Deuteronomy 32
1 Give ear, ye heavens, and I will speak; and let the earth hear the words of my mouth.
१“हे आकाश कान लगा, कि मैं बोलूँ; और हे पृथ्वी, मेरे मुँह की बातें सुन।
2 My doctrine shall drop as the rain, my speech shall distil as the dew; as the small rain upon the tender grass, and as the showers upon the herb.
२मेरा उपदेश मेंह के समान बरसेगा और मेरी बातें ओस के समान टपकेंगी, जैसे कि हरी घास पर झींसी, और पौधों पर झड़ियाँ।
3 For I will proclaim the name of the LORD; ascribe ye greatness unto our God.
३मैं तो यहोवा के नाम का प्रचार करूँगा। तुम अपने परमेश्वर की महिमा को मानो!
4 The Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice; a God of faithfulness and without iniquity, just and right is He.
४“वह चट्टान है, उसका काम खरा है; और उसकी सारी गति न्याय की है। वह सच्चा परमेश्वर है, उसमें कुटिलता नहीं, वह धर्मी और सीधा है।
5 Is corruption His? No; His children's is the blemish; a generation crooked and perverse.
५परन्तु इसी जाति के लोग टेढ़े और तिरछे हैं; ये बिगड़ गए, ये उसके पुत्र नहीं; यह उनका कलंक है।
6 Do ye thus requite the LORD, O foolish people and unwise? is not He thy father that hath gotten thee? hath He not made thee, and established thee?
६हे मूर्ख और निर्बुद्धि लोगों, क्या तुम यहोवा को यह बदला देते हो? क्या वह तेरा पिता नहीं है, जिसने तुम को मोल लिया है? उसने तुझको बनाया और स्थिर भी किया है।
7 Remember the days of old, consider the years of many generations; ask thy father, and he will declare unto thee, thine elders, and they will tell thee.
७प्राचीनकाल के दिनों को स्मरण करो, पीढ़ी-पीढ़ी के वर्षों को विचारों; अपने बाप से पूछो, और वह तुम को बताएगा; अपने वृद्ध लोगों से प्रश्न करो, और वे तुझ से कह देंगे।
8 When the Most High gave to the nations their inheritance, when He separated the children of men, He set the borders of the peoples according to the number of the children of Israel.
८जब परमप्रधान ने एक-एक जाति को निज-निज भाग बाँट दिया, और आदमियों को अलग-अलग बसाया, तब उसने देश-देश के लोगों की सीमाएँ इस्राएलियों की गिनती के अनुसार ठहराई।
9 For the portion of the LORD is His people, Jacob the lot of His inheritance.
९क्योंकि यहोवा का अंश उसकी प्रजा है; याकूब उसका नपा हुआ निज भाग है।
10 He found him in a desert land, and in the waste, a howling wilderness; He compassed him about, He cared for him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.
१०“उसने उसको जंगल में, और सुनसान और गरजनेवालों से भरी हुई मरूभूमि में पाया; उसने उसके चारों ओर रहकर उसकी रक्षा की, और अपनी आँख की पुतली के समान उसकी सुधि रखी।
11 As an eagle that stirreth up her nest, hovereth over her young, spreadeth abroad her wings, taketh them, beareth them on her pinions —
११जैसे उकाब अपने घोंसले को हिला-हिलाकर अपने बच्चों के ऊपर-ऊपर मण्डराता है, वैसे ही उसने अपने पंख फैलाकर उसको अपने परों पर उठा लिया।
12 The LORD alone did lead him, and there was no strange god with Him.
१२यहोवा अकेला ही उसकी अगुआई करता रहा, और उसके संग कोई पराया देवता न था।
13 He made him ride on the high places of the earth, and he did eat the fruitage of the field; and He made him to suck honey out of the crag, and oil out of the flinty rock;
१३उसने उसको पृथ्वी के ऊँचे-ऊँचे स्थानों पर सवार कराया, और उसको खेतों की उपज खिलाई; उसने उसे चट्टान में से मधु और चकमक की चट्टान में से तेल चुसाया।
14 Curd of kine, and milk of sheep, with fat of lambs, and rams of the breed of Bashan, and he-goats, with the kidney-fat of wheat; and of the blood of the grape thou drankest foaming wine.
१४गायों का दही, और भेड़-बकरियों का दूध, मेम्नों की चर्बी, बकरे और बाशान की जाति के मेढ़े, और गेहूँ का उत्तम से उत्तम आटा भी खाया; और तू दाखरस का मधु पिया करता था।
15 But Jeshurun waxed fat, and kicked — thou didst wax fat, thou didst grow thick, thou didst become gross — and he forsook God who made him, and contemned the Rock of his salvation.
१५“परन्तु यशूरून मोटा होकर लात मारने लगा; तू मोटा और हष्ट-पुष्ट हो गया, और चर्बी से छा गया है; तब उसने अपने सृजनहार परमेश्वर को तज दिया, और अपने उद्धार चट्टान को तुच्छ जाना।
16 They roused Him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations did they provoke Him.
१६उन्होंने पराए देवताओं को मानकर उसमें जलन उपजाई; और घृणित कर्म करके उसको रिस दिलाई।
17 They sacrificed unto demons, no-gods, gods that they knew not, new gods that came up of late, which your fathers dreaded not.
१७उन्होंने पिशाचों के लिये जो परमेश्वर न थे बलि चढ़ाए, और उनके लिये वे अनजाने देवता थे, वे तो नये-नये देवता थे जो थोड़े ही दिन से प्रगट हुए थे, और जिनसे उनके पुरखा कभी डरे नहीं।
18 Of the Rock that begot thee thou wast unmindful, and didst forget God that bore thee.
१८जिस चट्टान से तू उत्पन्न हुआ उसको तू भूल गया, और परमेश्वर जिससे तेरी उत्पत्ति हुई उसको भी तू भूल गया है।
19 And the LORD saw, and spurned, because of the provoking of His sons and His daughters.
१९“इन बातों को देखकर यहोवा ने उन्हें तुच्छ जाना, क्योंकि उसके बेटे-बेटियों ने उसे रिस दिलाई थी।
20 And He said: 'I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end shall be; for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faithfulness.
२०तब उसने कहा, ‘मैं उनसे अपना मुख छिपा लूँगा, और देखूँगा कि उनका अन्त कैसा होगा, क्योंकि इस जाति के लोग बहुत टेढ़े हैं और धोखा देनेवाले पुत्र हैं।
21 They have roused Me to jealousy with a no-god; they have provoked Me with their vanities; and I will rouse them to jealousy with a no-people; I will provoke them with a vile nation.
२१उन्होंने ऐसी वस्तु को जो परमेश्वर नहीं है मानकर, मुझ में जलन उत्पन्न की; और अपनी व्यर्थ वस्तुओं के द्वारा मुझे रिस दिलाई। इसलिए मैं भी उनके द्वारा जो मेरी प्रजा नहीं हैं उनके मन में जलन उत्पन्न करूँगा; और एक मूर्ख जाति के द्वारा उन्हें रिस दिलाऊँगा।
22 For a fire is kindled in My nostril, and burneth unto the depths of the nether-world, and devoureth the earth with her produce, and setteth ablaze the foundations of the mountains. (Sheol h7585)
२२क्योंकि मेरे कोप की आग भड़क उठी है, जो पाताल की तह तक जलती जाएगी, और पृथ्वी अपनी उपज समेत भस्म हो जाएगी, और पहाड़ों की नींवों में भी आग लगा देगी। (Sheol h7585)
23 I will heap evils upon them; I will spend Mine arrows upon them;
२३“मैं उन पर विपत्ति पर विपत्ति भेजूँगा; और उन पर मैं अपने सब तीरों को छोड़ूँगा।
24 The wasting of hunger, and the devouring of the fiery bolt, and bitter destruction; and the teeth of beasts will I send upon them, with the venom of crawling things of the dust.
२४वे भूख से दुबले हो जाएँगे, और अंगारों से और कठिन महारोगों से ग्रसित हो जाएँगे; और मैं उन पर पशुओं के दाँत लगवाऊँगा, और धूलि पर रेंगनेवाले सर्पों का विष छोड़ दूँगा।
25 Without shall the sword bereave, and in the chambers terror; slaying both young man and virgin, the suckling with the man of gray hairs.
२५बाहर वे तलवार से मरेंगे, और कोठरियों के भीतर भय से; क्या कुँवारे और कुँवारियाँ, क्या दूध पीता हुआ बच्चा क्या पक्के बाल वाले, सब इसी प्रकार बर्बाद होंगे।
26 I thought I would make an end of them, I would make their memory cease from among men;
२६मैंने कहा था, कि मैं उनको दूर-दूर तक तितर-बितर करूँगा, और मनुष्यों में से उनका स्मरण तक मिटा डालूँगा;
27 Were it not that I dreaded the enemy's provocation, lest their adversaries should misdeem, lest they should say: Our hand is exalted, and not the LORD hath wrought all this.'
२७परन्तु मुझे शत्रुओं की छेड़-छाड़ का डर था, ऐसा न हो कि द्रोही इसको उलटा समझकर यह कहने लगें, ‘हम अपने ही बाहुबल से प्रबल हुए, और यह सब यहोवा से नहीं हुआ।’
28 For they are a nation void of counsel, and there is no understanding in them.
२८“क्योंकि इस्राएल जाति युक्तिहीन है, और इनमें समझ है ही नहीं।
29 If they were wise, they would understand this, they would discern their latter end.
२९भला होता कि ये बुद्धिमान होते, कि इसको समझ लेते, और अपने अन्त का विचार करते!
30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had given them over and the LORD had delivered them up?
३०यदि उनकी चट्टान ही उनको न बेच देती, और यहोवा उनको दूसरों के हाथ में न कर देता; तो यह कैसे हो सकता कि उनके हजार का पीछा एक मनुष्य करता, और उनके दस हजार को दो मनुष्य भगा देते?
31 For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
३१क्योंकि जैसी हमारी चट्टान है वैसी उनकी चट्टान नहीं है, चाहे हमारे शत्रु ही क्यों न न्यायी हों।
32 For their vine is of the vine of Sodom, and of the fields of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of gall, their clusters are bitter;
३२क्योंकि उनकी दाखलता सदोम की दाखलता से निकली, और गमोरा की दाख की बारियों में की है; उनकी दाख विषभरी और उनके गुच्छे कड़वे हैं;
33 Their wine is the venom of serpents, and the cruel poison of asps.
३३उनका दाखमधु साँपों का सा विष और काले नागों का सा हलाहल है।
34 'Is not this laid up in store with Me, sealed up in My treasuries?
३४“क्या यह बात मेरे मन में संचित, और मेरे भण्डारों में मुहरबन्द नहीं है?
35 Vengeance is Mine, and recompense, against the time when their foot shall slip; for the day of their calamity is at hand, and the things that are to come upon them shall make haste.
३५पलटा लेना और बदला देना मेरा ही काम है, यह उनके पाँव फिसलने के समय प्रगट होगा; क्योंकि उनकी विपत्ति का दिन निकट है, और जो दुःख उन पर पड़नेवाले हैं वे शीघ्र आ रहे हैं।
36 For the LORD will judge His people, and repent Himself for His servants; when He seeth that their stay is gone, and there is none remaining, shut up or left at large.
३६क्योंकि जब यहोवा देखेगा कि मेरी प्रजा की शक्ति जाती रही, और क्या बन्धुआ और क्या स्वाधीन, उनमें कोई बचा नहीं रहा, तब यहोवा अपने लोगों का न्याय करेगा, और अपने दासों के विषय में तरस खाएगा।
37 And it is said: Where are their gods, the rock in whom they trusted;
३७तब वह कहेगा, उनके देवता कहाँ हैं, अर्थात् वह चट्टान कहाँ जिस पर उनका भरोसा था,
38 Who did eat the fat of their sacrifices, and drank the wine of their drink-offering? let him rise up and help you, let him be your protection.
३८जो उनके बलिदानों की चर्बी खाते, और उनके तपावनों का दाखमधु पीते थे? वे ही उठकर तुम्हारी सहायता करें, और तुम्हारी आड़ हों!
39 See now that I, even I, am He, and there is no god with Me; I kill, and I make alive; I have wounded, and I heal; and there is none that can deliver out of My hand.
३९“इसलिए अब तुम देख लो कि मैं ही वह हूँ, और मेरे संग कोई देवता नहीं; मैं ही मार डालता, और मैं जिलाता भी हूँ; मैं ही घायल करता, और मैं ही चंगा भी करता हूँ; और मेरे हाथ से कोई नहीं छुड़ा सकता।
40 For I lift up My hand to heaven, and say: As I live for ever,
४०क्योंकि मैं अपना हाथ स्वर्ग की ओर उठाकर कहता हूँ, क्योंकि मैं अनन्तकाल के लिये जीवित हूँ,
41 If I whet My glittering sword, and My hand take hold on judgment; I will render vengeance to Mine adversaries, and will recompense them that hate Me.
४१इसलिए यदि मैं बिजली की तलवार पर सान धरकर झलकाऊँ, और न्याय अपने हाथ में ले लूँ, तो अपने द्रोहियों से बदला लूँगा, और अपने बैरियों को बदला दूँगा।
42 I will make Mine arrows drunk with blood, and My sword shall devour flesh; with the blood of the slain and the captives, from the long-haired heads of the enemy.'
४२मैं अपने तीरों को लहू से मतवाला करूँगा, और मेरी तलवार माँस खाएगी—वह लहू, मारे हुओं और बन्दियों का, और वह माँस, शत्रुओं के लम्बे बाल वाले प्रधानों का होगा।
43 Sing aloud, O ye nations, of His people; for He doth avenge the blood of His servants, and doth render vengeance to His adversaries, and doth make expiation for the land of His people.
४३“हे अन्यजातियों, उसकी प्रजा के साथ आनन्द मनाओ; क्योंकि वह अपने दासों के लहू का पलटा लेगा, और अपने द्रोहियों को बदला देगा, और अपने देश और अपनी प्रजा के पाप के लिये प्रायश्चित देगा।”
44 And Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he, and Hoshea the son of Nun.
४४इस गीत के सब वचन मूसा ने नून के पुत्र यहोशू समेत आकर लोगों को सुनाए।
45 And when Moses made an end of speaking all these words to all Israel,
४५जब मूसा ये सब वचन सब इस्राएलियों से कह चुका,
46 he said unto them: 'Set your heart unto all the words wherewith I testify against you this day; that ye may charge your children therewith to observe to do all the words of this law.
४६तब उसने उनसे कहा, “जितनी बातें मैं आज तुम से चिताकर कहता हूँ उन सब पर अपना-अपना मन लगाओ, और उनके अर्थात् इस व्यवस्था की सारी बातों के मानने में चौकसी करने की आज्ञा अपने बच्चों को दो।
47 For it is no vain thing for you; because it is your life, and through this thing ye shall prolong your days upon the land, whither ye go over the Jordan to possess it.'
४७क्योंकि यह तुम्हारे लिये व्यर्थ काम नहीं, परन्तु तुम्हारा जीवन ही है, और ऐसा करने से उस देश में तुम्हारी आयु के दिन बहुत होंगे, जिसके अधिकारी होने को तुम यरदन पार जा रहे हो।”
48 And the LORD spoke unto Moses that selfsame day, saying:
४८फिर उसी दिन यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा,
49 'Get thee up into this mountain of Abarim, unto mount Nebo, which is in the land of Moab, that is over against Jericho; and behold the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel for a possession;
४९“उस अबारीम पहाड़ की नबो नामक चोटी पर, जो मोआब देश में यरीहो के सामने है, चढ़कर कनान देश, जिसे मैं इस्राएलियों की निज भूमि कर देता हूँ, उसको देख ले।
50 and die in the mount whither thou goest up, and be gathered unto thy people; as Aaron thy brother died in mount Hor, and was gathered unto his people.
५०तब जैसा तेरा भाई हारून होर पहाड़ पर मरकर अपने लोगों में मिल गया, वैसा ही तू इस पहाड़ पर चढ़कर मर जाएगा, और अपने लोगों में मिल जाएगा।
51 Because ye trespassed against Me in the midst of the children of Israel at the waters of Meribath-kadesh, in the wilderness of Zin; because ye sanctified Me not in the midst of the children of Israel.
५१इसका कारण यह है, कि सीन जंगल में, कादेश के मरीबा नाम सोते पर, तुम दोनों ने मेरा अपराध किया, क्योंकि तुम ने इस्राएलियों के मध्य में मुझे पवित्र न ठहराया।
52 For thou shalt see the land afar off; but thou shalt not go thither into the land which I give the children of Israel.'
५२इसलिए वह देश जो मैं इस्राएलियों को देता हूँ, तू अपने सामने देख लेगा, परन्तु वहाँ जाने न पाएगा।”
