chefs des familles lévitiques selon leur parenté.

26 These are that Aaron and Moses, to whom the LORD said: 'Bring out the children of Israel from the land of Egypt according to their hosts.'

C’est Aaron et Moïse auxquels le Seigneur commanda de retirer les enfants d’Israël de l’Egypte, selon leurs bandes.

27 These are they that spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt, to bring out the children of Israel from Egypt. These are that Moses and Aaron.

Ce sont eux qui parlent à Pharaon, roi d’Egypte, pour qu’ils retirent les enfants d’Israël de l’Egypte: c’est Moïse et Aaron,

28 And it came to pass on the day when the LORD spoke unto Moses in the land of Egypt,

Au jour où le Seigneur parla à Moïse dans la terre d’Egypte.

29 that the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying: 'I am the LORD; speak thou unto Pharaoh king of Egypt all that I speak unto thee.'

Et le Seigneur parla à Moïse, disant: Je suis le Seigneur; dis à Pharaon, roi d’Egypte, tout ce que moi-même je te dis.

30 And Moses said before the LORD: 'Behold, I am of uncircumcised lips, and how shall Pharaoh hearken unto me?'

Et Moïse répondit devant le Seigneur: Voici que je suis incirconcis des lèvres, comment Pharaon m’écoutera-t-il?
