1 Samuel 10

1 Then Samuel took the vial of oil, and poured it upon his head, and kissed him, and said: 'Is it not that the LORD hath anointed thee to be prince over His inheritance?

१तेव्हा शमुवेलाने तेलाची कुपी घेतली, शौलाच्या डोक्यावर ओतली, आणि त्याचे चुंबन घेऊन म्हटले, “परमेश्वराने तुला आपल्या वतनावर राजा होण्यास अभिषेक केला म्हणून हे झाले की नाही?

2 When thou art departed from me to-day, then thou shalt find two men by the tomb of Rachel, in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee: The asses which thou wentest to seek are found; and, lo, thy father hath left off caring for the asses, and is anxious concerning you, saying: What shall I do for my son?

२आज तू माझ्यापासून गेल्यावर राहेलीच्या कबरेजवळ बन्यामिनाच्या प्रांतात सेल्सह येथे तुला दोन माणसे भेटतील ती तुला म्हणतील की, ज्या गाढवांचा शोध करायला तू गेला होतास ती सांपडली आहेत. पाहा तुझा बाप गाढवांची काळजी सोडून, तुझी चिंता करीत आहे, तो म्हणतो, मी आपल्या मुलासाठी काय करू?”

3 Then shalt thou go on forward from thence, and thou shalt come to the terebinth of Tabor, and there shall meet thee there three men going up to God to Beth-el, one carrying three kids, and another carrying three loaves of bread, and another carrying a bottle of wine.

३मग तेथून तू पुढे जाऊन, ताबोराच्या एलोनाजवळ पोहचशील. तेव्हा तेथे तीन करडू नेणारा एक व तीन भाकरी नेणारा एक व द्राक्षरसाची बुधली नेणारा एक अशी तीन माणसे देवाकडे बेथेलला जात असलेली तुला भेटतील.

4 And they will salute thee, and give thee two cakes of bread; which thou shalt receive of their hand.

४आणि ती तुला अभिवादन करून तुला दोन भाकरी देतील त्या तू त्यांच्या हातातून घेशील.

5 After that thou shalt come to the hill of God, where is the garrison of the Philistines; and it shall come to pass, when thou art come thither to the city, that thou shalt meet a band of prophets coming down from the high place with a psaltery, and a timbrel, and a pipe, and a harp, before them; and they will be prophesying.

५त्यानंतर परमेश्वराच्या टेकडीला म्हणजे जेथे पलिष्ट्यांची चौकी आहे तेथे जाशील. आणि तू तेथे नगरास पोहचल्यावर भविष्यवाद्यांचा गट आणि त्यांच्यापुढे सतार, झांज, बासरी व वीणा वाजवणारे उंचस्थानावरून उतरत असता तू त्यांना भेटशील; ते भविष्यवाणी करीत असतील.

6 And the spirit of the LORD will come mightily upon thee, and thou shalt prophesy with them, and shalt be turned into another man.

६परमेश्वराचा आत्मा जोराने तुझ्यावर येईल आणि त्यांच्याबरोबर तू भविष्यवाणी करशील, आणि तू बदलून निराळा पुरुष होशील.

7 And let it be, when these signs are come unto thee, that thou do as thy hand shall find; for God is with thee.

७आता, जेव्हा ही सर्व चिन्हे तुला प्राप्त होतील, तेव्हा असे होवो की, तुला प्रसंग मिळेल तसे तू कर, कारण परमेश्वर तुझ्याबरोबर असेल.

8 And thou shalt go down before me to Gilgal; and, behold, I will come down unto thee, to offer burnt-offerings, and to sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings; seven days shalt thou tarry, till I come unto thee, and tell thee what thou shalt do.'

८तेव्हा तू माझ्या अगोदर खाली गिलगालास जा. पाहा होमार्पणे अर्पण करायला व शांत्यर्पणाचे यज्ञ करायला मी खाली तुझ्याकडे येईन. मी तुझ्याकडे येऊन जे तुला करायचे आहे ते तुला कळवीन तोपर्यंत सात दिवस तू माझी वाट पाहा.

9 And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart; and all those signs came to pass that day.

९आणि असे झाले की, शमुवेलापासून जायला त्याने आपली पाठ फिरवल्यावर, परमेश्वराने त्यास दुसरे मन दिले. आणि ती सर्व चिन्हे त्याच दिवशी त्यास प्राप्त झाली.

10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a band of prophets met him; and the spirit of God came mightily upon him, and he prophesied among them.

१०जेव्हा ते डोंगराजवळ आले, तेव्हा पाहा भविष्यवाद्यांचा गट त्यास भेटला आणि देवाचा आत्मा जोराने त्याच्यावर आला व त्याच्यामध्ये तो भविष्यवाणी करू लागला.

11 And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied with the prophets, then the people said one to another: 'What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets?'

११तेव्हा असे झाले की, ज्यांना पूर्वी त्याची ओळख होती, त्या सर्वांनी पाहिले की तो भविष्यवक्त्यांबरोबर भविष्यवाणी करत आहे, ते लोक एकमेकांना म्हणू लागले की, “कीशाच्या मुलाला हे काय झाले? शौल भविष्यवक्त्यांपैकी एक आहे काय?”

12 And one of the same place answered and said: 'And who is their father?' Therefore it became a proverb: 'Is Saul also among the prophets?'

१२तेव्हा त्या ठिकाणाचा कोणी एक उत्तर देऊन बोलला, “त्यांचा बाप कोण आहे?” यावरुन, अशी म्हण पडली की, शौलही भविष्यवाद्यांमध्ये आहे काय?

13 And when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high place.

१३भविष्यवाणी करणे समाप्त केल्यावर तो उंचस्थानाकडे आला.

14 And Saul's uncle said unto him and to his servant: 'Whither went ye?' And he said: 'To seek the asses; and when we saw that they were not found, we came to Samuel.'

१४नंतर, शौलाचा काका त्यास व त्याच्या चाकराला म्हणाला, “तुम्ही कोठे गेला होता?” तो बोलला, “आम्ही गाढवांचा शोध करीत गेलो; ती नाहीत असे पाहून, आम्ही शमुवेलाकडे गेलो.”

15 And Saul's uncle said: 'Tell me, I pray thee, what Samuel said unto you.'

१५मग शौलाचा काका म्हणाला, “मी तुला विनंती करतो शमुवेल तुम्हाशी काय बोलला ते मला सांग.”

16 And Saul said unto his uncle: 'He told us plainly that the asses were found.' But concerning the matter of the kingdom, whereof Samuel spoke, he told him not.

१६तेव्हा शौल आपल्या काकाला म्हणाला, “गाढवे सापडली असे त्याने आम्हास उघड सांगितले.” परंतु राज्याविषयीची जी गोष्ट शमुवेल बोलला ती त्याने त्यास सांगितली नाही.

17 And Samuel called the people together unto the LORD to Mizpah.

१७मग शमुवेलाने लोकांस मिस्पा येथे परमेश्वराजवळ बोलावले.

18 And he said unto the children of Israel: 'Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel: I brought up Israel out of Egypt, and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of all the kingdoms that oppressed you.

१८तेव्हा तो इस्राएलाच्या संतानाना म्हणाला, “परमेश्वर इस्राएलाचा देव असे म्हणतो, मी मिसरातून इस्राएलास वर आणले, आणि मिसऱ्यांच्या हातातून व तुम्हास पीडणारी जी राज्ये त्या सर्वांच्या हातातून तुम्हास सोडवले.

19 But ye have this day rejected your God, who Himself saveth you out of all your calamities and your distresses; and ye have said unto Him: Nay, but set a king over us. Now therefore present yourselves before the LORD by your tribes, and by your thousands.'

१९परंतु तुमचा परमेश्वर, जो स्वत: तुमच्या सर्व शत्रूपासून व तुमच्या संकटातून तुम्हास सोडवतो त्यास तुम्ही आज नाकारले; आणि आम्हांवर राजा नेमून ठेव, असे त्यास म्हटले. तर आता आपल्या वंशाप्रमाणे व आपल्या हजारांप्रमाणे परमेश्वराच्या समोर उभे राहा.”

20 So Samuel brought all the tribes of Israel near, and the tribe of Benjamin was taken.

२०शमुवेलाने इस्राएलाचे सर्व वंश जवळ आणले, तेव्हा बन्यामिनाचा वंश निवडून घेण्यात आला.

21 And he brought the tribe of Benjamin near by their families, and the family of the Matrites was taken; and Saul the son of Kish was taken; but when they sought him, he could not be found.

२१मग त्याने बन्यामिनाचा वंश त्यातील घराण्याप्रमाणे जवळ आणला; आणि मात्रीचे घराणे आणि कीशाचा मुलगा शौल निवडून घेण्यात आला. पण जेव्हा त्यांनी त्याचा शोध केला तेव्हा तो सापडला नाही.

22 Therefore they asked of the LORD further: 'Is there yet a man come hither?' And the LORD answered: 'Behold, he hath hid himself among the baggage.'

२२मग त्यांनी परमेश्वरास आणखी विचारले की, “तो पुरुष इकडे फिरून येईल काय?” तेव्हा परमेश्वराने उत्तर दिले, “पाहा तो सामानामध्ये लपला आहे.”

23 And they ran and fetched him thence; and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward.

२३मग त्यांनी धावत जाऊन त्यास तेथून आणले. तो लोकांमध्ये उभा राहिला तेव्हा सर्व लोक त्याच्या खांद्यास लागत इतका तो उंच होता.

24 And Samuel said to all the people: 'See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people?' And all the people shouted, and said: 'Long live the king.'

२४तेव्हा शमुवेल सर्व लोकांस म्हणाला, “ज्याला परमेश्वराने निवडले त्यास तुम्ही पाहता काय? त्याच्यासारखा सर्व लोकात कोणी नाही!” सर्व लोक ओरडून म्हणाले, “राजा दीर्घायुषी होवो!”

25 Then Samuel told the people the manner of the kingdom, and wrote it in a book, and laid it up before the LORD. And Samuel sent all the people away, every man to his house.

२५तेव्हा शमुवेलाने राजाच्या कारभाराचे नियम आणि कायदे लोकांस सांगितले, आणि ते एका पुस्तकात लिहून परमेश्वराच्या समोर ठेवले. मग शमुवेलाने सर्व लोकांस आपापल्या घरी पाठवून दिले.

26 And Saul also went to his house to Gibeah; and there went with him the men of valour, whose hearts God had touched.

२६शौलही आपल्या घरी गिबा येथे गेला, आणि ज्यांच्या मनाला परमेश्वराने स्पर्श केला, अशी काही बलवान माणसे त्यांच्याबरोबर गेली.

27 But certain base fellows said: 'How shall this man save us?' And they despised him, and brought him no present. But he was as one that held his peace.

२७परंतु काही कुचकामी माणसे होती ती म्हणाली, “हा पुरुष आम्हास कसा काय सोडवील?” त्यांनी त्याचा अनादर केला व त्यास काही भेट आणली नाही. पण शौल शांत राहिला.
