Daniel 10
1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a word was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the word was true, even a great warfare; and he gave heed to the word, and had understanding of the vision.
No terceiro ano de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, uma mensagem foi revelada a Daniel, cujo nome era Belteshazzar; e a mensagem era verdadeira, até mesmo uma grande guerra. Ele compreendeu a mensagem, e teve compreensão da visão.
2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three whole weeks.
Naqueles dias eu, Daniel, estava de luto por três semanas inteiras.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
Eu não comi nenhuma comida agradável. Nenhuma carne ou vinho entrava em minha boca. Eu não me ungi, até que três semanas inteiras foram cumpridas.
4 And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Tigris,
No vigésimo quarto dia do primeiro mês, quando estava à beira do grande rio, que é Hiddekel,
5 I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz;
levantei os olhos e olhei, e eis que estava um homem vestido de linho, cuja cintura estava enfeitada com ouro puro de Uphaz.
6 his body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as torches of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to burnished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
Seu corpo também era como o berilo, e seu rosto como a aparência de um raio, e seus olhos como tochas flamejantes. Seus braços e seus pés eram como bronze polido. A voz de suas palavras era como a voz de uma multidão.
7 And I Daniel alone saw the vision; for the men that were with me saw not the vision; howbeit a great trembling fell upon them, and they fled to hide themselves.
Eu, Daniel, sozinho vi a visão, pois os homens que estavam comigo não viram a visão, mas um grande tremor caiu sobre eles, e eles fugiram para se esconder.
8 So that I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me; for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
Então eu fiquei sozinho e vi esta grande visão. Nenhuma força ficou em mim; pois meu rosto ficou pálido e eu não retive nenhuma força.
9 Yet heard I the voice of his words; and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I fallen into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.
Ainda assim, ouvi a voz de suas palavras. Quando ouvi a voz de suas palavras, então caí num sono profundo em meu rosto, com meu rosto voltado para o chão.
10 And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me tottering upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
Eis que uma mão me tocou, que me pôs de joelhos e nas palmas das minhas mãos.
11 And he said unto me: 'O Daniel, thou man greatly beloved, give heed unto the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright; for now am I sent unto thee'; and when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
Ele me disse: “Daniel, tu, homem muito amado, entende as palavras que te falo, e fica de pé, pois fui enviado a ti, agora”. Quando ele me disse esta palavra, eu fiquei tremendo.
12 Then said he unto me: 'Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard; and I am come because of thy words.
Então ele me disse: “Não tenha medo, Daniel; pois desde o primeiro dia em que você colocou seu coração para entender, e para se humilhar diante de seu Deus, suas palavras foram ouvidas. Eu vim pelo bem de suas palavras.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days; but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I was left over there beside the kings of Persia.
Mas o príncipe do reino da Pérsia me resistiu vinte e um dias; mas, eis que Miguel, um dos príncipes principais, veio para me ajudar porque eu permaneci lá com os reis da Pérsia.
14 Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the end of days; for there is yet a vision for the days.'
Agora vim para fazer-vos compreender o que acontecerá ao vosso povo nos últimos dias, pois a visão ainda é por muitos dias”.
15 And when he had spoken unto me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground, and was dumb.
Quando ele me disse estas palavras, eu coloquei meu rosto no chão e fiquei mudo.
16 And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips; then I opened my mouth, and spoke and said unto him that stood before me: 'O my lord, by reason of the vision my pains are come upon me, and I retain no strength.
Eis que um, à semelhança dos filhos dos homens, tocou meus lábios. Então abri minha boca, e falei e disse àquele que estava diante de mim: “Meu senhor, por causa da visão, minhas tristezas me ultrapassaram, e eu não retenho forças.
17 For how can this servant of my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither was there breath left in me.'
Pois como pode o servo deste meu senhor falar com este meu senhor? Pois quanto a mim, imediatamente não restou força em mim. Não restava fôlego em mim”.
18 Then there touched me again one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me.
Então uma pessoa como um homem me tocou novamente, e ele me fortaleceu.
19 And he said: 'O man greatly beloved, fear not! peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong.' And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said: 'Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.'
Ele disse: “Grande homem amado, não tenha medo”. Que a paz esteja com você”. Seja forte. Sim, sê forte”. Quando ele falou comigo, eu me fortaleci e disse: “Deixe o meu senhor falar, pois o senhor me fortaleceu”.
20 Then said he: Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I go forth, lo, the prince of Greece shall come.
Então ele disse: “Você sabe por que eu vim até você? Agora vou voltar para lutar com o príncipe da Pérsia. Quando eu sair, eis que o príncipe da Grécia virá.
21 Howbeit I will declare unto thee that which is inscribed in the writing of truth; and there is none that holdeth with me against these, except Michael your prince.
Mas eu lhe direi o que está inscrito na escrita da verdade. Não há ninguém que me oponha a estes, a não ser Miguel, seu príncipe.
