2 Chronicles 33

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign; and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem.

Manasseh tinha doze anos de idade quando começou a reinar, e reinou cinqüenta e cinco anos em Jerusalém.

2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, after the abominations of the nations, whom the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos de Javé, após as abominações das nações que Javé expulsou diante dos filhos de Israel.

3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down; and he reared up altars for the Baalim, and made Asheroth, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

Pois ele construiu novamente os lugares altos que Ezequias seu pai havia destruído; e levantou altares para os Baal, fez Asheroth, e adorou todo o exército do céu, e os serviu.

4 And he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD said: 'In Jerusalem shall My name be for ever.'

Ele construiu altares na casa de Javé, dos quais Javé disse: “Meu nome estará para sempre em Jerusalém”.

5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

Ele construiu altares para todo o exército do céu nas duas cortes da casa de Iavé.

6 He also made his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom; and he practised soothsaying, and used enchantments, and practised sorcery, and appointed them that divined by a ghost or a familiar spirit; he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him.

Ele também fez seus filhos passarem pelo fogo no vale do filho de Hinnom. Ele praticou feitiçaria, adivinhação e feitiçaria e lidou com aqueles que tinham espíritos familiares e com feiticeiros. Ele fez muito mal aos olhos de Iavé, para provocá-lo à raiva.

7 And he set the graven image of the idol, which he had made, in the house of God, of which God said to David and to Solomon his son: 'In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put My name for ever;

Ele colocou a imagem gravada do ídolo, que ele havia feito, na casa de Deus, da qual Deus disse a Davi e a Salomão seu filho: “Nesta casa, e em Jerusalém, que escolhi dentre todas as tribos de Israel, porei meu nome para sempre”.

8 neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from off the land which I have appointed for your fathers; if only they will observe to do all that I have commanded them, even all the law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.'

Não removerei mais o pé de Israel da terra que designei para seus pais, se apenas eles observarem para fazer tudo o que lhes ordenei, mesmo toda a lei, os estatutos e as ordenanças dadas por Moisés”.

9 And Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, so that they did evil more than did the nations, whom the LORD destroyed before the children of Israel.

Manassés seduziu Judá e os habitantes de Jerusalém, de modo que fizeram mais mal do que as nações que Javé destruiu diante dos filhos de Israel.

10 And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his people; but they gave no heed.

Yahweh falou com Manasseh e com seu povo, mas eles não ouviram.

11 Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

Portanto, Javé trouxe sobre eles os capitães do exército do rei da Assíria, que levaram Manassés acorrentado, amarraram-no com grilhões e o levaram para a Babilônia.

12 And when he was in distress, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers.

Quando estava em perigo, implorou a Javé seu Deus, e se humilhou muito diante do Deus de seus pais.

13 And he prayed unto Him; and He was entreated of him, and heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD He was God.

Ele rezou a ele; e foi por ele tratado, ouviu sua súplica e o trouxe novamente a Jerusalém para seu reino. Então Manassés sabia que Yahweh era Deus.

14 Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate; and he compassed about Ophel, and raised it up a very great height; and he put captains of the army in all the fortified cities of Judah.

Agora, depois disso, ele construiu uma muralha externa para a cidade de David no lado oeste de Gihon, no vale, até a entrada do portão do peixe. Ele cercou Ophel com ela, e a elevou a uma altura muito grande; e colocou capitães valentes em todas as cidades fortificadas de Judá.

15 And he took away the strange gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

Ele tirou os deuses estrangeiros e o ídolo da casa de Iavé, e todos os altares que ele havia construído na montanha da casa de Iavé e em Jerusalém, e os expulsou da cidade.

16 And he built up the altar of the LORD, and offered thereon sacrifices of peace-offerings and of thanksgiving, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD, the God of Israel.

Ele construiu o altar de Iavé e ofereceu sacrifícios de ofertas de paz e de ação de graças sobre ele, e ordenou a Judá que servisse a Iavé, o Deus de Israel.

17 Nevertheless the people did sacrifice still in the high places, but only unto the LORD their God.

Mesmo assim o povo ainda se sacrificava nos lugares altos, mas somente a Iavé seu Deus.

18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the words of the seers that spoke to him in the name of the LORD, the God of Israel, behold, they are written among the acts of the kings of Israel.

Agora o resto dos atos de Manassés, e sua oração ao seu Deus, e as palavras dos videntes que lhe falaram em nome de Iavé, o Deus de Israel, eis que estão escritos entre os atos dos reis de Israel.

19 His prayer also, and how God was entreated of him, and all his sin and his transgression, and the places wherein he built high places, and set up the Asherim and the graven images, before he humbled himself; behold, they are written in the history of the seers.

Sua oração também, e como Deus escutou seu pedido, e todo seu pecado e sua transgressão, e os lugares em que ele construiu lugares altos e ergueu os postes de cinza e as imagens gravadas antes de se humilhar: eis que estão escritas na história de Hozai.

20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house; and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

So Manasseh dormiu com seus pais, e eles o enterraram em sua própria casa; e Amon seu filho reinou em seu lugar.

21 Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign; and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.

Amon tinha vinte e dois anos quando começou a reinar; e reinou dois anos em Jerusalém.

22 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father; and Amon sacrificed unto all the graven images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them.

Ele fez o que era mau aos olhos de Iavé, assim como Manassés seu pai; e Amon sacrificou a todas as imagens gravadas que Manassés seu pai tinha feito, e as serviu.

23 And he humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but this same Amon became guilty more and more.

Ele não se humilhou perante Iavé, como Manassés seu pai se humilhou; mas este mesmo Amon transgrediu cada vez mais.

24 And his servants conspired against him, and put him to death in his own house.

Seus servos conspiraram contra ele, e o mataram em sua própria casa.

25 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

Mas o povo da terra matou todos aqueles que haviam conspirado contra o rei Amon; e o povo da terra fez de Josias seu filho rei em seu lugar.
