1 Chronicles 5

1 And the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel — for he was the first-born; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's couch, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel, yet not so that he was to be reckoned in the genealogy as first-born.

Quanto aos filhos de Rúben, primogênito de Israel (porque ele era o primogênito, mas como profanou a cama de de seu pai, seu direito de primogenitura foi dado aos filhos de José, filho de Israel; e não foi contado por primogênito.

2 For Judah prevailed above his brethren, and of him came he that is the prince; but the birthright was Joseph's —

Pois Judá foi o mais poderoso sobre seus irmãos, e o líder veio dele; mas o direito de primogenitura pertenceu a José).

3 the sons of Reuben the first-born of Israel: Hanoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.

Os filhos de Rúben, primogênito de Israel, foram, pois: Enoque, Palu, Hezrom e Carmi.

4 The sons of Joel: Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son;

Os filhos de Joel foram: seu filho Semaías, seu filho Gogue, seu filho Simei;

5 Micah his son, Reaiah his son, Baal his son;

Seu filho Mica, seu filho Reaías, seu filho Baal;

6 Beerah his son, whom Tillegath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive; he was prince of the Reubenites.

Seu filho Beera, o qual foi transportado por Tiglate-Pilneser, rei dos Assírios. Este era um líder dos Rubenitas.

7 And his brethren by their families, when the genealogy of their generations was reckoned: the chief Jeiel, and Zechariah,

E seus irmãos por suas famílias, quando foram registrados em suas descendências, tinham por líderes a Jeiel, Zacarias.

8 and Bela the son of Azaz, the son of Shema, the son of Joel, who dwelt in Aroer, even unto Nebo and Baal-meon;

E Belá, filho de Azaz, filho de Sema, filho de Joel. Eles habitaram em Aroer até Nebo e Baal-Meom.

9 and eastward he dwelt even unto the entrance of the wilderness from the river Euphrates; because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.

Habitaram também desde o oriente até a entrada do deserto desde o rio Eufrates; porque seu gado tinha se multiplicado na terra de Gileade.

10 And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagrites, who fell by their hand; and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the land east of Gilead.

E nos dias de Saul fizeram guerra contra os hagarenos, que caíram em suas mãos; e eles habitaram em suas tendas sobre toda a região oriental de Gileade.

11 And the sons of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salcah:

E os filhos de Gade habitaram na vizinhança deles na terra de Basã até Salca.

12 Joel the chief, and Shapham the second, and Janai, and Shaphat in Bashan;

E Joel foi o líder em Basã, o segundo Safã, em seguida Janai, e Safate.

13 and their brethren of their fathers' houses: Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jacan, and Zia, and Eber, seven.

E seus irmãos, segundo as famílias de seus pais, foram sete: Micael, Mesulão, Sebá, Jorai, Jacã, Zia, e Héber.

14 These were the sons of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jehishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;

Estes foram os filhos de Abiail filho de Huri, filho de Jaroa, filho de Gileade, filho de Micael, filho de Jesisai, filho de Jado, filho de Buz.

15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of their fathers' houses.

Aí, filho de Abdiel, filho de Guni, foi chefe da casa de seus pais.

16 And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in the towns thereof, and in all the open lands of the plain, upon their borders.

Eles habitaram em Gileade, em Basã, e em suas aldeias, e em todos os campos de Sarom até os seus extremos.

17 All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.

Todos estes foram contados segundo suas genealogias nos dias de Jotão, rei de Judá, e no dias de Jeroboão, rei de Israel.

18 The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, as many as were valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were forty and four thousand seven hundred and threescore, that were able to go forth to war.

Os filhos de Rúben, e de Gade, e da meia tribo de Manassés, homens guerreiros, homens que traziam escudo e espada, que entesavam arco, e habilidosos em guerra, havia quarenta e quatro mil setecentos e sessenta capazes de ir para a batalha.

19 And they made war with the Hagrites, with Jetur, and Naphish, and Nodab.

E fizeram guerra contra os Hagarenos, como também a Jetur, Nafis, e Nodabe.

20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagrites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them; for they cried to God in the battle, and He was entreated of them, because they put their trust in Him.

E foram ajudados contra ele; assim os hagarenos, e todos quantos estavam com eles, foram enregues em suas mãos, porque clamaram a Deus na batalha, e ele lhes atendeu, pois confiaram nele.

21 And they took away their cattle: of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand; and of souls of men a hundred thousand.

E tomaram seu gado, cinquenta mil de seus camelos, duzentas e cinquenta mil ovelhas, dois mil asnos, e cem mil pessoas.

22 For there fell many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their stead until the captivity.

E muitos caíram mortos, porque a guerra era de Deus; e habitaram em seus lugares até o cativeiro.

23 And the children of the half-tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land, from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir and mount Hermon, where they increased.

E os filhos da meia tribo de Manassés habitaram naquela terra, e eles se multiplicaram desde Basã até Baal-Hermom, e Senir e o monte de Hermom.

24 And these were the heads of their fathers' houses: Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, heads of their fathers' houses.

E estes foram os cabeças das casas de seus pais: Efer, Isi, Eliel, Azriel, Jeremias, Hodavias, e Jadiel, homens valentes e fortes, homens renomados, e cabeças das casas de seus pais.

25 And they broke faith with the God of their fathers, and went astray after the gods of the peoples of the land, whom God destroyed before them.

Porém eles transgrediram contra o Deus de seus pais, e se prostituíram seguindo os deuses dos povos da terra, aos quais o SENHOR havia destruído de diante deles.

26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tillegath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river of Gozan, unto this day.

Por isso o Deus de Israel despertou ao espírito de Pul, rei da Assíria, e ao espírito de Tiglate-Pilneser, rei da Assíria, o qual levou presos os rubenitas, os gaditas e à meia tribo de Manassés, e os trouxe até Hala, Habor, Hara, e ao rio Gozã, até hoje.
