Ecclesiastes 10
1 Dead flies make the ointment of the perfumer fetid and putrid; so doth a little folly outweigh wisdom and honour.
౧పరిమళ తైలంలో ఈగలు పడి చస్తే అది దుర్వాసన కొడుతుంది. కొంచెం మూర్ఖత్వం త్రాసులో వేసి చూస్తే జ్ఞానాన్ని, గౌరవాన్ని తేలగొడుతుంది.
2 A wise man's understanding is at his right hand; but a fool's understanding at his left.
౨జ్ఞాని హృదయం అతణ్ణి కుడి చేతితో పని చెయ్యిస్తుంది, మూర్ఖుడి హృదయం అతని ఎడమ చేతితో పని చేయిస్తుంది.
3 Yea also, when a fool walketh by the way, his understanding faileth him, and he saith to every one that he is a fool.
౩మూర్ఖుడు మార్గంలో సరిగా నడుచుకోవడం చేతకాక తాను మూర్ఖుణ్ణి అని అందరికి తెలిసేలా చేసుకుంటాడు.
4 If the spirit of the ruler rise up against thee, leave not thy place; for gentleness allayeth great offences.
౪యజమాని నీ మీద కోపపడితే నీ ఉద్యోగాన్ని విడిచి పెట్టకు. నీ సహనం ఘోరమైన తప్పిదాలు జరక్కుండా చేస్తుంది.
5 There is an evil which I have seen under the sun, like an error which proceedeth from a ruler:
౫రాజులు పొరపాటుగా చేసే అన్యాయం నేను ఒకటి చూశాను.
6 Folly is set on great heights, and the rich sit in low place.
౬ఏమంటే మూర్ఖులను పెద్ద పదవుల్లో, గొప్పవారిని వారి కింద నియమించడం.
7 I have seen servants upon horses, and princes walking as servants upon the earth.
౭సేవకులు గుర్రాల మీద స్వారీ చేయడం, అధిపతులు సేవకుల్లా నేల మీద నడవడం నాకు కనిపించింది.
8 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh through a fence, a serpent shall bite him.
౮గొయ్యి తవ్వేవాడు కూడా దానిలో పడే అవకాశం ఉంది. ప్రహరీ గోడ పడగొట్టే వాణ్ణి పాము కరిచే అవకాశం ఉంది.
9 Whoso quarrieth stones shall be hurt therewith; and he that cleaveth wood is endangered thereby.
౯రాళ్లు దొర్లించే వాడికి అది గాయం కలిగించవచ్చు. చెట్లు నరికే వాడికి దానివలన అపాయం కలగొచ్చు.
10 If the iron be blunt, and one do not whet the edge, then must he put to more strength; but wisdom is profitable to direct.
౧౦ఇనుప పనిముట్టు మొద్దుగా ఉంటే పనిలో ఎక్కువ బలం ఉపయోగించాల్సి వస్తుంది. అయితే జ్ఞానం విజయానికి ఉపయోగపడుతుంది.
11 If the serpent bite before it is charmed, then the charmer hath no advantage.
౧౧పామును లోబరచుకోక ముందే అది కరిస్తే దాన్ని లోబరచుకునే నైపుణ్యం వలన ప్రయోజనం లేదు.
12 The words of a wise man's mouth are gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself.
౧౨జ్ఞాని పలికే మాటలు వినడానికి ఇంపుగా ఉంటాయి. అయితే మూర్ఖుడి మాటలు వాడినే మింగివేస్తాయి.
13 The beginning of the words of his mouth is foolishness; and the end of his talk is grievous madness.
౧౩వాడి నోటిమాటలు మూర్ఖత్వంతో ప్రారంభమౌతాయి, వెర్రితనంతో ముగుస్తాయి.
14 A fool also multiplieth words; yet man knoweth not what shall be; and that which shall be after him, who can tell him?
౧౪ఏమి జరగబోతున్నదో తెలియకపోయినా మూర్ఖులు అతిగా మాట్లాడతారు. మనిషి చనిపోయిన తరవాత ఏం జరుగుతుందో ఎవరు చెబుతారు?
15 The labour of fools wearieth every one of them, for he knoweth not how to go to the city.
౧౫మూర్ఖులు తాము వెళ్ళాల్సిన దారి తెలియనంతగా తమ కష్టంతో ఆయాసపడతారు.
16 Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a boy, and thy princes feast in the morning!
౧౬ఒక దేశానికి బాలుడు రాజుగా ఉండడం, ఉదయాన్నే భోజనానికి కూర్చునే వారు అధిపతులుగా ఉండడం అరిష్టం.
17 Happy art thou, O land, when thy king is a free man, and thy princes eat in due season, in strength, and not in drunkenness!
౧౭అలా కాక దేశానికి రాజు గొప్ప ఇంటివాడుగా, దాని అధిపతులు మత్తు కోసం కాక బలం కోసం సరైన సమయంలో భోజనానికి కూర్చునే వారుగా ఉండడం శుభకరం.
18 By slothfulness the rafters sink in; and through idleness of the hands the house leaketh.
౧౮సోమరితనం ఇంటికప్పు దిగబడిపోయేలా చేస్తుంది. చేతులు బద్ధకంగా ఉంటే ఆ ఇల్లు కురుస్తుంది.
19 A feast is made for laughter, and wine maketh glad the life; and money answereth all things.
౧౯విందు వినోదాలు మనకి నవ్వు, ఆనందం పుట్టిస్తాయి. ద్రాక్షారసం ప్రాణాలకి సంతోషం ఇస్తుంది. ప్రతి అవసరానికి డబ్బు తోడ్పడుతుంది.
20 Curse not the king, no, not in thy thought, and curse not the rich in thy bedchamber; for a bird of the air shall carry the voice, and that which hath wings shall tell the matter.
౨౦నీ మనస్సులో కూడా రాజును శపించవద్దు, నీ పడక గదిలో కూడా ధనవంతులను శపించవద్దు. ఎందుకంటే ఏ పక్షి అయినా ఆ సమాచారాన్ని మోసుకుపోవచ్చు. రెక్కలున్న ఏదైనా సంగతులను తెలియజేయవచ్చు.
