2 Samuel 18
1 And David numbered the people that were with him, and set captains of thousands and captains of hundreds over them.

2 And David sent forth the people, a third part under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab's brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. And the king said unto the people: 'I will surely go forth with you myself also.'
А пус о треиме дин попор суб порунка луй Иоаб, о треиме суб Абишай, фиул Церуей, фрателе луй Иоаб, ши о треиме суб Итай дин Гат. Ши ымпэратул а зис попорулуй: „Вряу сэ ес ши еу ымпреунэ ку вой.”
3 But the people said: 'Thou shalt not go forth; for if we flee away, they will not care for us; neither if half of us die, will they care for us; but thou art worth ten thousand of us: therefore now it is better that thou be ready to succour us out of the city.'
Дар попорул а зис: „Сэ ну ешь! Кэч дакэ вом луа-о ла фугэ, луаря аминте ну се ва ындрепта асупра ноастрэ ши, кынд вор кэдя жумэтате дин ной, ну вор луа сяма ла ной, дар ту ешть ка зече мий динтре ной, ши акум есте май бине сэ не вий ын ажутор дин четате.”
4 And the king said unto them: 'What seemeth you best I will do.' And the king stood by the gate-side, and all the people went out by hundreds and by thousands.
Ымпэратул ле-а рэспунс: „Вой фаче че кредець кэ есте май бине.” Ши ымпэратул а стат лынгэ поартэ, ын тимп че тот попорул ешя ку сутеле ши мииле.
5 And the king commanded Joab and Abishai and Ittai, saying: 'Deal gently for my sake with the young man, even with Absalom.' And all the people heard when the king gave all the captains charge concerning Absalom.
Ымпэратул а дат урмэтоаря порункэ луй Иоаб, луй Абишай ши луй Итай: „Пентру драгостя пе каре о авець фацэ де мине, пуртаци-вэ блынд ку тынэрул Абсалом!” Ши тот попорул а аузит порунка ымпэратулуй, датэ тутурор кэпетениилор ку привире ла Абсалом.
6 So the people went out into the field against Israel; and the battle was in the forest of Ephraim.
Попорул а ешит ын кымп ынаинтя луй Исраел ши бэтэлия а авут лок ын пэдуря луй Ефраим.
7 And the people of Israel were smitten there before the servants of David, and there was a great slaughter there that day of twenty thousand men.
Аколо, попорул луй Исраел а фост бэтут де служиторий луй Давид ши а фост о маре ынфрынӂере ын зиуа ачея, ка доуэзечь де мий де оамень.
8 For the battle was there spread over the face of all the country; and the forest devoured more people that day than the sword devoured.
Лупта с-а ынтинс пе тот цинутул ши пэдуря а мынкат май мулт попор ын зиуа ачея декыт а мынкат сабия.
9 And Absalom chanced to meet the servants of David. And Absalom was riding upon his mule, and the mule went under the thick boughs of a great terebinth, and his head caught hold of the terebinth, and he was taken up between the heaven and the earth; and the mule that was under him went on.
Абсалом с-а поменит ын фаца оаменилор луй Давид. Ера кэларе пе ун катыр. Катырул а пэтрунс суб рамуриле ынкылчите але унуй маре стежар, ши капул луй Абсалом с-а принс де стежар; а рэмас астфел спынзурат ынтре чер ши пэмынт, ши катырул каре ера суб ел а трекут ынаинте.
10 And a certain man saw it, and told Joab, and said: 'Behold, I saw Absalom hanging in a terebinth.'
Ун ом, вэзынд лукрул ачеста, а венит ши а спус луй Иоаб: „Ятэ, ам вэзут пе Абсалом спынзурат де ун стежар.”
11 And Joab said unto the man that told him: 'And, behold, thou sawest it, and why didst thou not smite him there to the ground? and I would have had to give thee ten pieces of silver, and a girdle.'
Ши Иоаб а зис омулуй каре й-а адус штиря ачаста: „Л-ай вэзут! Де че дар ну л-ай тэят пе лок? Ць-аш фи дат зече сикли де арӂинт ши ун брыу.”
12 And the man said unto Joab: 'Though I should receive a thousand pieces of silver in my hand, yet would I not put forth my hand against the king's son; for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying: Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.
Дар омул ачела а зис луй Иоаб: „Кяр дакэ аш кынтэри ын мына мя о мие де сикли де арӂинт, н-аш пуне мына пе фиул ымпэратулуй, кэч ной ам аузит урмэтоаря порункэ пе каре ць-а дат-о ымпэратул цие, луй Абишай ши луй Итай: ‘Луаць сяма фиекаре ла тынэрул Абсалом!’
13 Otherwise if I had dealt falsely against mine own life — and there is no matter hid from the king — then thou thyself wouldest have stood aloof.'
Ши, дакэ л-аш фи оморыт мишелеште, нимик н-ар фи рэмас аскунс ымпэратулуй ши ту ынсуць ай фи фост ымпотрива мя.”
14 Then said Joab: 'I may not tarry thus with thee.' And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the terebinth.
Иоаб а зис: „Ну вой зэбови атыта ку тине!” Ши а луат трей сэӂець ын мынэ ши ле-а ынфипт ын инима луй Абсалом, каре ера ынкэ плин де вяцэ ын мижлокул стежарулуй.
15 And ten young men that bore Joab's armour compassed about and smote Absalom, and slew him.
Зече тинерь, каре дучяу армеле луй Иоаб, ау ынконжурат пе Абсалом, л-ау ловит ши л-ау оморыт.
16 And Joab blew the horn, and the people returned from pursuing after Israel; for Joab held back the people.
Иоаб а сунат дин трымбицэ, ши попорул с-а ынторс, ынчетынд астфел сэ май урмэряскэ пе Исраел, оприт де Иоаб.
17 And they took Absalom, and cast him into the great pit in the forest, and raised over him a very great heap of stones; and all Israel fled every one to his tent. —
Ау луат пе Абсалом, л-ау арункат ынтр-о гроапэ маре дин мижлокул пэдурий ши ау пус песте ел о грэмадэ фоарте маре де петре. Тот Исраелул а фуӂит, фиекаре ын кортул луй.
18 Now Absalom in his life-time had taken and reared up for himself the pillar, which is in the king's dale; for he said: 'I have no son to keep my name in remembrance'; and he called the pillar after his own name; and it is called Absalom's monument unto this day.
Пе кынд трэя, Абсалом ышь ридикасе ун стылп де адучере аминте ын валя ымпэратулуй. Кэч зичя: „Н-ам фий прин каре сэ се поатэ пэстра адучеря аминте а нумелуй меу.” Ши а пус нумеле сэу стылпулуй, каре ши астэзь се нумеште Стылпул луй Абсалом.
19 Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok: 'Let me now run, and bear the king tidings, how that the LORD hath avenged him of his enemies.'
Ахимаац, фиул луй Цадок, а зис: „Ласэ-мэ сэ дау фуга ши сэ дук ымпэратулуй вестя чя бунэ кэ Домнул й-а фэкут дрептате, скэпынду-л дин мына врэжмашилор сэй.”
20 And Joab said unto him: 'Thou shalt not be the bearer of tidings this day, but thou shalt bear tidings another day; but this day thou shalt bear no tidings, forasmuch as the king's son is dead.'
Иоаб й-а зис: „Ну ту ай сэ дучь вештиле азь; ле вей дуче ынтр-о алтэ зи, дар ну астэзь, фииндкэ фиул ымпэратулуй а мурит.”
21 Then said Joab to the Cushite: 'Go tell the king what thou hast seen.' And the Cushite bowed down unto Joab, and ran.
Ши Иоаб а зис луй Куши: „Ду-те ши вестеште ымпэратулуй че ай вэзут.” Куши с-а ынкинат ынаинтя луй Иоаб ши а дат фуга.
22 Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab: 'But come what may, let me, I pray thee, also run after the Cushite.' And Joab said: 'Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou wilt have no reward for the tidings?'
Ахимаац, фиул луй Цадок, а зис ярэшь луй Иоаб: „Орьче с-ар ынтымпла, ласэ-мэ сэ алерг дупэ Куши.” Ши Иоаб а зис: „Пентру че врей сэ алерӂь, фиуле? Ну есте о солие каре-ць ва фи де фолос.”
23 'But come what may, said he, I will run.' And he said unto him: 'Run.' Then Ahimaaz ran by the way of the Plain, and overran the Cushite.
„Орьче с-ар ынтымпла, вряу сэ алерг”, а зис дин ноу Ахимаац. Ши Иоаб й-а зис: „Дэ фуга!” Ахимаац а алергат пе друмул каре дуче ын кымпие ши а луат-о ынаинтя луй Куши.
24 Now David sat between the two gates; and the watchman went up to the roof of the gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone.
Давид шедя ынтре челе доуэ порць. Караула с-а дус пе акоперишул порций спре зид; а ридикат окий ши с-а уйтат. Ши ятэ кэ ун ом алерга сингур-сингурел.
25 And the watchman cried, and told the king. And the king said: 'If he be alone, there is tidings in his mouth.' And he came apace, and drew near.
Караула а стригат ши а дат де штире ымпэратулуй. Ымпэратул а зис: „Дакэ есте сингур, адуче вешть.” Ши омул ачела се апропия дин че ын че май мулт.
26 And the watchman saw another man running; and the watchman called unto the porter, and said: 'Behold another man running alone.' And the king said: 'He also bringeth tidings.'
Караула а вэзут ун алт ом алергынд ши а стригат ла портар: „Ятэ, ун ом аляргэ сингур-сингурел.” Ымпэратул а зис: „Ши ел адуче вешть.”
27 And the watchman said: 'I think the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok.' And the king said: 'He is a good man, and cometh with good tidings.'
Караула а зис: „Алергэтура челуй динтый паре кэ е а луй Ахимаац, фиул луй Цадок.” Ши ымпэратул а зис: „Есте ун ом де бине ши адуче вешть буне.”
28 And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king: 'All is well.' And he bowed down before the king with his face to the earth, and said: 'Blessed be the LORD thy God, who hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.'
Ахимаац а стригат ши а зис ымпэратулуй: „Есте бине де тот!” С-а ынкинат ынаинтя ымпэратулуй ку фаца пынэ ла пэмынт ши а зис: „Бинекувынтат сэ фие Домнул Думнезеул тэу, каре а дат ын мыниле ноастре пе чей че ридикау мына ымпотрива домнулуй ностру, ымпэратул.”
29 And the king said: 'Is it well with the young man Absalom?' And Ahimaaz answered: 'When Joab sent the king's servant, and me thy servant, I saw a great tumult, but I knew not what it was.'
Ымпэратул а зис: „Тынэрул Абсалом есте бине, сэнэтос?” Ахимаац а рэспунс: „Ам вэзут о маре ынвэлмэшялэ кынд а тримис Иоаб пе служиторул ымпэратулуй ши пе мине, служиторул тэу, дар ну штиу че ера.”
30 And the king said: 'Turn aside, and stand here.' And he turned aside, and stood still.
Ши ымпэратул а зис: „Стай коля ла о парте.” Ши Ахимаац а стат деопарте.
31 And, behold, the Cushite came; and the Cushite said: 'Tidings for my lord the king; for the LORD hath avenged thee this day of all them that rose up against thee.'
Ындатэ а сосит Куши. Ши а зис: „Сэ афле домнул меу, ымпэратул, вестя чя бунэ! Астэзь, Домнул ць-а фэкут дрептате, скэпынду-те дин мына тутурор челор че се ридикау ымпотрива та.”
32 And the king said unto the Cushite: 'Is it well with the young man Absalom?' And the Cushite answered: 'The enemies of my lord the king and all that rise up against thee to do thee hurt, be as that young man is.'
Ымпэратул а зис луй Куши: „Тынэрул Абсалом есте бине, сэнэтос?” Куши а рэспунс: „Ка тынэрул ачеста сэ фие врэжмаший домнулуй меу, ымпэратул, ши тоць чей че се ридикэ ымпотрива та, ка сэ-ць факэ рэу!”
33 And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept; and as he went, thus he said: 'O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son!'
Атунч, ымпэратул, кутремурынду-се, с-а суит ын одая де сус а порций ши а плынс. Пе кынд мерӂя, зичя: „Фиул меу Абсалом! Фиул меу, фиул меу Абсалом! Кум н-ам мурит еу ын локул тэу! Абсалом, фиул меу, фиул меу!”
