< Romans 9 >
1 I SPEAK the truth in Christ, I lie not, (my conscience also bearing witness to me in the Holy Ghost, )
Kai teh Khrih dawk laithout laipalah lawkkatang ka dei han. Kaie thoehawi panuenae teh Kathoung Muitha lahoi kai hoi cungtalah kampangkhai teh,
2 that great is my sorrow and unceasing the anguish in my heart.
Kai dawk puenghoi lungmathoenae hoi ka lungthung vah lungpuennae pou ka tawn.
3 For could I myself wish that an anathema should be from Christ upon my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh?
Bangkongtetpawiteh, takthai lahoi ka miphun lah kaawm e ka hmaunawnghanaw hanelah kama roeroe Khrih hoi kampek vaiteh thoebonae khang han totouh ngainae ka tawn.
4 who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the gift of the law, and the sacred service, and the promises;
Ahnimouh teh Isarel miphun lah ao teh cacoungnae, bawilennae, lawkkamnae, kâlawk poenae, bawknae teh ahnimouh hoi ka kâkuen e lah ao.
5 of whom are the fathers, and from whom as respecting the flesh Christ sprung, who is over all, the blessed God for evermore. Amen. (aiōn )

6 Now it is not supposable that the word of God hath failed. For these are not all Israel, who are of Israel:
Bangtelah nakunghai thoseh, Cathut lawkkam teh raphoe e lah awmhoeh. Bangkongtetpawiteh Isarel catoun lah kaawm e pueng Isarel miphun lah awm awh hoeh.
7 nor, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, in Isaac shall thy seed be called.
Abraham e catoun lah kaawm e pueng Abram e ca katang lah koung awmhoeh. Isak koehoi e catoun doeh nange catoun lah kaw han tie lah ao.
8 That is, not the children of the flesh, these are the children of God: but the children of the promise are accounted for the seed.
A deingainae teh takthai lahoi khe lah kaawm e taminaw teh Cathut e ca lah awmhoeh, lawkkam dawk hoi khe e tami dueng doeh a miphun lah a khoe.
9 For the word of promise is this, At that time will I come, and Sarah shall have a son.
Bangkongtetpawiteh lawkkam dawkvah het patet e tueng a pha navah, bout ka tho han. Sarah haiyah capa a khe han telah ati.
10 And not only so; but when Rebecca also had conception by one, even Isaac our father;
Hot dueng nahoeh, Rebekah hai maimae mintoe Isak hoi yuvâ lah ao teh camo a vawn navah,
11 (though the children were not yet born, nor had done any thing good or evil, that according to the election of God the purpose might abide, not from works, but from him who called; )
A ca khe hoehnahlan, a canaw ni a thoehawi banghai a panue awh hoehnahlan hoiyah, Cathut ni a rawinae lah kaawm e a pouk tangcoung e hah, thaw tawknae lahoi laipalah, a kawnae lahoi caksak nahanlah,

13 As it is written, “Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.”
Jakop teh ka lungpataw, Esaw teh ka hmuhma telah Cakathoung dawk thut e patetlah doeh ao.
14 What shall we say therefore? Is there unrighteousness with God? God forbid.
Telah boipawiteh maimouh ni bangtelamaw dei han toung. Cathut teh lanhoehnae lah maw ao toung. Khoeroe awmhoeh.
15 For he saith to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
Bangkongtetpawiteh Cathut ni Mosi koe, lungma han ka ngai e tami hah ka lungma teh, pahren han ka ngai e tami hah ka pahren han telah ati.
16 Well then, it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God who sheweth mercy.
Hatdawkvah het hateh, tami e ngainae hoi kâyawmnae dawk tho hoeh, lungpatawkung Cathut kâ lah doeh ao.
17 For the scripture saith to Pharaoh, “That for this very end have I raised thee up, that I might display in thee my power, and that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth.”

18 Well then, he hath mercy on whom he will, but whom he will he hardeneth.
Hatdawkvah, Cathut ni a pahren ngai e hah a pahren teh, a lungpata sak hanlah a ngai e hah a lungpata sak.
19 Wilt thou then say to me, Why yet doth he blame us? Who hath resisted his will?

20 Nay but, O man, who art thou that disputest against God? Shall the thing fashioned say to him that fashioned it, Why hast thou made me thus?

21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, from the same mass to make one vessel for an honourable use, and another for a dishonourable?
Hlaam kasakkung ni amhru dawk kâ tawn hoeh na maw. Hote amhru hah hlaam bari kaawm hoi bari kaawm hoeh e sak thainae kâ tawn hoeh na maw.
22 But what if God, willing to display his wrath, and to make known what is possible with him, hath borne with much long-suffering the vessels of wrath fitted for perdition:
Hatei, Cathut ni a lungkhueknae a kamnue sak hane hoi amae bahu panue sak hanelah, a ngainae ao nahlangva vah, raphoe hanlah ta e, lungkhueknae hlaamnaw hah, lungsaw poung lahoi panguep pawiteh, bangtelamaw.

28 for he will finish the account, and cut it short in righteousness: because a concise account will the Lord make on the earth.”

29 Even as Isaiah had said before, “Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left unto us a seed, we should have become as Sodom, and been made like unto Gomorrha.”
Hothloilah Isaiah ni, kalvan ransabawi yungyoe kahring e Cathut ni maimouh hanlah catoun pek hoehpawiteh, Sodom hoi Gomorrah khopui hoi doeh kâvan awh ti telah sut a dei e patetlah ao.
30 What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who pursued not after righteousness, have attained unto righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith.
Telah pawiteh, maimouh bangtelamaw dei awh han toung. Lannae ka pâlei hoeh e Jentelnaw ni lannae teh a coe awh toe. Hothateh, yuemnae lahoi coe e lannae lah ao.
31 But Israel, pursuing after the law of righteousness, hath not come up to the law of righteousness.
Lannae hoi kâkuen e phung coe hanelah ka pâlei e Isarel miphun naw teh hote phung hah phat thai awh hoeh.
32 And why? Because they sought it not by faith, but as by the works of the law. For they stumbled against that stone of stumbling;
Bangkongmaw a pha thai awh hoeh. Yuemnae hoi laipalah tawksaknae dawk hoi kâyawm e lah ao dawk doeh. Ahnimouh teh talung dawk kamthui teh a tâlaw awh toe.
33 as it is written, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence: and every one that believeth in him shall not be confounded.”
