< Matthew 18 >
1 AT that time came the disciples to Jesus, saying, Who is indeed the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
Ɛbɛyɛ saa ɛberɛ korɔ no ara mu, Yesu asuafoɔ no baa ne nkyɛn bɛbisaa no sɛ, wɔn mu hwan na ɔbɛyɛ kɛseɛ Ɔsoro Ahennie no mu?
2 And Jesus calling a little boy, set him in the midst of them,
Yesu frɛɛ abɔfra ketewa bi de no bɛgyinaa wɔn mfimfini.
3 and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be changed and be as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Afei, ɔka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Merema mo ate aseɛ sɛ, gye sɛ motwe mo ho firi mo bɔne ho, na moyɛ sɛ mmɔfra nketewa, na mode mo ho ma Onyankopɔn ansa na mobɛtumi akɔ Ɔsoro Ahennie no mu.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself, as this little child, he shall be greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Enti, obiara a ɔbɛbrɛ ne ho ase sɛ abɔfra yi no, ɔno na ɔbɛyɛ ɔkɛseɛ koraa Ɔsoro Ahennie mu.
5 And whosoever shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me.
Na mo mu biara a, me enti ɔbɛgye abɔfra ketewa biara te sɛ yei no, wagye me nso aba ne nkyɛn.
6 And whosoever shall cause one of these little ones, who believe in me, to stumble, it were better for him that a millstone was hung at his neck, and that he was sunk in the depth of the sea.
“Enti, sɛ obi to mmɔfra nketewa a wɔgye me die yi bi suntidua a, ɛyɛ ma no sɛ anka wɔde ɛboɔ duruduru bɛsɛn ne kɔn mu ato no atwene ɛpo mu.
7 Wo to the world because of offences! for there is a necessity that offences come: nevertheless, wo to that man by whom the offence cometh!
Ewiase nnue wɔ ne suntiduatoɔ ho! Suntiduatoɔ wɔ hɔ deɛ, nanso deɛ ɛnam ne so bɛba no nnue.
8 If then thy hand, or thy foot, lead thee to offend, cut them off, and cast them from thee: for it were better for thee to enter into life, halting or maimed, than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the fire, which is eternal. (aiōnios )
Enti, sɛ wo nsa anaa wo nan ma woyɛ bɔne a, twa na to twene. Ɛyɛ ma wo sɛ wode dɛm bɛkɔ ɔsoro sene sɛ wɔde wo onipa mu bɛto ogyatannaa mu. (aiōnios )
9 And if thine eye lead thee to offend, pluck it out and cast it from thee, for it were better for thee to enter into life with one eye only, than having two eyes to be cast into hell-fire. (Geenna )
Na sɛ wʼani ma woyɛ bɔne a, tu na to twene. Ɛyɛ ma wo sɛ wode ani korɔ bɛkɔ ɔsoro sene sɛ wowɔ ani mmienu na wɔde wo bɛto amanehunu egya mu. (Geenna )
10 See that ye despise not one of these little ones, for I say unto you, That their angels in heaven continually behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.
“Monhwɛ yie na moammu saa mmɔfra nketewa yi mu baako koraa animtia. Mereka akyerɛ mo sɛ, ɔsoro hɔ no, wɔn abɔfoɔ wɔ mʼagya nkyɛn daa.
11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Na me, Agyenkwa no, mebaeɛ sɛ merebɛgye wɔn a wɔayera no nkwa.
12 What think you? If a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them stray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine in the mountains, and go and seek that which had strayed?
“Sɛ onipa bi wɔ nnwan ɔha, na wɔn mu baako kɔkyini na ɔyera a, ɛdeɛn na ɔbɛyɛ? Ɔrennya aduɔkron nkron no hɔ nkɔkyinkyini mmepɔ so ne abɔn mu nhwehwɛ deɛ wayera no?
13 And if he happen to find it, verily I say unto you, that he rejoiceth over it more than over the ninety and nine which never went astray.
Na sɛ ɛba sɛ ɔhunu saa odwan no a, nʼani gye ne ho sene aduɔkron nkron a wɔwɔ efie no.
14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones perish.
Saa ara nso na mʼagya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no mpɛ sɛ nketewa yi mu baako bɛyera.
15 Now if thy brother sin against thee, go and reprove him between thyself and him alone; if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
“Sɛ wo nua fom wo a, kɔ ne nkyɛn na wo ne no baanu no nka deɛ ɔyɛɛ wo a ɛnyɛ wo dɛ no. Sɛ ɔtie deɛ woka no, na ɔte ne ho ase a, onua ayɛ onua.
16 But if he will not hear thee, take with thee one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be confirmed.
Na sɛ wantie nso a, sane fa onipa baako anaa baanu ka wo ho kɔ ne nkyɛn, na deɛ ɛbɛsi biara no, nnipa baanu anaa baasa adi ho adanseɛ.
17 But if he disregard them, inform the church: and if he disregard the church, let him be to thee as a heathen, or a publican.
Sɛ wantie wo a, fa asɛm no kɔma asafo. Na sɛ wodi bem asafo no anim, na ɔnte ne ho ase ara a, asafo no mpam no mfiri wɔn mu.
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever things ye shall bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever things ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
“Mereka akyerɛ mo sɛ, biribiara a mokyekyere wɔ asase so no, wɔakyekyere wɔ ɔsoro, na biribiara a moasane wɔ asase so no, wɔasane wɔ ɔsoro.
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you are concurring upon earth, respecting any matter, which ye shall ask, it shall be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.
“Meresane aka akyerɛ mo bio sɛ, sɛ mo mu baanu biara a wɔte asase yi so hwehwɛ biribi na wɔde nokorɛ bisa mʼagya a ɔwɔ ɔsoro no a, ɔbɛyɛ ama wɔn.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Na deɛ baanu anaa baasa ahyia wɔ me din mu no, na mewɔ wɔn mfimfini.”
21 Then Peter coming to him, said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Petro baa Yesu nkyɛn bɛbisaa no sɛ, “Awurade, mpɛn ahe na sɛ me nua fom me a memfa nkyɛ no? Mpɛn nson anaa?”
22 Jesus saith to him, I tell thee not until seven times, but unto seventy times seven.
Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Dabi! Mpɛn aduɔson ahodoɔ nson!
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven like unto a certain king who purposed to settle his account with his servants.
“Ɔsoro Ahennie no te sɛ ɔhene bi a ɔpɛɛ sɛ ɔne nʼapaafoɔ bu nkonta.
24 And when he began to make up the account, there was brought to him one debtor, ten thousand talents in arrear:
Nkontabuo no mu no, wɔde ɔpaani bi a ɔde no ka sika ɔpepem edu brɛɛ no.
25 but not having wherewithal to pay, his lord ordered him to be sold, and his wife and his children, and all things whatsoever he possessed, and payment to be made.
Esiane sɛ na ɔnni sika a ɔde bɛtua ka no enti, ɔhene no hyɛɛ sɛ wɔntɔn ɔne ne yere ne ne mma ne biribiara a ɔwɔ, na wɔmfa mmɛtua ɛka no.
26 Then that servant falling prostrate, paid him the most profound homage, saying, Lord, have forbearance with me, and I will pay thee all.
“Ɔpaani yi de nʼanim butuu fam, srɛɛ ne wura yi sɛ, ‘Me wura, hunu me mmɔbɔ, na to wo bo ase ma me, na mɛba abɛtua ɛka a mede wo no nyinaa.’
27 Then his lord, moved with compassion towards that servant, discharged him, and forgave him the debt.
Ɔpaani yi asɛm a ɔkaeɛ no yɛɛ ɔhene no mmɔbɔ, ma ɔgyaa no de ne ka no nyinaa nso kyɛɛ no.
28 But that servant going out, found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing, throttled him, saying, Pay me what thou owest.
“Saa ɔpaani yi firi hɔ no, ɔkɔhunuu ne nwurakwaa no mu bi a ɔde no ka sika kakraa bi. Ɔtim no amene sɛ ɔntua no ɛka a ɔde no no wɔ ɛhɔ ara.
29 Then his fellow-servant fell at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have forbearance with me, and I will pay thee all.
“Na nʼawurakwaa no koto, paa no kyɛw sɛ ɔnto ne bo ase mma no, na ɔbɛtua ka no.
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay what he owed.
“Nanso ɔno deɛ, wampene. Ɔmaa wɔde no kɔtoo afiase sɛ gye sɛ watua no ka a ɔde no no nyinaa ansa na ɔbɛma wɔagyaa no.
31 Then his fellow-servants, when they saw what was done, were exceedingly sorry, and came to their lord, and gave him an explicit account of all things that had passed.
Ɔkafoɔ yi nnamfo kɔkaa asɛm a asi no nyinaa kyerɛɛ ɔhene no.
32 Then his lord, calling him before him, said to him, Thou vile slave! all that debt I forgave thee, because thou besoughtest me:
“Ɔhene no teeɛ no, ɔfrɛɛ saa ɔpaani a ɔde ne ho kyɛɛ no no baa nʼanim. Ɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, ‘Onipa bɔne ne otirimuɔdenfoɔ! Wosrɛɛ me no, mede ɛka kɛseɛ a wode me no nyinaa kyɛɛ wo;
33 and oughtest thou not to have had compassion on thy fellow-servant, even as I had pity on thee?
ɛnsɛ wo sɛ wo nso wohunu wo yɔnko mmɔbɔ sɛdeɛ mehunu wo mmɔbɔ no anaa?’
34 And his lord, incensed, delivered him up to the torturers, till he should pay all that he owed him.
Ɔhene no de abufuo maa wɔde ɔpaani yi kɔtoo afiase kaa sɛ, gye sɛ watua ɛka a ɔde no no nyinaa ansa na ɔbɛma wɔayi no.
35 Even so also will my heavenly Father do to you, except ye forgive every one of you his brother, from your hearts, their trespasses.
“Saa ara na sɛ moamfa mo nuanom mfomsoɔ ankyɛ wɔn a, me ɔsoro Agya nso remfa mo mfomsoɔ nkyɛ mo.”
