< Philippians 2 >

1 IF there be then any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any communion of spirit, if any bowels and compassions,
ⲁ̅ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛ ϭⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲑⲱⲧ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲫⲏⲉⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲧϣⲁⲛ⳿ⲑⲙⲁϧⲧ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩϣⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ.
2 fulfil ye my joy, that ye may be united in sentiment, having the same love, of one soul, of one mind.
ⲃ̅ⲙⲁϩ ⲡⲁⲣⲁϣⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣ ⲟⲩⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲓⲁⲅⲁⲡⲏ ⲣⲱ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲙⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ.
3 Let nothing be done contentiously or vain-gloriously; but in humility reckoning others superior to yourselves.
ⲅ̅⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣ ⳿ϩⲗⲓ ⲁⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ϣϭⲛⲏⲛ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲁⲓⲱⲟⲩ ⲉϥϣⲟⲩⲓⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏ ⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲑⲉⲃⲓⲟ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲭⲱ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏ ⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲟⲧⲉⲃ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
4 Let not each aim at their own particular interests, but every man at those of others.
ⲇ̅⳿ⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϯ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲑⲏ ϥ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲁ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲡⲓⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ.
5 Let the same sentiment of mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
ⲉ̅ⲙⲁⲣⲉϥⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲫⲏ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧϧⲉⲛ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅.
6 who being in the form of God counted it no usurpation to claim equality with God:
ⲋ̅ⲫⲏⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲟⲣⲫⲏ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϩⲱⲗⲉⲙ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉⲧⲁϥⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲉⲑⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϩⲩⲥⲱⲥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲫϯ.
7 but emptied himself, assuming the form of a servant, made after the similitude of mortal men;
ⲍ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁϥϣⲟⲩⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁϥϭⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲟⲣⲫⲏ ⳿ⲙⲃⲱⲕ ⳿ⲉⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲉⲁⲩϫⲉⲙϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲭⲏⲙⲁ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲣⲱⲙⲓ.
8 and found in fashion as man, he humbled himself, becoming obedient to death, even to the death of the cross.
ⲏ̅ⲁϥⲑⲉⲃⲓⲟϥ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ ⳿ⲉⲁϥⲉⲣⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ϣⲁ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲙⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩ.̇
9 Wherefore God also hath transcendently exalted him, and bestowed on him a name which is above every name:
ⲑ̅ⲉⲑⲃⲉⲫⲁⲓ ⲁ ⲫϯ ⲉⲣϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ϭⲁⲥϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲉⲣ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲣⲁⲛ ⲫⲏⲉⲧϭⲟⲥⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲛ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ.
10 that to the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of beings celestial and terrestrial, and infernal;
ⲓ̅ϩⲓⲛⲁ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲫⲣⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛⲒⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲕⲉⲗⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲕⲱⲗϫ ⲛⲁ ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲁ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲁ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲥⲁⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ.
11 and every tongue should confess that the Lord Jesus is Messiah, to the glory of God the Father.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲗⲁⲥ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ⲉⲩⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲫϯ ⳿ⲫⲓⲱⲧ.
12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always been obedient, not only during my presence with you, but now much more in my absence, with fear and trembling work out your own salvation.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ϩⲱⲥⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲙⲉⲛⲣⲁϯ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲉⲧⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣ ⲣⲉϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⳿ⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁϫⲓⲛ⳿ⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ϯⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⳿ⲛϯ ϧⲁⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲟϯ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲑⲉⲣⲧⲉⲣ ⲁⲣⲓϩⲱⲃ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ.
13 For it is God who worketh effectually in you both to will and to perform of his good pleasure.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲫϯ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ ϯⲙⲁϯ.
14 Do all things without murmurings or disputes:
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲁⲣⲓϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲁⲧϭⲛⲉ ⳿ⲭⲣⲉⲙⲣⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲙⲟⲕⲙⲉⲕ.
15 that ye may be blameless and harmless, the children of God, inoffensive, in the midst of an untoward and perverse generation, among whom ye shine as luminaries in the world;
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲓ ⳿ⲛⲁⲧⲁⲣⲓⲕⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲁⲕⲉⲣⲉⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲫϯ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲁⲃ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲑⲙⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲅⲉⲛⲉ⳿ⲁ ⲉⲥⲕⲱⲗϫ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲥⲫⲱⲛϩ ⲛⲏⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϧⲏ ⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣⲟⲩⲱⲓⲛⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ.
16 holding up the word of life, that I may glory in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, nor laboured in vain.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲛⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲱⲛϧ ⲉⲩϣⲟⲩϣⲟⲩ ⲛⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲠⲭ̅ⲥ̅ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ϭⲟϫⲓ ⲁⲛ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩϣⲟⲩⲓⲧ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲁⲓϣⲉⲡϧⲓⲥⲓ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲧϣⲟⲩⲓⲧ.
17 Yea, and should I become the victim, in the sacrifice and service of your faith, I joy, and rejoice with you all.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲓⲥϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲉⲣ ⳿ⲡⲕⲉⲟⲩⲟⲧⲛⲉⲧ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲓϣⲟⲩϣⲱⲟⲩϣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲓⲫⲱϣⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲛⲁϩϯ ϯⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϯⲉⲣ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ.
18 In like manner do ye also joy and rejoice with me.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ϧⲉⲛ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲣⲁϣⲓ ϩⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲣⲓ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲛⲉⲙⲏⲓ.
19 But I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy shortly unto you, that I also may be refreshed in spirit, when I know your affairs.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ϯⲉⲣϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲡ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲓⲙⲟⲑⲉⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲭⲱⲗⲉⲙ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲁϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲙⲧⲟⲛ ⲁⲓϣⲁⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲓⲛⲓ.
20 For I have no one like minded with him, who will genuinely care for your affairs.
ⲕ̅⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⳿ϩⲗⲓ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲛⲧⲏⲓ ⲉϥϣⲏϣ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲁⲯⲩⲭⲏ ⲉϥⲛⲁϥⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛⲣⲱⲟⲩϣ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲧⲟⲩⲃⲟ.
21 For all seek their own interests, not those of Christ Jesus.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲕⲱϯ ⲅⲁⲣ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁ Ⲡⲭ̅ⲥ̅ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲁⲛ.
22 But ye have known the trial of him, that, as a son with a father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲧⲉϥⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲓⲱⲧ ⲁϥⲉⲣⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲉⲙⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ.
23 Him therefore I hope to send immediately as soon as I see clearly what will become of me.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲫⲁⲓ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛ ϯⲉⲣϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲥ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡϥ ⲁⲓϣⲁⲛ⳿ⲉⲙⲓ ⲥⲁⲧⲟⲧ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲛⲉⲧϣⲟⲡ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲓ.
24 But I have confidence in the Lord that I myself shall come shortly.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲁϩⲏⲧ ⲇⲉ ⲑⲏⲧ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲡ⳪ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϯⲛⲁ⳿ⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲭⲱⲗⲉⲙ.
25 But I have thought it necessary to send unto you Epaphroditus, my brother, and fellow-labourer, and fellow-soldier, but your messenger, and the minister who supplied my want.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲟⲩⲁⲛⲁⲅⲕⲉⲟⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲓⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲉⲡⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲟⲇⲓⲧⲟⲥ ⲡⲓⲥⲟⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲉⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲁ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲟⲓ ⲉϥⲟⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲛⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲛⲣⲉϥⲫⲱϣⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲧⲁ⳿ⲭⲣⲓⲁ.
26 For indeed he greatly longed after you all, and was very sorry that ye had heard that he had been sick.
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲡⲓⲇⲏ ⲛⲁϥⲙⲉⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥⲙⲟⲕϩ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ϫⲉ ⲁϥϣⲱⲛⲓ.
27 For sick indeed he was, nigh unto death: but God had mercy on him; and not on him only, but on me also, that I might not have sorrow upon sorrow.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲕⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁϥϣⲱⲛⲓ ϣⲁⲧⲉϥϧⲱⲛⲧ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲫⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲫϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩⲁⲧϥ ⲁⲛ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛⲏⲓ ϩⲱ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙϭ ⲓ ⳿ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲟⲛ.
28 I have sent him therefore the more diligently, that seeing him once more ye may rejoice, and I be less sorrowful.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲓⲏⲥ ⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲁⲓⲟⲩⲟⲣⲡϥ ϩⲓⲛⲁ ⲁⲣⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲁⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲁⲗⲓⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ϩⲱ ⳿ⲛⲧⲁϣⲱⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲉϣⲉⲛ ⳿ⲙⲕⲁϩ ⳿ⲛϩⲏⲧ.
29 Receive him therefore in the Lord with all joy, and honourably treat those that are such:
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ϣⲟⲡϥ ⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϧⲉⲛ Ⲡ⳪ ϧⲉⲛ ⲣⲁϣⲓ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲙⲁⲣⲟⲩϣⲱⲡⲓ ⲉⲩⲧⲁⲓⲧⲏⲟⲩⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉⲛ ⲑⲏⲛⲟⲩ.
30 for in the work of Christ he was nigh unto death indifferent about life, that he might afford me that service which it was not in your power to render me.
