Daniel 2
1 And in the second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams; and his spirit was troubled, and his sleep broke from him.
നെബൂഖദ്നേസരിന്റെ ഭരണത്തിന്റെ രണ്ടാംവർഷത്തിൽ അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു സ്വപ്നംകണ്ടു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ മനസ്സ് അസ്വസ്ഥമായി; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഉറങ്ങാൻ കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
2 Then the king commanded to call the magicians, and the enchanters, and the sorcerers, and the Chaldeans, to tell the king his dreams. So they came and stood before the king.
അപ്പോൾ രാജാവു സ്വപ്നം തന്നെ അറിയിക്കാൻ ആഭിചാരകരെയും മന്ത്രവാദികളെയും ക്ഷുദ്രക്കാരെയും ജ്യോതിഷികളെയും വിളിക്കാൻ കൽപ്പനകൊടുത്തു. അങ്ങനെ അവർ വന്ന് രാജസന്നിധിയിൽ നിന്നു.
3 And the king said unto them: 'I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit is troubled to know the dream.'
അപ്പോൾ രാജാവ് അവരോട്, “ഞാൻ ഒരു സ്വപ്നംകണ്ടു. അത് എന്നെ വളരെയധികം അസ്വസ്ഥനാക്കുന്നു സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ അർഥം എന്താണെന്ന് എനിക്ക് അറിയണം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 Then spoke the Chaldeans to the king in Aramaic: 'O king, live for ever! tell thy servants the dream, and we will declare the interpretation.'
ജ്യോതിഷികൾ അരാമ്യഭാഷയിൽ രാജാവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു: “രാജാവു ദീർഘായുസ്സായിരിക്കട്ടെ! സ്വപ്നമെന്തെന്ന് അടിയങ്ങളോടു കൽപ്പിച്ചാലും; ഞങ്ങൾ അതിന്റെ അർഥം വെളിപ്പെടുത്താം.”
5 The king answered and said to the Chaldeans: 'The thing is certain with me; if ye make not known unto me the dream and the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
രാജാവ് ജ്യോതിഷികളോട് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്: “എന്റെ ദൃഢനിശ്ചയം ഇതാണ്: സ്വപ്നവും അതിന്റെ അർഥവും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അറിയിക്കാത്തപക്ഷം നിങ്ങളുടെ അവയവങ്ങൾ ഓരോന്നായി ഛേദിച്ചു വേർപെടുത്തുകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ വീട് കൽക്കൂമ്പാരമാക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
6 But if ye declare the dream and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts and rewards and great honour; only declare unto me the dream and the interpretation thereof.'
എന്നാൽ സ്വപ്നവും അർഥവും നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അറിയിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു സമ്മാനങ്ങളും പ്രതിഫലവും വലിയ ബഹുമതിയും ലഭിക്കും. അതിനാൽ സ്വപ്നവും അതിന്റെ അർഥവും എന്നെ അറിയിക്കുക,” എന്നായിരുന്നു.
7 They answered the second time and said: 'Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will declare the interpretation.'
അവർ ഒരിക്കൽക്കൂടി രാജാവിനോട് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു: “രാജാവ് സ്വപ്നം അടിയങ്ങളെ അറിയിച്ചാലും; അർഥം ഞങ്ങൾ വെളിപ്പെടുത്താം.”
8 The king answered and said: 'I know of a truth that ye would gain time, inasmuch as ye see the thing is certain with me,
രാജാവ് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു: “എന്റെ കൽപ്പന മാറ്റം വരുത്താൻ കഴിയാത്തതെന്നറിഞ്ഞിട്ടും നിങ്ങൾ സമയം നീട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകാൻ ശ്രമിക്കുകയാണ്.
9 that, if ye make not known unto me the dream, there is but one law for you; and ye have agreed together to speak before me lying and corrupt words, till the time be changed; only tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can declare unto me the interpretation thereof.'
നിങ്ങൾ സ്വപ്നം എന്നെ അറിയിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള വിധി ഒന്നുമാത്രം. ഞാൻ എന്റെ മനസ്സു മാറ്റുന്നതുവരെ എന്നോടു വ്യാജവും വഷളത്തവും പറയാൻ നിങ്ങൾ ഒത്തുചേർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു. അതിനാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അർഥം പറയാൻ കഴിയുമോ എന്ന് എനിക്ക് അറിയേണ്ടതിന് ആദ്യം സ്വപ്നം എന്തെന്നു നിങ്ങൾ എന്നോടു പറയുക.”
10 The Chaldeans answered before the king, and said: 'There is not a man upon the earth that can declare the king's matter; forasmuch as no great and powerful king hath asked such a thing of any magician, or enchanter, or Chaldean.
ജ്യോതിഷികൾ രാജാവിനോട് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്: “ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള മഹാനും ശക്തനുമായ ഒരു രാജാവും ഇപ്രകാരമൊരു കാര്യം ഏതെങ്കിലും ആഭിചാരകനോടോ മന്ത്രവാദിയോടോ ജ്യോത്സ്യനോടോ നാളിതുവരെ ചോദിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ഈ കാര്യം രാജാവിനെ അറിയിക്കാൻ കഴിവുള്ള യാതൊരു മനുഷ്യനും ഭൂമിയിൽ ഇല്ല.
11 And it is a hard thing that the king asketh, and there is none other that can declare it before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.'
തന്നെയുമല്ല, രാജാവ് ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്ന കാര്യം വളരെ പ്രയാസമുള്ളതാണ്. ദേവതകൾ ഒഴികെ, ഈ കാര്യം രാജാവിനെ അറിയിക്കാൻ കഴിവുള്ള ആരുംതന്നെയില്ല. ദേവതകൾ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ജീവിക്കുന്നവരുമല്ലല്ലോ,” എന്നായിരുന്നു.
12 For this cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the wise men of Babylon.
ഇതു കേട്ടപ്പോൾ രാജാവ് അത്യന്തം കുപിതനായി. ബാബേലിലെ എല്ലാ ജ്ഞാനികളെയും നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹം കൽപ്പനകൊടുത്തു.
13 So the decree went forth, and the wise men were to be slain; and they sought Daniel and his companions to be slain.
അങ്ങനെ സകലജ്ഞാനികളെയും കൊന്നുകളയാനുള്ള കൽപ്പന രാജസന്നിധിയിൽനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെട്ടു. ദാനീയേലിനെയും സ്നേഹിതന്മാരെയുംകൂടെ കൊല്ലുന്നതിന് അവർ ഉദ്യോഗസ്ഥരെ അയച്ചു.
14 Then Daniel returned answer with counsel and discretion to Arioch the captain of the king's guard, who was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon;
അങ്ങനെ ബാബേലിലെ ജ്ഞാനികളെയെല്ലാം കൊല്ലുന്നതിനു രാജാവിന്റെ സൈന്യാധിപനായ അര്യോക്ക് പുറപ്പെട്ടു. അദ്ദേഹത്തോട് ദാനീയേൽ ബുദ്ധിയോടും വിവേകത്തോടും ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
15 he answered and said to Arioch the king's captain: 'Wherefore is the decree so peremptory from the king?' Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
രാജാവിന്റെ സൈന്യാധിപനായ അര്യോക്കിനോട് ദാനീയേൽ ചോദിച്ചു: “രാജാവ് ഇത്ര കഠിനമായ ഈ കൽപ്പന പുറപ്പെടുവിക്കാൻ സംഗതിയെന്ത്?” അപ്പോൾ അര്യോക്ക് ദാനീയേലിനോട് കാര്യം വിശദീകരിച്ചു.
16 Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, that he might declare unto the king the interpretation.
ഉടൻതന്നെ രാജസന്നിധിയിൽച്ചെന്ന് സ്വപ്നവ്യാഖ്യാനം രാജാവിനെ അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിനു തനിക്കു സമയം നൽകണമെന്ന് ദാനീയേൽ അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
17 Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions;
പിന്നീട്, ദാനീയേൽ ഭവനത്തിലെത്തി തന്റെ സ്നേഹിതന്മാരായ ഹനന്യാവ്, മീശായേൽ, അസര്യാവ് എന്നിവരോട് കാര്യം വിവരിച്ചുകേൾപ്പിച്ചു.
18 that they might ask mercy of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his companions should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
അദ്ദേഹം അവരോട്, ബാബേലിലെ ജ്ഞാനികളായ മറ്റു പുരുഷന്മാരോടൊപ്പം വധിക്കപ്പെടാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഈ രഹസ്യത്തെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് സ്വർഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കാരുണ്യം തങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന് അപേക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഉദ്ബോധിപ്പിച്ചു.
19 Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a vision of the night. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
ആ രാത്രിയിൽ ഒരു ദർശനത്തിൽ ദാനീയേലിന് ആ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെട്ടു. അപ്പോൾ ദാനീയേൽ സ്വർഗത്തിലെ ദൈവത്തെ ഇപ്രകാരം സ്തുതിച്ചു.
20 Daniel spoke and said: Blessed be the name of God from everlasting even unto everlasting; for wisdom and might are His;
അദ്ദേഹം: “ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമം എന്നെന്നേക്കും വാഴ്ത്തപ്പെടട്ടെ; ജ്ഞാനവും ശക്തിയും അവിടത്തേക്കുള്ളത്.
21 And He changeth the times and the seasons; He removeth kings, and setteth up kings; He giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding;
അവിടന്നു കാലങ്ങളെയും സമയങ്ങളെയും മാറ്റുന്നു; അവിടന്നു രാജാക്കന്മാരെ നീക്കംചെയ്യുകയും ഉറപ്പിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അവിടന്നു ജ്ഞാനികൾക്കു ജ്ഞാനവും വിവേകികൾക്കു വിവേകവും നൽകുന്നു.
22 He revealeth the deep and secret things; He knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with Him.
അവിടന്ന് അഗാധവും നിഗൂഢവുമായ കാര്യങ്ങൾ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നു; ഇരുട്ടിൽ മറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നത് അവിടന്ന് അറിയുന്നു, വെളിച്ചം അവിടത്തോടൊപ്പം വസിക്കുന്നു.
23 I thank Thee, and praise Thee, O Thou God of my fathers, who hath given me wisdom and might, and hast now made known unto me what we desired of Thee; for Thou hast made known unto us the king's matter.
എന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമേ, അവിടന്ന് എനിക്കു ജ്ഞാനവും ശക്തിയും നൽകിയിരിക്കുകയാൽ ഞാൻ അവിടത്തെ വാഴ്ത്തുന്നു. ഞങ്ങൾ അവിടത്തോട് അപേക്ഷിച്ച കാര്യം അവിടന്ന് എന്നെ അറിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, രാജാവിന്റെ സ്വപ്നത്തെക്കുറിച്ച് അവിടന്നു ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.”
24 Therefore Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon; he went and said thus unto him: 'Destroy not the wise men of Babylon; bring me in before the king, and I will declare unto the king the interpretation.'
പിന്നീട്, ദാനീയേൽ ബാബേലിലെ ജ്ഞാനികളെ നശിപ്പിക്കാൻ രാജാവു നിയോഗിച്ചിരുന്ന അര്യോക്കിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു. അദ്ദേഹത്തോട്: “ബാബേലിലെ ജ്ഞാനികളെ വധിക്കരുത്. എന്നെ രാജസന്നിധിയിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുപോകുക; ഞാൻ രാജാവിനു സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ പൊരുൾ വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുകൊടുക്കാം” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him: 'I have found a man of the children of the captivity of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation.'
അര്യോക്ക് തിടുക്കത്തിൽ ദാനീയേലിനെ രാജസന്നിധിയിലെത്തിച്ചിട്ട് രാജാവിനോട്: “രാജാവിനു സ്വപ്നം വ്യാഖ്യാനിച്ചുനൽകാൻ കഴിവുള്ള ഒരുവനെ ഞാൻ യെഹൂദാപ്രവാസികളിൽ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
26 The king spoke and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar: 'Art thou able to make known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?'
രാജാവ് ബേൽത്ത്ശസ്സർ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ദാനീയേലിനോട്: “ഞാൻ കണ്ട സ്വപ്നവും അതിന്റെ അർഥവും വെളിപ്പെടുത്താൻ നിനക്കു കഴിയുമോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
27 Daniel answered before the king, and said: 'The secret which the king hath asked can neither wise men, enchanters, magicians, nor astrologers, declare unto the king;
ദാനീയേൽ രാജാവിനോട് ഇപ്രകാരം ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു: “രാജാവു ചോദിച്ച ഈ രഹസ്യം തിരുമനസ്സിനെ അറിയിക്കാൻ ജ്ഞാനികൾക്കോ മന്ത്രവാദികൾക്കോ ആഭിചാരകന്മാർക്കോ ദേവപ്രശ്നംവെക്കുന്നവർക്കോ കഴിയുകയില്ല.
28 but there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and He hath made known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the end of days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these:
എന്നാൽ രഹസ്യങ്ങൾ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന ഒരു ദൈവം സ്വർഗത്തിലുണ്ട്. ഭാവിയിൽ സംഭവിക്കേണ്ടത് അവിടന്ന് നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ രാജാവിനു വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. പള്ളിമെത്തയിലായിരുന്നപ്പോൾ കണ്ട സ്വപ്നവും തിരുമനസ്സിൽ ഉണ്ടായ ദർശനങ്ങളും ഇവയാണ്:
29 as for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter; and He that revealeth secrets hath made known to thee what shall come to pass.
“രാജാവേ, പള്ളിമെത്തയിൽ ആയിരുന്നപ്പോൾ ഭാവിയിൽ എന്തു സംഭവിക്കും എന്നുള്ള ചിന്ത തിരുമനസ്സിലുണ്ടായി. രഹസ്യങ്ങൾ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നവൻ അത് അങ്ങയെ അറിയിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു.
30 But as for me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any living, but to the intent that the interpretation may be made known to the king, and that thou mayest know the thoughts of thy heart.
ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്ന ഏതെങ്കിലും മനുഷ്യനെക്കാൾ അധികം ജ്ഞാനം എന്നിൽ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടല്ല, പിന്നെയോ, രാജാവിനോട് അർഥം ബോധിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിനും അങ്ങയുടെ മനസ്സിലുണ്ടായ ചിന്തകൾ അങ്ങ് ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതിനുംവേണ്ടിയാണ് ഈ രഹസ്യം എനിക്കു വെളിപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്.
31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This image, which was mighty, and whose brightness was surpassing, stood before thee; and the appearance thereof was terrible.
“രാജാവേ, അങ്ങു നോക്കിയപ്പോൾ അങ്ങയുടെ മുമ്പിലായി ഒരു വലിയ പ്രതിമ—അത്യധികം വലുപ്പമുള്ളതും ശോഭയോടെ തിളങ്ങുന്നതും കാഴ്ചയിൽ ഭയാനകവുമായ ഒരു പ്രതിമ—കാണപ്പെട്ടു.
32 As for that image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of brass,
പ്രതിമയുടെ തല തങ്കനിർമിതമായിരുന്നു. അതിന്റെ നെഞ്ചും കൈകളും വെള്ളികൊണ്ടും വയറും തുടകളും വെങ്കലംകൊണ്ടും
33 its legs of iron, its feet part of iron and part of clay.
കാലുകൾ ഇരുമ്പുകൊണ്ടും അതിന്റെ പാദങ്ങൾ ഭാഗികമായി ഇരുമ്പുകൊണ്ടും ഭാഗികമായി കളിമണ്ണുകൊണ്ടും ആയിരുന്നു.
34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon its feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces.
അങ്ങ് നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കെ, മനുഷ്യന്റെ കൈകൾകൊണ്ടല്ലാതെ രൂപപ്പെടുത്തിയ ഒരു പാറ അടർന്നുവന്നു പ്രതിമയുടെ ഇരുമ്പും കളിമണ്ണുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള കാൽ ഇടിച്ചുതകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞു.
35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken in pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing-floors; and the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them; and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
അപ്പോൾ ഇരുമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും വെങ്കലവും വെള്ളിയും സ്വർണവും എല്ലാം ഒരുപോലെ തകർന്നു തരിപ്പണമായി; അതു വേനൽക്കാലത്തു മെതിക്കളത്തിലെ പതിരുപോലെ ആയിത്തീർന്നു. ഒന്നും ശേഷിപ്പിക്കാതെ കാറ്റ് അവയെ പറപ്പിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു. പ്രതിമയെ ഇടിച്ച കല്ലോ, ഒരു വലിയ പർവതമായിത്തീർന്ന് ഭൂമിയിലെല്ലാം നിറഞ്ഞു.
36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
“ഇതായിരുന്നു സ്വപ്നം. ഇനി ഞങ്ങൾ രാജാവിനോട് സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ പൊരുൾ വിവരിക്കാം.
37 Thou, O king, king of kings, unto whom the God of heaven hath given the kingdom, the power, and the strength, and the glory;
രാജാവേ, അങ്ങ് രാജാധിരാജൻതന്നെ. സ്വർഗസ്ഥനായ ദൈവം അങ്ങേക്ക് ആധിപത്യവും ശക്തിയും ബലവും മഹത്ത്വവും നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നു;
38 and wheresoever the children of men, the beasts of the field, and the fowls of the heaven dwell, hath He given them into thy hand, and hath made thee to rule over them all; thou art the head of gold.
മനുഷ്യവർഗത്തെയും വയലിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളെയും ആകാശത്തിലെ പറവകളെയും അവിടന്ന് അങ്ങയുടെ കരങ്ങളിൽ ഏൽപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അവയ്ക്കെല്ലാം അവിടന്ന് അങ്ങയെ ഭരണാധികാരിയാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു. സ്വർണംകൊണ്ടുള്ള തല അങ്ങുതന്നെ.
39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee; and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
“അങ്ങേക്കുശേഷം അങ്ങയുടേതിനെക്കാൾ താണ മറ്റൊരു രാജത്വം ഉയർന്നുവരും. അടുത്തതായി വെങ്കലംകൊണ്ടുള്ള മൂന്നാമതൊരു രാജത്വം ഭൂമിയെ മുഴുവൻ ഭരിക്കും.
40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron; forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and beateth down all things; and as iron that crusheth all these, shall it break in pieces and crush.
പിന്നീടുള്ള നാലാമത്തെ രാജത്വം ഇരുമ്പുപോലെ ശക്തമായിരിക്കും—ഇരുമ്പ് സകലതിനെയും തകർത്തു നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നല്ലോ—ഇരുമ്പു സകലതിനെയും തകർത്തുകളയുന്നതുപോലെ അത് എല്ലാറ്റിനെയും തകർത്തു തരിപ്പണമാക്കും.
41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters' clay, and part of iron, it shall be a divided kingdom; but there shall be in it of the firmness of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
കാലും കാൽവിരലുകളും, ഭാഗികമായി കളിമണ്ണും ഭാഗികമായി ഇരുമ്പുമായി, അങ്ങു കണ്ടതുപോലെ അത് ഒരു വിഭജിതരാജത്വം ആയിരിക്കും. എന്നാൽ ഇരുമ്പും കളിമണ്ണും ഇടകലർന്നുകണ്ടതുപോലെ അതിൽ ഇരുമ്പിന്റെ ശക്തി കുറെ ഉണ്ടായിരിക്കും.
42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so part of the kingdom shall be strong, and part thereof broken.
കാൽവിരലുകൾ പകുതി ഇരുമ്പും പകുതി കളിമണ്ണും ആയിരുന്നതുപോലെ ആ രാജത്വം ഭാഗികമായി ശക്തവും ഭാഗികമായി ദുർബലവും ആയിരിക്കും.
43 And whereas thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves by the seed of men; but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron doth not mingle with clay.
അതിൽ ഇരുമ്പു കേവലം കളിമണ്ണിനോടു കലർന്നിരുന്നതുപോലെ അവർ വിവാഹബന്ധത്തിലൂടെ പരസ്പരം ഇടകലർന്നിരിക്കും. എങ്കിലും ഇരുമ്പു കളിമണ്ണിനോടു ചേരാത്തതുപോലെ അവർതമ്മിലും ചേർച്ചയുണ്ടാകുകയില്ല.
44 And in the days of those kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed; nor shall the kingdom be left to another people; it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, but it shall stand for ever.
“ആ രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാലത്ത് സ്വർഗത്തിലെ ദൈവം ഒരിക്കലും നശിക്കാത്ത ഒരു രാജ്യം സ്ഥാപിക്കും. ആ രാജ്യം മറ്റൊരു ജനതയ്ക്ക് ഏൽപ്പിക്കപ്പെടുകയില്ല. അത് ഈ സകലരാജ്യങ്ങളെയും തകർത്തു നശിപ്പിക്കും. എന്നാൽ ആ രാജ്യം എന്നേക്കും നിലനിൽക്കും.
45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that a stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it broke in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter; and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.'
പർവതത്തിൽനിന്ന് മനുഷ്യന്റെ കരസ്പർശം കൂടാതെ പൊട്ടിച്ചെടുത്ത ഒരു കല്ലു വന്ന് ഇരുമ്പിനെയും വെങ്കലത്തെയും കളിമണ്ണിനെയും വെള്ളിയെയും സ്വർണത്തെയും തകർത്തുകളഞ്ഞതായി അങ്ങു കണ്ട ദർശനത്തിന്റെ അർഥം ഇതാണ്: “ഭാവിയിൽ സംഭവിക്കാനുള്ളത് വലിയവനായ ദൈവം അങ്ങയെ അറിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. സ്വപ്നം യാഥാർഥ്യവും അതിന്റെ വ്യാഖ്യാനം വിശ്വാസയോഗ്യവുമാണ്.”
46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an offering and sweet odours unto him.
അപ്പോൾ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ രാജാവു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണ് ദാനീയേലിനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന് ഒരു വഴിപാടും സൗരഭ്യധൂപവും അർപ്പിക്കാൻ കൽപ്പനകൊടുത്തു.
47 The king spoke unto Daniel, and said: 'Of a truth it is, that your God is the God of gods, and the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou hast been able to reveal this secret.'
രാജാവു ദാനീയേലിനോട് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞത്: “ഈ രഹസ്യം വെളിപ്പെടുത്താൻ നിനക്കു കഴിഞ്ഞതുകൊണ്ട് നിന്റെ ദൈവം ദേവാധിദൈവവും രാജാധികർത്താവും രഹസ്യങ്ങൾ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുന്നവനും ആകുന്നു.”
48 Then the king made Daniel great, and gave him many great gifts, and made him to rule over the whole province of Babylon, and to be chief prefect over all the wise men of Babylon.
അതിനുശേഷം രാജാവ് ദാനീയേലിനെ ഉന്നതസ്ഥാനത്തേക്ക് ഉയർത്തുകയും അദ്ദേഹത്തിനു ധാരാളം സമ്മാനങ്ങൾ നൽകുകയും ചെയ്തു. രാജാവ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ ബാബേൽ പ്രവിശ്യ മുഴുവന്റെയും ഭരണാധിപനാക്കുകയും ബാബേലിലെ എല്ലാ ജ്ഞാനികൾക്കും മേലധികാരിയാക്കുകയും ചെയ്തു.
49 And Daniel requested of the king, and he appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, over the affairs of the province of Babylon; but Daniel was in the gate of the king.
മാത്രമല്ല, ദാനീയേലിന്റെ അപേക്ഷപ്രകാരം രാജാവ് ശദ്രക്കിനെയും മേശക്കിനെയും അബേദ്നെഗോവിനെയും ബാബേൽ പ്രവിശ്യയുടെ ഭരണകാര്യങ്ങൾക്കു മേൽവിചാരകരാക്കി; ദാനീയേലോ, രാജകൊട്ടാരത്തിൽ താമസിച്ചു.
