< Matthew 18 >
1 AT that time came the disciples to Jesus, saying, Who is indeed the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
Mu kiseera ekyo abayigirizwa ba Yesu ne bajja gy’ali nga bagamba nti, “Ani asinga obukulu mu bwakabaka obw’omu ggulu?”
2 And Jesus calling a little boy, set him in the midst of them,
Yesu n’ayita omwana omuto n’amussa mu makkati gaabwe.
3 and said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be changed and be as little children, ye shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven.
N’abagamba nti, “Ddala ddala mbagamba nti bwe mutakyuke kufaanana ng’abaana abato temugenda kuyingira mu bwakabaka obw’omu ggulu.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself, as this little child, he shall be greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
Noolwekyo buli eyeetoowaza ng’omwana ono omuto y’aliba asinga obukulu mu bwakabaka obw’omu ggulu.
5 And whosoever shall receive one such little child in my name, receiveth me.
“Na buli asembeza omwana omuto ng’ono mu linnya lyange ng’asembeza Nze.
6 And whosoever shall cause one of these little ones, who believe in me, to stumble, it were better for him that a millstone was hung at his neck, and that he was sunk in the depth of the sea.
Naye alyesittaza omu ku baana abato anzikiririzaamu, asaanidde okusibibwa olubengo mu bulago asuulibwe mu nnyanja.”
7 Wo to the world because of offences! for there is a necessity that offences come: nevertheless, wo to that man by whom the offence cometh!
“Ensi zigisanze! Kubanga ejjudde ebibi bingi. Okukemebwa okukola ebibi tekulema kubaawo, naye zimusanze oyo akuleeta.
8 If then thy hand, or thy foot, lead thee to offend, cut them off, and cast them from thee: for it were better for thee to enter into life, halting or maimed, than having two hands or two feet to be cast into the fire, which is eternal. (aiōnios )
Obanga omukono gwo gukuleetera okwonoona gutemeko ogusuule. Kisinga okuyingira mu bulamu ng’ogongobadde oba ng’olemadde, okusinga okugenda mu muliro ogutazikira ng’olina emikono ebiri n’ebigere bibiri. (aiōnios )
9 And if thine eye lead thee to offend, pluck it out and cast it from thee, for it were better for thee to enter into life with one eye only, than having two eyes to be cast into hell-fire. (Geenna )
Obanga eriiso lyo nga likuleetera okwonoona, liggyeemu olisuule. Kisinga okuyingira mu ggulu ng’olina eriiso limu okusinga okusuulibwa mu muliro gwa ggeyeena ng’olina amaaso go gombi.” (Geenna )
10 See that ye despise not one of these little ones, for I say unto you, That their angels in heaven continually behold the face of my Father who is in heaven.
“Mwekuume obutanyoomanga n’omu ku baana bano abato. Kubanga mbagamba nti bamalayika baabwe ennaku zonna babeera mu maaso ga Kitange ali mu ggulu.
11 For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.
Kubanga Omwana w’Omuntu yajja okulokola ekyabula.
12 What think you? If a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them stray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine in the mountains, and go and seek that which had strayed?
“Mulowooza kiki ekituufu? Omuntu bw’aba n’endiga ze ekikumi, emu n’emubulako, taleka ziri ekyenda mu omwenda ku lusozi n’agenda anoonya eri emu ebuze?
13 And if he happen to find it, verily I say unto you, that he rejoiceth over it more than over the ninety and nine which never went astray.
Ddala ddala mbagamba nti, bw’agiraba agisanyukira nnyo okusinga ziri ekyenda mu omwenda ezitaabuze.
14 Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven, that one of these little ones perish.
Kale bwe kityo ne Kitammwe ali mu ggulu tasiima kulaba ng’omu ku bato bano ng’azikirira.”
15 Now if thy brother sin against thee, go and reprove him between thyself and him alone; if he hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
“Muganda wo bw’akusobyanga ogendanga gy’ali n’omutegeeza ekisobyo kye nga muli babiri. Bw’akkirizanga n’akwetondera olwo ng’oggyeemu omuntu mu muganda wo.
16 But if he will not hear thee, take with thee one or two more, that by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be confirmed.
Naye bw’agaananga okukuwuliriza, ofunangayo omuntu omulala omu oba babiri obujulirwa bw’abantu ababiri oba abasatu bukakase buli kigambo.
17 But if he disregard them, inform the church: and if he disregard the church, let him be to thee as a heathen, or a publican.
Naye bw’agaananga okubawuliriza ng’ensonga ozitwala eri Ekkanisa. Singa agaana okuwuliriza Ekkanisa, abeere nga munnaggwanga, era omuwooza w’omusolo.
18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever things ye shall bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever things ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
“Ddala ddala mbagamba nti byonna bye mulisiba ku nsi, ne mu ggulu birisibwa ne bye mulisumulula ku nsi, ne mu ggulu bigenda kusumululwa.
19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you are concurring upon earth, respecting any matter, which ye shall ask, it shall be done for them by my Father who is in heaven.
“Era ddala ddala mbagamba nti bwe munaabanga babiri mu nsi ne mukkiriziganya ku ekyo kye mwagala okusaba, Kitange ali mu ggulu alikibakolera.
20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Kubanga abantu ababiri oba abasatu bwe banaakuŋŋaananga mu linnya lyange, nange nnaabeeranga awo wakati waabwe.”
21 Then Peter coming to him, said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
Awo Peetero n’ajja n’abuuza Yesu nti, “Mukama wange, muganda wange bw’ansobyanga musonyiwanga emirundi emeka? Emirundi musanvu?”
22 Jesus saith to him, I tell thee not until seven times, but unto seventy times seven.
Yesu n’amuddamu nti, “Sikugamba nti emirundi musanvu naye emirundi nsanvu emirundi musanvu.”
23 Therefore is the kingdom of heaven like unto a certain king who purposed to settle his account with his servants.
Awo Yesu n’agamba nti, “Obwakabaka obw’omu ggulu bufaananyizibwa nga kabaka eyayagala okubala ebitabo bye eby’ensimbi, n’abaddu be.
24 And when he began to make up the account, there was brought to him one debtor, ten thousand talents in arrear:
Bwe yatandika okubikebera ne bamuleetera gw’abanja ettalantaomutwalo gumu.
25 but not having wherewithal to pay, his lord ordered him to be sold, and his wife and his children, and all things whatsoever he possessed, and payment to be made.
Naye olw’okuba ng’omusajja teyalina nsimbi za kusasula bbanja eryo, mukama we kyeyava alagira batunde omusajja oyo ne mukazi we n’abaana be n’ebintu bye byonna ebbanja liggwe.
26 Then that servant falling prostrate, paid him the most profound homage, saying, Lord, have forbearance with me, and I will pay thee all.
“Naye omuddu oyo n’agwa wansi mu maaso ga mukama we, n’amwegayirira nti, ‘Ngumiikiriza, nzija kukusasula ebbanja lyonna.’
27 Then his lord, moved with compassion towards that servant, discharged him, and forgave him the debt.
“Mukama we n’asaasira omuddu oyo n’amusonyiwa ebbanja lyonna!
28 But that servant going out, found one of his fellow-servants, who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing, throttled him, saying, Pay me what thou owest.
“Omuddu oyo bwe yafuluma n’asanga munne gwe yali abanja eddinaalikikumi, n’amugwa mu bulago nga bw’amugamba nti, ‘Ssasula kye nkubanja.’
29 Then his fellow-servant fell at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have forbearance with me, and I will pay thee all.
“Naye munne n’agwa wansi, n’amwegayirira ng’agamba nti, ‘Ngumiikiriza, nnaakusasula.’
30 And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay what he owed.
“Naye amubanja n’agaana okumuwuliriza, n’amuteeka mu kkomera akuumirwe omwo okutuusa lw’alisasula ebbanja lyonna.
31 Then his fellow-servants, when they saw what was done, were exceedingly sorry, and came to their lord, and gave him an explicit account of all things that had passed.
Awo baddu banne bwe baakiraba ne banakuwala nnyo, ne bagenda bategeeza mukama we ebigambo bye balabye.
32 Then his lord, calling him before him, said to him, Thou vile slave! all that debt I forgave thee, because thou besoughtest me:
“Awo mukama we n’atumya omuddu gwe yali asonyiye n’amugamba nti, ‘Oli muddu mubi nnyo. Nakusonyiye ebbanja eryo lyonna, kubanga wanneegayiridde,
33 and oughtest thou not to have had compassion on thy fellow-servant, even as I had pity on thee?
naye ggwe kyali tekikugwanira kusaasira muddu munno nga nange bwe nakusaasidde?’
34 And his lord, incensed, delivered him up to the torturers, till he should pay all that he owed him.
Mukama we kyeyava asunguwala nnyo, n’amukwasa abaserikale bamusse mu kkomera okutuusa lw’alisasula ebbanja lyonna.
35 Even so also will my heavenly Father do to you, except ye forgive every one of you his brother, from your hearts, their trespasses.
“Kale ne Kitange ali mu ggulu bw’atyo bw’alibakola singa mmwe abooluganda temusonyiwa okuva mu mitima gyammwe.”
