Amos 7

1 Thus the Lord GOD showed me; and, behold, He formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.

൧യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് എനിക്ക് കാണിച്ചുതന്നതെന്തെന്നാൽ: വിള രണ്ടാമത് മുളച്ചു തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ അവിടുന്ന് വിട്ടിലുകളെ ഒരുക്കി: അത് രാജാവിന്റെ വക വിളവെടുത്തശേഷം മുളച്ച രണ്ടാമത്തെ വിള ആയിരുന്നു.

2 And if it had come to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land — so I said: O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech Thee; how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.

൨എന്നാൽ അവ ദേശത്തിലെ സസ്യം തിന്നുതീർന്നപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ: “യഹോവയായ കർത്താവേ, ക്ഷമിക്കണമേ; യാക്കോബിന് എങ്ങനെ നിലനിൽക്കാൻ കഴിയും? അവൻ ചെറിയവനല്ലോ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

3 The LORD repented concerning this; 'It shall not be', saith the LORD.

൩യഹോവ അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അനുതപിച്ചു; “അത് സംഭവിക്കുകയില്ല” എന്ന് യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

4 Thus the Lord GOD showed me; and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the land.

൪യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് എനിക്ക് കാണിച്ചുതന്നതെന്തെന്നാൽ: യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് തീയാൽ വ്യവഹരിക്കുവാൻ അതിനെ വിളിച്ചു; അത് വലിയ ആഴിയെ വറ്റിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞു; യഹോവയുടെ ഓഹരിയെയും തിന്നുകളഞ്ഞു.

5 Then said I: O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech Thee; how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.

൫അപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ: “യഹോവയായ കർത്താവേ, മതിയാക്കണമേ; യാക്കോബിന് എങ്ങനെ നിലനിൽക്കാൻ കഴിയും? അവൻ ചെറിയവനല്ലോ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

6 The LORD repented concerning this; 'This also shall not be', saith the Lord GOD.

൬യഹോവ അതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് അനുതപിച്ചു; “അത് സംഭവിക്കുകയില്ല” എന്ന് യഹോവയായ കർത്താവ് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

7 Thus He showed me; and, behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in His hand.

൭അവിടുന്ന് എനിക്ക് കാണിച്ചുതന്നതെന്തെന്നാൽ: തൂക്കുകട്ട ഉപയോഗിച്ച് പണിത ഒരു മതിലിന്മേൽ കർത്താവ് കയ്യിൽ തൂക്കുകട്ട പിടിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് നിന്നു.

8 And the LORD said unto me: 'Amos, what seest thou?' And I said: 'A plumbline.' Then said the Lord: Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of My people Israel; I will not again pardon them any more;

൮യഹോവ എന്നോട്: “ആമോസേ, നീ എന്ത് കാണുന്നു” എന്ന് ചോദിച്ചതിന് “ഒരു തൂക്കുകട്ട” എന്ന് ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞു. അതിന് കർത്താവ്: “ഞാൻ എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ നടുവിൽ ഒരു തൂക്കുകട്ട പിടിക്കും; ഞാൻ ഇനി അവരെ ശിക്ഷിക്കാതെ വിടുകയില്ല;

9 And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

൯യിസ്ഹാക്കിന്റെ പൂജാഗിരികൾ പാഴും യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരങ്ങൾ ശൂന്യവുമായിത്തീരും; ഞാൻ യൊരോബെയാംഗൃഹത്തിനു വിരോധമായി വാളുമായി എഴുന്നേൽക്കും” എന്ന് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

10 Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying: 'Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is not able to bear all his words.

൧൦എന്നാൽ ബേഥേലിലെ പുരോഹിതനായ അമസ്യാവ് യിസ്രായേൽ രാജാവായ യൊരോബെയാമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ച്: “ആമോസ് യിസ്രായേൽ ഗൃഹത്തിന്റെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ നിനക്ക് വിരോധമായി കൂട്ടുകെട്ടുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ വാക്കുകൾ സഹിക്കുവാൻ ദേശത്തിന് കഴിയുന്നില്ല.

11 For thus Amos saith: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.'

൧൧‘യൊരോബെയാം വാൾകൊണ്ടു മരിക്കും; യിസ്രായേൽ സ്വദേശം വിട്ട് പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരും’ എന്നിങ്ങനെ ആമോസ് പറയുന്നു” എന്ന് പറയിച്ചു.

12 Also Amaziah said unto Amos: 'O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there;

൧൨എന്നാൽ ആമോസിനോട് അമസ്യാവ്: “ദർശകാ, യെഹൂദാദേശത്തിലേക്ക് ഓടിപ്പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളുക; അവിടെ പ്രവചിച്ച് ഉപജീവനം കഴിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക.

13 but prophesy not again any more at Beth-el, for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a royal house.'

൧൩ബേഥേലിലോ ഇനി പ്രവചിക്കരുത്; അത് രാജാവിന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരവും രാജധാനിയുമല്ലോ” എന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു.

14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah: 'I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdman, and a dresser of sycamore-trees;

൧൪അതിന് ആമോസ് അമസ്യാവിനോട്: “ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകനല്ല, പ്രവാചക ഗണത്തിലൊരുവനുമല്ല, ഇടയനും കാട്ടത്തിപ്പഴം പെറുക്കുന്നവനും അത്രേ.

15 and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said unto me: Go, prophesy unto My people Israel.

൧൫ഞാൻ ആടുകളെ നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ യഹോവ എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു: ‘നീ ചെന്ന് എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനോടു പ്രവചിക്കുക’ എന്ന് യഹോവ എന്നോട് കല്പിച്ചു” എന്ന് ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

16 Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest: Prophesy not against Israel, and preach not against the house of Isaac;

൧൬“ആകയാൽ നീ യഹോവയുടെ വചനം കേൾക്കുക: ‘യിസ്രായേലിനെക്കുറിച്ച് പ്രവചിക്കരുത്; യിസ്‌ഹാക്ക്ഗൃഹത്തിനു വിരോധമായി നീ പ്രസംഗിക്കരുത്’ എന്ന് നീ പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ”.

17 Therefore thus saith the LORD: Thy wife shall be a harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou thyself shalt die in an unclean land, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.'

൧൭“അതുകൊണ്ട് യഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു: ‘നിന്റെ ഭാര്യ നഗരത്തിൽ വേശ്യയാകും; നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാരും പുത്രിമാരും വാൾകൊണ്ടു വീഴും; നിന്റെ ദേശം അളവുനൂൽകൊണ്ട് വിഭാഗിക്കപ്പെടും; നീയോ ദൈവത്തെ അറിയാത്ത ഒരു ദേശത്തുവച്ച് മരിക്കും; യിസ്രായേൽ സ്വദേശം വിട്ടു പ്രവാസത്തിലേക്കു പോകേണ്ടിവരും”.
