2 Samuel 4
1 And when Saul's son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands became feeble, and all the Israelites were affrighted.
अबनेर की मृत्यु का समाचार सुनकर इश-बोशेथ का साहस जाता रहा, और सारे इस्राएल में निराशा छा गई.
2 And Saul's son had two men that were captains of bands; the name of the one was Baanah, and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin; for Beeroth also is reckoned to Benjamin;
शाऊल के पुत्र के छापामार दलों के दो प्रधान थे: बाअनाह और रेखाब. ये दोनों बिन्यामिन प्रदेश के बएरोथ नगरवासी रिम्मोन नामक व्यक्ति के पुत्र थे. बीरोथ नगर बिन्यामिन प्रदेश का हिस्सा माना जाता था,
3 and the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and have been sojourners there until this day.
बीरोथवासियों को पलायन कर गित्ताईम नगर में जा बसना पड़ा, और वे वहां आज तक परदेशी ही माने जाते हैं.
4 Now Jonathan, Saul's son, had a son that was lame of his feet. He was five years old when the tidings came of Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel, and his nurse took him up, and fled; and it came to pass, as she made haste to flee, that he fell, and became lame. And his name was Mephibosheth.
शाऊल के पुत्र योनातन के एक पुत्र था, जो पैरों से विकलांग था. जब येज़्रील से शाऊल और योनातन से संबंधित समाचार उन्हें दिया गया, वह सिर्फ पांच वर्ष का था. उसकी सेविका उसे लेकर भाग रही थी; उतावली में वह गिर पड़ा और विकलांग रह गया. उसका नाम मेफ़िबोशेथ था.
5 And the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went, and came about the heat of the day to the house of Ish-bosheth, as he took his rest at noon.
बीरोथवासी रिम्मोन के दोनों पुत्रों, रेखाब और बाअनाह ने यात्रा प्रारंभ की, और वे इश-बोशेथ के आवास पर उस समय जा पहुंचे जब दिन की गर्मी के समय इश-बोशेथ विश्राम कर रहा था.
6 And they came thither into the midst of the house, as though they would have fetched wheat; and they smote him in the groin; and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.
वे भवन के बीचवाले कमरे में कुछ इस ढंग से जा पहुंचे मानो वे वहां गेहूं लेने आए थे. वहां उन्होंने इश-बोशेथ के पेट में वार कर दिया. यह करके रेखाब और उसका भाई बाअनाह भाग निकले.
7 Now when they came into the house, as he lay on his bed in his bed-chamber, they smote him, and slew him, and beheaded him, and took his head, and went by the way of the Arabah all night.
जब उन्होंने भवन में प्रवेश किया, इश-बोशेथ अपने कमरे में बिछौने पर लेटे हुए थे. उन्होंने उन पर वार किया, जिससे उनकी मृत्यु हो गई. इसके बाद उन्होंने उनका सिर काट लिया और उसे लेकर वे सारी रात अराबाह मार्ग पर चलते रहे.
8 And they brought the head of Ish-bosheth unto David to Hebron, and said to the king: 'Behold the head of Ish-bosheth the son of Saul thine enemy, who sought thy life; and the LORD hath avenged my lord the king this day of Saul, and of his seed.'
इश-बोशेथ के सिर को लेकर दावीद के पास हेब्रोन जा पहुंचे और उन्हें यह सूचना दी, “यह देखिए, आपके शत्रु शाऊल के पुत्र इश-बोशेथ का सिर, जो आपके प्राणों के प्यासे रहे थे. अब आज याहवेह ने राजा, मेरे स्वामी को शाऊल और उनके वंशजों का बदला दे दिया है.”
9 And David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said unto them: 'As the LORD liveth, who hath redeemed my soul out of all adversity,
दावीद ने बीरोथवासी रिम्मोन के पुत्रों रेखाब और उसके भाई बाअनाह को उत्तर दिया, “जीवित याहवेह की शपथ, जिन्होंने मेरे जीवन को सभी पीड़ाओं से छुड़ाया है,
10 when one told me, saying: Behold, Saul is dead, and he was in his own eyes as though he brought good tidings, I took hold of him, and slew him in Ziklag, instead of giving a reward for his tidings.
जब उस व्यक्ति ने आकर मुझे सूचना दी, सुनिए, ‘शाऊल की मृत्यु हो चुकी है,’ वह यह समझ रहा था कि वह मेरे लिए शुभ संदेश लेकर आया है, मैंने उसे पकड़ा और उसका वध कर दिया, यह ज़िकलाग की घटना है. उसके द्वारा लाए गए समाचार का ईनाम मैंने उसे इस रीति से दिया था.
11 How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house upon his bed, shall I not now require his blood of your hand, and take you away from the earth?'
अब यह विचार करो कि और कितनी अधिक होगी वह प्रतिक्रिया, जब दुष्ट व्यक्तियों ने एक धर्मी व्यक्ति की हत्या उसके घर में जाकर उसके बिछौने पर की है. क्या सही नहीं कि उसके रक्त का बदला तुम्हीं से लेकर तुम्हें पृथ्वी पर से मिटा दूं!”
12 And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up beside the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish-bosheth, and buried it in the grave of Abner in Hebron.
तब दावीद ने युवाओं को आदेश दिया और उन्होंने उन दोनों की हत्या कर दी, उनके हाथ और पांव काटकर उनके शव हेब्रोन के ताल के निकट लटका दिए. मगर उन्होंने इश-बोशेथ के सिर को हेब्रोन में अबनेर की कब्र में गाड़ दिया.
