2 Chronicles 2
1 Now Solomon purposed to build a house for the name of the LORD, and a house for his kingdom.
Determinou, pois, Salomão edificar casa ao nome do SENHOR, e outra casa para seu reino.
2 And Solomon counted out threescore and ten thousand men to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand men that were hewers in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred to oversee them.
E contou Salomão setenta mil homens que levassem cargas, e oitenta mil homens que cortassem no monte, e três mil e seiscentos que os governassem.
3 And Solomon sent to Huram the king of Tyre, saying: 'As thou didst deal with David my father, and didst send him cedars to build him a house to dwell therein, even so deal with me.
E enviou a dizer Salomão a Hirão rei de Tiro: Faze comigo como fizeste com Davi meu pai, enviando-lhe cedros para que edificasse para si casa em que morasse.
4 Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of the LORD my God, to dedicate it to Him, and to burn before Him incense of sweet spices, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt-offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the appointed seasons of the LORD our God. This is an ordinance for ever to Israel.
Eis aqui eu tenho que edificar casa ao nome do SENHOR meu Deus, para consagrá-la, para queimar perfumes aromáticos diante dele, e para a colocação contínua dos pães da proposição, e para holocaustos a manhã e tarde, e os sábados, e luas novas, e festividades do SENHOR nosso Deus; o qual será perpétuo em Israel.
5 And the house which I build is great; for great is our God above all gods.
E a casa que tenho que edificar, há de ser grande: porque o Deus nosso é grande sobre todos os deuses.
6 But who is able to build Him a house, seeing the heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Him? who am I then, that I should build Him a house, save only to offer before Him?
Mas quem será tão poderoso que lhe edifique casa? Os céus e os céus dos céus não lhe podem compreender; quem, pois, sou eu, que lhe edifique casa, a não ser para queimar perfumes diante dele?
7 Now therefore send me a man skilful to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in iron, and in purple, and crimson, and blue, and that hath skill to grave all manner of gravings, to be with the skilful men that are with me in Judah and in Jerusalem, whom David my father did provide.
Envia-me, pois, agora um homem hábil, que saiba trabalhar em ouro, e em prata, e em bronze, e em ferro, em púrpura, e em carmesim, e em azul, e que saiba esculpir com os mestres que estão comigo em Judá e em Jerusalém, os quais preparou meu pai.
8 Send me also cedar-trees, cypress-trees, and sandal-wood, out of Lebanon; for I know that thy servants have skill to cut timber in Lebanon; and, behold, my servants shall be with thy servants,
Envia-me também madeira de cedro, de faia, de pinho, do Líbano: porque eu sei que teus servos entendem de cortar madeira no Líbano; e eis que meus servos irão com os teus,
9 even to prepare me timber in abundance; for the house which I am about to build shall be great and wonderful.
Para que me preparem muita madeira, porque a casa que tenho de edificar há de ser grande e imponente.
10 And, behold, I will give to thy servants, the hewers that cut timber, twenty thousand measures of beaten wheat, and twenty thousand measures of barley, and twenty thousand baths of wine, and twenty thousand baths of oil.'
E eis que para os operários teus servos, cortadores da madeira, ei dado vinte mil coros de trigo em grão, e vinte mil coros de cevada, e vinte mil batos de vinho, e vinte mil batos de azeite.
11 Then Huram the king of Tyre answered in writing, which he sent to Solomon: 'Because the LORD loveth His people, He hath made thee king over them.'
Então Hirão rei de Tiro respondeu por carta, a qual enviou a Salomão: Porque o SENHOR amou a seu povo, te pôs por rei sobre eles.
12 Huram said moreover: 'Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, that made heaven and earth, who hath given to David the king a wise son, endued with discretion and understanding, that should build a house for the LORD, and a house for his kingdom.
E ademais dizia Hirão: Bendito seja o SENHOR o Deus de Israel, que fez os céus e a terra, e que deu ao rei Davi filho sábio, entendido, de bom senso e prudente, que edifique casa ao SENHOR, e casa para seu reino.
13 And now I have sent a skilful man, endued with understanding, even Huram my master craftsman,
Eu, pois, te enviei um homem hábil e entendido, que foi de Hirão meu pai,
14 the son of a woman of the daughters of Dan, and his father was a man of Tyre, skilful to work in gold, and in silver, in brass, in iron, in stone, and in timber, in purple, in blue, and in fine linen, and in crimson; also to grave any manner of graving, and to devise any device; to do whatever may be set before him, with thy skilful men, and with the skilful men of my lord David thy father.
Filho de uma mulher das filhas de Dã, mas seu pai foi de Tiro; o qual sabe trabalhar em ouro, e prata, e bronze, e ferro, em pedra e em madeira, em púrpura, e em azul, em linho e em carmesim; assim para esculpir todas as figuras, e tirar toda sorte de desenho que lhe for proposto, e [estar] com teus homens peritos, e com os do meu senhor Davi, teu pai.
15 Now therefore the wheat and the barley, the oil and the wine, which my lord hath spoken of, let him send unto his servants;
Agora, pois, enviará meu senhor a seus servos o trigo e cevada, e azeite e vinho, que disse;
16 and we will cut wood out of Lebanon, as much as thou shalt need; and we will bring it to thee in floats by sea to Joppa; and thou shalt carry it up to Jerusalem.'
E nós cortaremos no Líbano a madeira que houveres necessidade, e te a traremos em balsas pelo mar até Jope, e tu a farás levar até Jerusalém.
17 And Solomon numbered all the strangers that were in the land of Israel, after the numbering wherewith David his father had numbered them; and they were found a hundred and fifty thousand and three thousand and six hundred.
E contou Salomão todos os homens estrangeiros que estavam na terra de Israel, depois de havê-los já contado Davi seu pai, e foram achados cento cinquenta e três mil seiscentos.
18 And he set threescore and ten thousand of them to bear burdens, and fourscore thousand to be hewers in the mountains, and three thousand and six hundred overseers to set the people at work.
E assinalou deles setenta mil para levar cargas, e oitenta mil que cortassem no monte, e três mil e seiscentos por capatazes para fazer trabalhar ao povo.
