Amos 3
1 Hear this word that the LORD hath spoken against you, O children of Israel, against the whole family which I brought up out of the land of Egypt, saying:
௧இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களே, யெகோவாகிய நான் எகிப்து தேசத்திலிருந்து வரவழைத்த முழுக்குடும்பமாகிய உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாகச் சொல்லிய இந்த வசனத்தைக் கேளுங்கள்.
2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth; therefore I will visit upon you all your iniquities.
௨பூமியின் எல்லா வம்சங்களுக்குள்ளும் உங்களைமட்டும் அறிந்துகொண்டேன்; ஆகையால் உங்களுடைய எல்லா அக்கிரமங்களுக்காக உங்களைத் தண்டிப்பேன்.
3 Will two walk together, except they have agreed?
௩இரண்டுபேர் ஒருமனப்படாமல் இருந்தால் ஒன்றுசேர்ந்து நடந்துபோவார்களோ?
4 Will a lion roar in the forest, when he hath no prey? Will a young lion give forth his voice out of his den, if he have taken nothing?
௪தனக்கு இரை அகப்படாமல் இருக்கக் காட்டிலே சிங்கம் கெர்ச்சிக்குமோ? இரைபிடிக்காமல் இருக்கும்போது பாலசிங்கம் தன்னுடைய குகையிலிருந்து சத்தமிடுமோ?
5 Will a bird fall in a snare upon the earth, where there is no lure for it? Will a snare spring up from the ground, and have taken nothing at all?
௫குருவிக்குத் தரையிலே சுருக்குப் போடப்படாமல் இருந்தால், அது கண்ணியில் அகப்படுமோ? ஒன்றும் அகப்படாமல் இருக்கும்போது, கண்ணி தரையிலிருந்து எடுக்கப்படுமோ?
6 Shall the horn be blown in a city, and the people not tremble? Shall evil befall a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
௬ஊரில் எக்காளம் ஊதினால், மக்கள் கலங்காமல் இருப்பார்களோ? யெகோவாவுடைய செயல் இல்லாமல் ஊரில் தீங்கு உண்டாகுமோ?
7 For the Lord GOD will do nothing, but He revealeth His counsel unto His servants the prophets.
௭யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளாகிய தம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரர்களுக்குத் தமது இரகசியத்தை வெளிப்படுத்தாமல் ஒரு காரியத்தையும் செய்யமாட்டார்.
8 The lion hath roared, who will not fear? The Lord GOD hath spoken, who can but prophesy?
௮சிங்கம் கெர்ச்சிக்கிறது, யார் பயப்படாமல் இருப்பான்? யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் பேசுகிறார், யார் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் சொல்லாதிருப்பான்?
9 Proclaim it upon the palaces at Ashdod, and upon the palaces in the land of Egypt, and say: 'Assemble yourselves upon the mountains of Samaria, and behold the great confusions therein, and the oppressions in the midst thereof.'
௯நீங்கள் சமாரியாவின் மலைகளில் கூடிவந்து, அதின் நடுவில் நடக்கிற பெரிய கலகங்களையும் அதற்குள் செய்யப்படுகிற இடுக்கண்களையும் பாருங்கள் என்று அஸ்தோத்தின் அரண்மனைகள்மேலும், எகிப்துதேசத்தின் அரண்மனைகள்மேலும் கூறுங்கள்.
10 For they know not to do right, saith the LORD, who store up violence and robbery in their palaces.
௧0அவர்கள் செம்மையானதைச் செய்ய அறியாமல், தங்களுடைய அரண்மனைகளில் கொடுமையையும் கொள்ளையையும் குவித்துக்கொள்ளுகிறார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
11 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD: An adversary, even round about the land! And he shall bring down thy strength from thee, and thy palaces shall be spoiled.
௧௧ஆகையால் எதிரி வந்து, தேசத்தைச் சூழ்ந்துகொண்டு, உன்னுடைய பெலத்தை உன்னிலிருந்து அகன்றுபோகச் செய்வான்; அப்பொழுது உன்னுடைய அரண்மனைகள் கொள்ளையிடப்படும் என்று யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
12 Thus saith the LORD: As the shepherd rescueth out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear, so shall the children of Israel that dwell in Samaria escape with the corner of a couch, and the leg of a bed.
௧௨மேலும்: ஒரு மேய்ப்பன் இரண்டு கால்களையோ ஒரு காதின் துண்டையோ சிங்கத்தின் வாயிலிருந்து பிடுங்கித் தப்புவிப்பதைப்போல, சமாரியாவில் குடியிருக்கிற இஸ்ரவேல் மக்கள் ஒரு படுக்கையின் மூலையிலிருந்தும், ஒரு மெத்தையின் மேலிருந்தும் தப்புவிக்கப்படுவார்கள் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
13 Hear ye, and testify against the house of Jacob, saith the Lord GOD, the God of hosts.
௧௩நீங்கள் கேட்டு யாக்கோபு வம்சத்தாருக்குள்ளே சாட்சியாக அறிவிக்கவேண்டியது: சேனைகளின் தேவனாக இருக்கிற யெகோவாகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால்,
14 For in the day that I shall visit the transgressions of Israel upon him, I will also punish the altars of Beth-el, and the horns of the altar shall be cut off, and fall to the ground.
௧௪நான் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய பாவங்களுக்காக அவனை விசாரிக்கும் நாளிலே நான் பெத்தேலின் பலிபீடங்களை விசாரிப்பேன்; பலிபீடத்தின் கொம்புகள் வெட்டப்பட்டு தரையிலே விழும்.
15 And I will smite the winter-house with the summer-house; and the houses of ivory shall perish, and the great houses shall have an end, saith the LORD.
௧௫மழைகாலத்து வீட்டையும் கோடைக்காலத்து வீட்டையும் அழிப்பேன்; அப்பொழுது யானைத்தந்தத்தால் செய்யப்பட்ட வீடுகள் அழியும்; பெரிய வீடுகளுக்கும் முடிவு வரும் என்று யெகோவா சொல்லுகிறார்.
