1 Chronicles 11
1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying: 'Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.
इसके बाद सारा इस्राएल हेब्रोन में दावीद से भेंट करने इकट्ठा आए और उनके समक्ष यह प्रस्ताव रखा, “विचार कीजिए, हम आप ही की अस्थि और मांस हैं.
2 In times past, even when Saul was king, it was thou that didst lead out and bring in Israel; and the LORD thy God said unto thee: Thou shalt feed My people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over My people Israel.'
पिछले सालों में जबकि राजा तो शाऊल थे किंतु ये आप ही थे, जो हमारा मार्गदर्शन और इस्राएली सेना को चलाते रहे. याहवेह आपके परमेश्वर ने आपसे कहा था, ‘तुम मेरी प्रजा इस्राएल के चरवाहे होगे, तुम मेरी प्रजा इस्राएल के शासक होगे.’”
3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by the hand of Samuel.
इसलिये इस्राएल के सारे प्राचीन हेब्रोन नगर में राजा के सामने इकट्ठा हुए. राजा दावीद ने याहवेह के सामने उनसे वाचा बांधी. तत्पश्चात उन्होंने याहवेह के संदेश के अनुसार, जो उन्होंने शमुएल द्वारा दिया गया था, इस्राएल देश के लिए दावीद का राजाभिषेक किया.
4 And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem — the same is Jebus — and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there.
दावीद और सारा इस्राएल येरूशलेम की ओर गया. येरूशलेम (यानी यबूस), जहां यबूसी रहते थे. ये ही क्षेत्र के मूल निवासी थे.
5 And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David: 'Thou shalt not come in hither.' Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.
यबूसियों ने दावीद से कहा, “आप इस नगर में कभी आने न पाओगे.” फिर भी दावीद ने ज़ियोन गढ़ पर अधिकार कर लिया, जिसे दावीद-नगर भी कहा जाता है.
6 And David said: 'Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain.' And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.
दावीद ने घोषणा की, “जो कोई सबसे पहले यबूसियों पर हमला करेगा, सेना का प्रधान और सेनापति ठहराया जाएगा.” ज़ेरुइयाह का पुत्र योआब सबसे पहले वहां पहुंच गया, तब उसे सेनापति का पद दे दिया गया.
7 And David dwelt in the stronghold; therefore they called it the city of David.
दावीद ने गढ़ में रहना शुरू कर दिया. यही कारण है कि यह दावीद-नगर नाम से जाना जाने लगा.
8 And he built the city round about, from Millo even round about; and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
दावीद ने इसी के चारों ओर नगर को बनाया, मिल्लो से शुरू करते हुए आस-पास के इलाके तक. योआब ने नगर का बाकी काम भी पूरा किया.
9 And David waxed greater and greater; for the LORD of hosts was with him.
दावीद पर सर्वशक्तिमान याहवेह की कृपादृष्टि थी तब दावीद धीरे धीरे मजबूत होते चले गए.
10 Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who held strongly with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.
दावीद के वीरों में प्रमुख, जो इस्राएली सेना के अलावा उनके राज्य में उनके लिए मजबूत आधार थे, जिन्होंने दावीद को राजा बनाने में, इस्राएल के संबंध में याहवेह के वचन के अनुसार सहयोग दिया था,
11 And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the captains; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them at one time.
दावीद के उन वीरों की गिनती इस प्रकार है: हकमोनवासी यासोबअम तीस का प्रमुख था. उसने 300 सैनिकों पर अपने भाले से वार किया और एक ही वार में इनको मार डाला.
12 And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.
उसके बाद अहोही दोदो का पुत्र एलिएज़र, जो तीन वीरों में से एक था.
13 He was with David at Pas-dammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
पस-दम्मीम में वही दावीद के साथ था, जब वहां फिलिस्तीनियों ने युद्ध के लिए मोर्चा बांधा था. वहां जौ की उपज का एक खेत था. प्रजा फिलिस्तीनियों से बचकर भाग रही थी.
14 But they stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great victory.
उन्होंने खेत के बीच में रहते हुए उनका सामना किया, उस खेत की रक्षा करते रहे और फिलिस्तीनियों को मार गिराया. याहवेह ने बड़ी जीत के द्वारा उनकी रक्षा की.
15 And three of the thirty chiefs went down to the rock to David, unto the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
चट्टान में अदुल्लाम गुफा में तीस प्रमुख अधिकारियों में से तीन दावीद से भेंट करने गए. इस समय फिलिस्तीनी सेना रेफाइम की घाटी में शिविर डाले हुए थी.
16 And David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Beth-lehem.
इस समय दावीद गढ़ में थे, और फिलिस्तीनी सेना बेथलेहेम में.
17 And David longed, and said: 'Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth-lehem, which is by the gate!'
बड़ी इच्छा से दावीद कह उठे, “कैसा सुखद होता अगर कोई बेथलेहेम फाटक के पास के कुएं से मुझे पीने के लिए पानी ला देता!”
18 And the three broke through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Beth-lehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; but David would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD,
वे तीनों फिलिस्तीनियों के शिविर में से बचते-बचाते जाकर उस कुएं से, जो बेथलेहेम के द्वार के निकट था, दावीद के लिए जल ले आए. मगर दावीद ने वह जल पिया नहीं, उन्होंने उसे याहवेह के सामने उंडेल दिया.
19 and said: 'My God forbid it me, that I should do this; shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it.' Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.
और कहा, “मेरे परमेश्वर के सामने मुझसे यह काम कभी न हो. क्या मैं इन लोगों का लहू पीऊं, जो अपने प्राण जोखिम में डाल मेरे लिए यह जल लाए हैं?” इसलिये दावीद ने वह जल नहीं पिया. ऐसे साहसिक थे इन वीरों के कार्य.
20 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three; for he lifted up his spear against three hundred and slew them, and had a name among the three.
योआब का भाई अबीशाई तीस सैनिकों पर अधिकारी था. उसने तीन सौ पर अपनी बर्छी घुमाई और उनको मार गिराया. उसने भी उन तीनों के समान प्रतिष्ठा प्राप्त की.
21 Of the three in the second rank he was the most honourable, and was made their captain; howbeit he attained not to the first three.
दूसरे वर्ग में जो तीन थे, उनमें वह सबसे अधिक प्रतिष्ठित था. वही उनका प्रधान बन गया; मगर वह उन तीन के सामने न आ सका.
22 Beniah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he smote the two altar-hearths of Moab; he went down also and slew a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.
कबज़ीएल के एक वीर के पोते, यहोयादा के पुत्र बेनाइयाह ने बड़े-बड़े काम किए थे उसने मोआब के अरीएल के दो पुत्रों को मार गिराया. उसने ही उस दिन, जब बर्फ गिर रही थी, जाकर एक गड्ढे में बैठे सिंह का वध किया था.
23 And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.
उसने एक बहुत ही लंबे कद के मिस्रवासी का, जो लगभग साढ़े सात फुट का था, वध किया था. उस मिस्री के हाथ में जो भाला था, वह बुनकर की बल्ली के समान था. किंतु बेनाइया अपने हाथ में सिर्फ एक लाठी ले उसके निकट गया और उस मिस्री के हाथ से उसका भाला छीन उसी से उसको मार डाला.
24 These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had a name among the three mighty men.
यहोयादा के पुत्र बेनाइयाह ने ये सारे काम किए और उन तीन वीरों के समान प्रतिष्ठा प्राप्त की.
25 Behold, he was more honourable than the thirty, but he attained not to the first three; and David set him over his guard.
वह उन तीस में ही प्रख्यात हुआ, मगर उन तीन के तुल्य नहीं. दावीद ने उसे अपने अंगरक्षक का अधिकारी नियुक्त कर दिया.
26 Also the mighty men of valour: Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Beth-lehem;
वीर ये थे: योआब का भाई आसाहेल, बेथलेहेमवासी दोदो का पुत्र एलहानन,
27 Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite;
हारोर का शम्मोथ, पेलोन का हेलेस,
28 Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Anathothite;
तकोआ के इक्केश का पुत्र ईरा, अनाथोथवासी अबीएज़ेर,
29 Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite;
हुशाथी सिब्बेकाई, अहोही इलाई,
30 Mahrai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite;
नेतोफ़ाही माहाराई, नेतोफ़ाही का ही बाअनाह का पुत्र हेलेद,
31 Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite;
बिन्यामिन वंश के गिबियाह के रिबाई का पुत्र इथाई, पीराथोनवासी बेनाइयाह,
32 Hurai of Nahale-gaash, Abiel the Arbathite;
गाश की नदियों से हुराई, अरबाथवासी अबीएल,
33 Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite;
बाहारूमवासी अज़मावेथ, शालबोनी एलीअहाब,
34 the sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shageh the Hararite;
गीज़ोनी हशेम के पुत्र, हारारवासी शागी का पुत्र योनातन,
35 Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur;
हारारवासी साकार का पुत्र अहीयम, ऊर का पुत्र एलिफाल,
36 Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite;
मेखेराथी हेफेर, पेलोनवासी अहीयाह,
37 Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai;
कर्मेल का हेज़ोरो, एज़बाई का पुत्र नआराई,
38 Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Hagri;
नाथान का भाई योएल, हागरी का पुत्र मिबहार,
39 Zelek the Ammonite, Nahrai the Berothite, the armour-bearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah;
अम्मोनवासी सेलेक, बीरोथवासी नाहाराई, जो ज़ेरुइयाह के पुत्र योआब का हथियार उठानेवाला था.
40 Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite;
इथरवासी ईरा, इथरवासी गारेब.
41 Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai;
हित्ती उरियाह, अहलाई का पुत्र ज़ाबाद,
42 Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a chief of the Reubenites, and thirty with him;
रुबेनवंशी शीज़ा का पुत्र आदिन, जो रियूबेन के वंशों का प्रधान था. ये तीस भी उसके साथ थे,
43 Hanan the son of Maacah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite;
माकाह का पुत्र हानन, और मिथिनवासी यहोशाफ़ात,
44 Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jeiel the sons of Hotham the Aroerite;
अश्तारोथवासी उज्जियाह, अरोअरवासी होथाम के पुत्र शमा और येइएल.
45 Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite;
शिमरी का पुत्र येदिआएल, और उसका भाई तित्सी योहा.
46 Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite;
महाव-वासी एलिएल, एलनाम के पुत्र येरिबाई, और योसावियाह और मोआबी इथमाह.
47 Eliel, and Obed, and Jaasiel the Mezobaite.
एलिएल, ओबेद और मेत्सोबावासी यआसिएल.
