2 Kings 22
1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem; and his mother's name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
೧ಯೋಷೀಯನು ಅರಸನಾದಾಗ ಎಂಟು ವರ್ಷದವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂವತ್ತೊಂದು ವರ್ಷ ಆಳಿದನು. ಬೊಚ್ಕತೂರಿನವಳೂ ಅದಾಯನ ಮಗಳೂ ಆದ ಯೆದೀದಾ ಎಂಬಾಕೆಯು ಅವನ ತಾಯಿ.
2 And he did that which was right in the eyes of the LORD, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
೨ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋಷೀಯನು ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಎಡಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ ಬಲಕ್ಕಾಗಲಿ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ತನ್ನ ಪೂರ್ವಜನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ನಡೆದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನಾಗಿ ನಡೆದನು.
3 And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan the son of Azaliah, the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of the LORD, saying.
೩ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೋಷೀಯನು ತನ್ನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ಹದಿನೆಂಟನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಚಲ್ಯನ ಮಗನೂ, ಮೆಷುಲ್ಲಾಮನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಲೇಖಕನೂ ಆದ ಶಾಫಾನನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವನಿಗೆ,
4 'Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the money which is brought into the house of the LORD, which the keepers of the door have gathered of the people;
೪“ನೀನು ಮಹಾಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನಿಗೆ ದ್ವಾರಪಾಲಕರು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಜನರಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿಸಿದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ಲೆಕ್ಕಿಸಬೇಕು,
5 and let them deliver it into the hand of the workmen that have the oversight of the house of the LORD; and let them give it to the workmen that are in the house of the LORD, to repair the breaches of the house;
೫ಅದಲ್ಲದೆ ಆಲಯದ ಕೆಲಸಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಬೇಕು, ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರು ಅದನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಲಿ,
6 unto the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons; and for buying timber and hewn stone to repair the house.' —
೬ಬಡಗಿ, ಶಿಲ್ಪಿ, ಮೇಸ್ತ್ರಿ ಮೊದಲಾದವರ ಸಂಬಳಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ, ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಮರ, ಕೆತ್ತಿದ ಕಲ್ಲು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಅದನ್ನು ಉಪಯೋಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಿ,
7 Howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand; for they dealt faithfully.
೭ಅವರು ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತರಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಅವರ ವಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಡುವ ಹಣದ ಲೆಕ್ಕವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಬಾರದು” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
8 And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe: 'I have found the book of the Law in the house of the LORD.' And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
೮ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನು ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಶಾಫಾನನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಗ್ರಂಥವು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿರುತ್ತದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಅದನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಶಾಫಾನನು ಅದನ್ನು ಓದಿದನು.
9 And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought back word unto the king, and said: 'Thy servants have poured out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen that have the oversight of the house of the LORD.'
೯ಅನಂತರ ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಶಾಫಾನನು ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರು ಯೆಹೋವನ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಂಗ್ರಹವಾದ ಹಣವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸುವ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
10 And Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying: 'Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book.' And Shaphan read it before the king.
೧೦ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನು ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಶಾಫಾನನಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಗ್ರಂಥವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಮುಂದೆ ಓದಿದನು.
11 And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the Law, that he rent his clothes.
೧೧ಅರಸನು ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಗ್ರಂಥದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡನು.
12 And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying:
೧೨ಅರಸನು ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯ, ಶಾಫಾನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಹೀಕಾಮ್, ಮೀಕಾಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಕ್ಬೋರ್, ಲೇಖಕನಾದ ಶಾಫಾನ್, ತನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯಕನಾದ ಅಸಾಯ ಎಂಬುವವರಿಗೆ,
13 'Go ye, inquire of the LORD for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is the wrath of the LORD that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.'
೧೩“ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರು ನಮಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿರುವ ಈ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿನ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಿವಿಗೊಡದೆಯೂ, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳದೆಯೂ ಹೋದುದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಉಗ್ರಕೋಪಕ್ಕೆ ಪಾತ್ರರಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ನನಗಾಗಿಯೂ, ಜನರಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ, ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಈ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿನ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳ ಕುರಿತಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe — now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the second quarter — and they spoke with her.
೧೪ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯನು, ಅಹೀಕಾಮ್, ಅಕ್ಬೋರ್, ಶಾಫಾನ್, ಅಸಾಯ, ಎಂಬುವವರು “ಹುಲ್ದ” ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿನಿಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಆಕೆಯ ಹತ್ತಿರ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದರು. ಹರ್ಹಸನ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ತಿಕ್ವನ ಮಗನೂ, ಯಾಜಕವಸ್ತ್ರಾಗಾರದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಶಲ್ಲೂಮನು ಈಕೆಯ ಪತಿ. ಈಕೆಯು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಎರಡನೆಯ ಕೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.
15 And she said unto them: 'Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: Tell ye the man that sent you unto me:
೧೫ಹುಲ್ದಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದವನಿಗೆ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ.
16 Thus saith the LORD: Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read;
೧೬ಯೆಹೋವನು, ‘ಈ ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಮತ್ತು ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನು ಓದಿಸಿದ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಪತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವನು.
17 because they have forsaken Me, and have offered unto other gods, that they might provoke Me with all the work of their hands; therefore My wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it shall not be quenched.
೧೭ಅವರು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಧೂಪಹಾಕಿ ತಮ್ಮ ದುಷ್ಕೃತ್ಯಗಳಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೋಪಗೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಕೋಪಾಗ್ನಿಯು ಈ ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಯಹತ್ತಿದೆ, ಅದು ಆರಿಹೋಗುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ’ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾನೆ.
18 But unto the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of the LORD, thus shall ye say to him: Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: As touching the words which thou hast heard,
೧೮ತಾನು ಕೇಳಿದ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ನೀವು ತಿಳಿಸಬೇಕಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತೇನೆಂದರೆ,
19 because thy heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before the LORD, when thou heardest what I spoke against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become an astonishment and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before Me, I also have heard thee, saith the LORD.
೧೯‘ನಾನು ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನೂ, ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಶಾಪವಿಸ್ಮಯಗಳಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡುವೆನೆಂಬುವುದನ್ನು ನೀನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ, ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಕಣ್ಣೀರು ಸುರಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷಿಸಿದೆನು’
20 Therefore, behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil which I will bring upon this place.' And they brought back word unto the king.
೨೦ಆದುದರಿಂದ, ‘ನಾನು ಈ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಮಾಡುವ ಶಿಕ್ಷೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಒಂದನ್ನೂ ನೋಡದೆ ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಮರಣಹೊಂದಿ ಸಮಾಧಿ ಸೇರುವಂತೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವೆನು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದಳು. ಅವರು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಆ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.
