Matthew 19
1 AND it came to pass when Jesus had finished these sayings, he departed from Galilee, and came into the coasts of Judea beyond Jordan.
І сталось, як скінчив Ісус цї слова, вийшов він з Галилеї, і прийшов у гряницї Юдейські, за Йорданом.
2 And great multitudes followed him; and he healed them there.
І йшло слїдом за Ним пребагато народу, й вигоїв їх там.
3 And the Pharisees came to him, tempting him, and saying, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause?
приступили до Него Фарисеї, спокушуючи Його, й кажучи Йому: Чи годить ся чоловікові розводитись із, жінкою своєю за всяку вину?
4 But he replying, said unto them, Have ye not read, that he who created them from the beginning, created them male and female?
Він же, озвавшись, рече їм: Хиба ви не читали, що хто втворив у починї, - чоловіком і жінкою втворив їх?
5 And he said, for this reason shall a man forsake father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
І рече: Тому чоловік покине батька й матїр та пригорнеть ся до жінки своєї, й будуть у двох тїло одно;
6 Wherefore they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath yoked together, let no man separate.
так що вже не двоє, а тїло одно. Оце ж, що Бог злучив, чоловік нехай не розлучуе.
7 They say unto him, Why then did Moses command to give her a bill of divorce, and to put her away?
Кажуть вони Йому: На що ж звелїв Мойсей давати розвідний лист і розводитись із нею?
8 He saith unto them, It was on account of the hardness of your hearts that Moses gave you permission to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not thus.
Рече їм: Мойсей задля жорстокости сердець ваших дозволив вам розводитись із жінками вашими; у починї ж не було так.
9 And I tell you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, except for whoredom, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and he that marrieth the divorced woman, committeth adultery.
Глаголю ж вам: Хто розведеть ся з жінкою своєю - хиба за перелюб - та оженить ся з иншою, робить перелюб; і хто з розвідкою оженить ся робить перелюб.
10 His disciples said unto him, If the case of a man with his wife be thus, it is not expedient to marry.
Кажуть Йому ученики Його: Коли така справа чоловіка з жінкою, то не добре женитись.
11 Then he said to them, All men are not capable of receiving this saying, but they to whom it is given.
Він же рече їм: Не всї зміщають слово се, а кому дано.
12 For there are eunuchs, who were so from their mothers’ womb; and there are eunuchs, who have been made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs, who have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven. He that is capable of receiving, let him receive it.
Єсть бо скопцї, що з утроби матерної родились так; і в скопцї, що скопились од людей; і в скопцї, що скопили себе задля царства небесного. Хто може змістити, нехай містить.
13 Then were brought to him little children, that he should lay his hands upon them, and pray for them: but the disciples rebuked them.
Тодї поприводили до Него дїток, щоб положив руки на них, та помолив ся; ученики ж заказували їм.
14 Then said Jesus, Permit little children, and hinder them not from coming to me; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Ісус же рече: Пустїть дїток, не з'упиняйте їх прийти до мене, бо таких царство небесне.
15 And when he had laid his hands upon them, he departed thence.
І, положивши руки на них, пійшов звідтіля.
16 And lo! a person coming to him, said, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, in order to attain eternal life? (aiōnios g166)
І ось один, приступивши, каже Йому: Учителю благий, що доброго робити менї, щоб мати життв вічне? (aiōnios g166)
17 Then he said to him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, even God: but if thou art desirous of entering into life, keep the commandments.
Він же рече до Него: Чого ти звеш мене благим? нїхто не благий, тільки один. Бог. Коли ж бажаєш увійти в життє, держи заповідї.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Then said Jesus, these, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Каже до Него: Которі? Ісус же рече: Оцї: Не вбивай, Не роби перелюбу, Не крадь. Не сьвідкуй криво;
19 Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Поважай батька твого й матїр, і: Люби ближнього твого, як себе самого.
20 The young man saith to him, All these things have I observed from my youth: in what am I still deficient?
Каже Йому молодець: Все се хоронив я з малку мого; чого ще не достає менї?
21 Jesus said to him, If thou art desirous to be perfect, go, sell all thy substance, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.
Рече до него Ісус: Коли хочеш бути звершений, іди продай, що маєш, і дай убогим, а мати меш скарб на небі; і приходь, та й іди слїдом за мною.
22 Now when the young man heard this speech, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Як же почув молодець се слово, одійшов засмутившись; бо мав достатки великі.
23 Then Jesus said to his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That very difficultly shall a rich man enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Ісус же рече до учеників своїх: Істино глаголю вам: Що тяжко багатому ввійти в царство небесне.
24 And again I repeat it to you, It is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Знов же глаголю вам: Легше верблюдові кріз ушко голки пройти, ніж багатому в царство Боже ввійти.
25 But when his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
Почувши ж ученики Його, дивувались вельми, кажучи: Хто ж зможе спасти ся?
26 And Jesus looking upon them, said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Ісус же, глянувши, рече їм: У людей се не можливе, у Бога ж все можливе.
27 Then Peter addressing him, said unto him, Lo! we have left all and followed thee; what, I pray thee, shall we receive?
Озвавсь тодї Петр і каже до Него: Ось ми покинули все, та й пїйшди сдїдом за Тобою; що ж буде нам?
28 Then said Jesus unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye who have followed me in the regeneration, when the Son of man shall sit on the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Ісус же рече до них: Істино глаголю вам: Що ви, пійшовши слїдом за мною, у новонастанню, як сяде Син чоловічий на престолї слави своєї, сядете також на дванайцяти престолах, судячи дванайцять родів Ізраїлевих.
29 And every one who hath left family, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name sake, shall receive an hundred fold, and shall inherit life eternal. (aiōnios g166)
І кожен, хто покинув доми, або братів, або сестер, або батька, або матїр, або жінку, або дїтей, або поля, задля імя мого, в сотеро прийме, й життє вічне осягне. (aiōnios g166)
30 But many, now first, will be the last; and last, who will be the first.
Тільки ж многі перві будуть останнї, а останні - перві.
