Luke 22
1 AND the feast of unleavened bread, which is called the Passover, was at hand.
௧பஸ்கா என்னப்பட்ட புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பப்பண்டிகை நெருங்கிற்று.
2 And the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might destroy him; for they were afraid of the people.
௨அப்பொழுது பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் வேதபண்டிதர்களும் அவரைக் கொலைசெய்யும்படி யோசித்து, மக்களுக்குப் பயந்தபடியினால், எவ்விதமாக இதைச்செய்யலாமென்று வகைதேடினார்கள்.
3 Then entered Satan into Judas called Iscariot, though he was of the number of the twelve.
௩அப்பொழுது பன்னிரண்டுபேரில் ஒருவனாகிய ஸ்காரியோத்தென்னும் மறுபெயர்கொண்ட யூதாசுக்குள் சாத்தான் புகுந்தான்.
4 And he went and conversed with the chief priests and the captains, by what means he could betray him unto them.
௪அவன் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களிடத்திலும் படைத்தலைவர்களிடத்திலும்போய், அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கும் விதத்தைக்குறித்து அவர்களோடு ஆலோசனை செய்தான்.
5 And they were glad, and agreed with him to give him a sum of money.
௫அவர்கள் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு, அவனுக்குப் பணங்கொடுக்க உடன்பட்டார்கள்.
6 And he gave them his promise, and sought the favourable opportunity to betray him to them, in the absence of the multitude.
௬அதற்கு அவன் சம்மதித்து, மக்கள்கூட்டமில்லாத நேரத்தில் அவரை அவர்களுக்குக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கும்படி சமயந்தேடினான்.
7 Then came the day of unleavened bread, on which the passover must be killed.
௭பஸ்கா ஆட்டைப் பலியிடவேண்டிய புளிப்பில்லாத அப்பப்பண்டிகை நாள் வந்தது.
8 And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go, prepare for us the passover, that we may eat it.
௮அப்பொழுது அவர் பேதுருவையும் யோவானையும் அழைத்து: நாம் பஸ்காவைப் புசிப்பதற்கு நீங்கள் போய், அதை நமக்கு ஆயத்தம் செய்யுங்கள் என்றார்.
9 And they said unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare it?
௯அதற்கு அவர்கள்: நாங்கள் அதை எங்கே ஆயத்தம்செய்ய விருப்பமாக இருக்கிறீர் என்று கேட்டார்கள்.
10 And he said unto them, Lo! as you are at the entrance of the city, there will a man meet you, carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house whither he is going.
௧0அதற்கு அவர்: நீங்கள் நகரத்தில் நுழையும்போது, தண்ணீர்க்குடம் சுமந்துவருகிற ஒரு மனிதன் உங்களுக்கு எதிர்ப்படுவான்; நீங்கள் அவனுக்குப் பின்னேசென்று, அவன் போகும் வீட்டிற்குள் நீங்களும்போய்,
11 And say to the master of that family, The teacher saith to thee, Where is the dining-room, in which I can eat the passover with my disciples?
௧௧அந்த வீட்டெஜமானைப் பார்த்து: நான் என் சீடர்களோடு பஸ்காவைப் புசிக்கிறதற்குத் தகுதியான இடம் எங்கே என்று போதகர் உம்மிடத்தில் கேட்கச்சொன்னார் என்று சொல்லுங்கள்.
12 And he will shew you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
௧௨அவன் கம்பளம் முதலானவைகள் விரித்திருக்கிற மேல்வீட்டிலுள்ள ஒரு பெரிய அறையை உங்களுக்குக் காண்பிப்பான்; அங்கே ஆயத்தம் செய்யுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி அனுப்பினார்.
13 And they going away, found it just as he had told them: and they made ready the passover.
௧௩அவர்கள்போய், தங்களிடத்தில் அவர் சொன்னபடியே கண்டு, பஸ்காவை ஆயத்தம் செய்தார்கள்.
14 And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
௧௪நேரம் வந்தபோது, அவரும் அவருடனேகூடப் பன்னிரண்டு அப்போஸ்தலர்களும் பந்தியிருந்தார்கள்.
15 And he said unto them, With earnest desire have I longed to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
௧௫அப்பொழுது அவர் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் பாடுபடுகிறதற்கு முன்னே உங்களோடுகூட இந்த பஸ்காவைப் புசிக்க மிகவும் ஆசையாக இருந்தேன்.
16 for I tell you, that I will no more ever eat of it, until it shall be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
௧௬தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யத்திலே இது நிறைவேறும்வரைக்கும் நான் இனி இதைப் புசிப்பதில்லையென்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்று சொல்லி,
17 And taking the cup, after having given thanks, he said, Take this, and divide among yourselves:
௧௭அவர் பாத்திரத்தை எடுத்து, ஸ்தோத்திரம்செய்து: நீங்கள் இதை வாங்கி, உங்களுக்குள்ளே பங்கிட்டுக் கொள்ளுங்கள்;
18 for I say unto you, that I shall no more drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God come.
௧௮தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் வரும்வரைக்கும் நான் திராட்சைரசத்தைப் பருகுவதில்லையென்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
19 And taking a loaf, he gave thanks, and brake, and gave it to them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: do this in remembrance of me.
௧௯பின்பு அவர் அப்பத்தை எடுத்து, ஸ்தோத்திரம்செய்து, அதைப் பிட்டு, அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்து: இது உங்களுக்காகக் கொடுக்கப்படுகிற என்னுடைய சரீரமாக இருக்கிறது; என்னை நினைவுகூரும்படி இதைச்செய்யுங்கள் என்றார்.
20 And the cup in like manner, after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
௨0போஜனம்செய்தபின்பு அவர் அந்தப்படியே பாத்திரத்தையும் கொடுத்து: இந்தப் பாத்திரம் உங்களுக்காகச் சிந்தப்படுகிற என்னுடைய இரத்தத்தினாலாகிய புதிய ஒப்பந்தமாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்.
21 But lo! the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me at the table.
௨௧பின்பு: இதோ, என்னைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறவனுடைய கை என்னுடனேகூடப் பந்தியிலிருக்கிறது.
22 And the Son of man indeed goeth, as is decreed: but wo to that man by whom he is betrayed!
௨௨தீர்மானிக்கப்பட்டபடியே மனிதகுமாரன் போகிறார், ஆனாலும் அவரைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிற மனிதனுக்கு ஐயோ என்றார்.
23 And they began to question among themselves, who it could possibly be of them who should do this thing.
௨௩அப்பொழுது அவர்கள் நம்மில் யார் அப்படிச் செய்வான் என்று தங்களுக்குள்ளே விசாரிக்கத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
24 Now it came to pass, that there was also a contention among them, even which of them should be accounted to be the greatest.
௨௪அன்றியும் தங்களில் எவன் பெரியவனாக இருப்பான் என்று அவர்களுக்குள்ளே வாக்குவாதம் உண்டானது.
25 And he said to them, The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and they who exercise authority over them are called benefactors.
௨௫அவர் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: யூதரல்லாத இனத்தாரின் ராஜாக்கள் அவர்களை ஆளுகிறார்கள்; அவர்கள்மேல் அதிகாரம் செலுத்துகிறவர்களும் நற்பணியாளர்கள் என்று எண்ணப்படுகிறார்கள்.
26 But ye shall not act thus: but the superior among you, let him be as the junior; and he that presideth, as he that serveth.
௨௬உங்களுக்குள்ளே அப்படியிருக்கக்கூடாது; உங்களில் பெரியவன் சிறியவனைப்போலவும், தலைவன் சேவைசெய்கிறவனைப்போலவும் இருக்கவேண்டும்.
27 For which is the greater, he that sitteth at table, or he that waits? is not he that sitteth at table? but I am in the midst of you as he that serveth.
௨௭பந்தியில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறவனோ, சேவைசெய்கிறவனோ, எவன் பெரியவன்? பந்தியில் உட்கார்ந்திருக்கிறவன் அல்லவா? அப்படியிருந்தும், நான் உங்களுடைய நடுவிலே சேவைசெய்கிறவனைப்போல இருக்கிறேன்.
28 Ye are they who have continued with me during my trials.
௨௮மேலும் எனக்கு ஏற்பட்ட சோதனைகளில் என்னோடுகூட நிலைத்திருந்தவர்கள் நீங்களே.
29 And I appoint you, as my Father hath appointed me, a kingdom;
௨௯ஆகவே, என் பிதா எனக்கு ஒரு ராஜ்யத்தை ஏற்படுத்தினதுபோல, நானும் உங்களுக்கு ஏற்படுத்துகிறேன்.
30 that ye may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and be seated on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
௩0நீங்கள் என் ராஜ்யத்திலே என் பந்தியில் சாப்பிட்டுக் குடித்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் பன்னிரண்டு கோத்திரங்களையும் நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவர்களாகச் சிங்காசனங்களின்மேல் அமருவீர்கள் என்றார்.
31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, lo! Satan hath earnestly sought you, that he might sift you as wheat:
௩௧பின்னும் கர்த்தர்: சீமோனே, சீமோனே, இதோ, கோதுமையை முறத்தினால் புடைக்கிறதுபோலச் சாத்தான் உங்களைப் புடைக்கிறதற்கு அனுமதி கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்.
32 but I have prayed for thee, that thy faith may not fail: and when thou art returned, stablish thy brethren.
௩௨நானோ உன் நம்பிக்கை இழந்துபோகாதபடிக்கு உனக்காக வேண்டிக்கொண்டேன்; நீ குணப்பட்டபின்பு உன் சகோதரர்களைத் திடப்படுத்து என்றார்.
33 Then he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with thee, to prison, and to death!
௩௩அதற்கு அவன்: ஆண்டவரே, காவலிலும் சாவிலும் உம்மைப் பின்பற்றிவர, ஆயத்தமாக இருக்கிறேன் என்றான்.
34 And he said, I tell thee, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before thou shalt thrice deny having known me.
௩௪அவர் அவனைப் பார்த்து: பேதுருவே, இன்றைக்குச் சேவல் கூவுகிறதற்கு முன்னே நீ என்னை மூன்றுமுறை மறுதலிப்பாய் என்று உனக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றார்.
35 And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, or scrip, or sandals, lacked ye any thing? And they said, Nothing.
௩௫பின்னும் அவர் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நான் உங்களைப் பணப்பையும் சாமான் பையும் காலணிகளும் இல்லாமல் அனுப்பினபோது, ஏதாவது உங்களுக்குக் குறைவாக இருந்ததா என்றார். அவர்கள், ஒன்றும் குறைவாக இருந்ததில்லை என்றார்கள்.
36 Then said he to them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him also take a scrip: and he that hath none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
௩௬அதற்கு அவர்: இப்பொழுதோ பணப்பையும் சாமான் பையும் உடையவன் அவைகளை எடுத்துக்கொள்ளவேண்டும்; பட்டயம் இல்லாதவன் தன் ஆடையை விற்று ஒரு பட்டயத்தை வாங்கவேண்டும்.
37 For I tell you, that what hath already been written must be fulfilled in me, namely, “He was numbered with the transgressors:” for the things also concerning me draw to their period.
௩௭அக்கிரமக்காரர்களில் ஒருவனாக எண்ணப்பட்டார் என்று எழுதியிருக்கிற வாக்கியம் என்னிடத்தில் நிறைவேறவேண்டியதென்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன். என்னைப்பற்றிய காரியங்கள் நிறைவேறும் காலம் வந்திருக்கிறது என்றார்.
38 Then they said, Lord, behold, here are two swords, and he said to them, It is enough.
௩௮அதற்கு அவர்கள்: ஆண்டவரே, இதோ, இங்கே இரண்டு பட்டயம் இருக்கிறது என்றார்கள். அவர்: போதும் என்றார்.
39 And going out, he went, according to his custom, to the mount of Olives; and his disciples also followed him.
௩௯பின்பு அவர் புறப்பட்டு, வழக்கத்தின்படியே ஒலிவமலைக்குப் போனார், அவருடைய சீடர்களும் அவரோடுகூடப்போனார்கள்.
40 And when he came to the spot, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.
௪0அந்த இடத்தை அடைந்தபொழுது அவர் அவர்களைப் பார்த்து: நீங்கள் சோதனைக்குட்படாதபடிக்கு ஜெபம்செய்யுங்கள் என்று சொல்லி,
41 And he withdrew from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeling down, he prayed,
௪௧அவர்களைவிட்டுக் கல்லெறி தூரம் அப்புறம்போய், முழங்கால்படியிட்டு:
42 saying, Father, if thou wilt, remove this cup from me! nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done.
௪௨பிதாவே, உமக்கு விருப்பமானால் இந்தப் பாத்திரம் என்னைவிட்டு நீங்கும்படி செய்யும்; ஆனாலும் என்னுடைய விருப்பத்தின்படியல்ல, உம்முடைய விருப்பத்தின்படியே ஆகக்கடவது என்று ஜெபம்செய்தார்.
43 And an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.
௪௩அப்பொழுது வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு தூதன் தோன்றி, அவரை திடப்படுத்தினான்.
44 And being in an agony, he prayed with greater intenseness: and his sweat was as clots of blood falling on the ground.
௪௪அவர் மிகவும் வேதனைப்பட்டு, அதிக ஊக்கத்தோடு ஜெபம்செய்தார். அவருடைய வேர்வை இரத்தத்தின் பெருந்துளிகளாகத் தரையிலே விழுந்தது.
45 And when he rose up from prayer, on coming to his disciples, he found them sleeping from sorrow.
௪௫அவர் ஜெபம்செய்து முடித்து, எழுந்திருந்து, தம்முடைய சீடர்களிடத்தில் வந்து, அவர்கள் துக்கத்தினாலே தூங்குகிறதைக் கண்டு:
46 And he said unto them, Why sleep ye? rise up, and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.
௪௬நீங்கள் தூங்குகிறதென்ன? சோதனைக்குட்படாதபடிக்கு, எழுந்திருந்து ஜெபம்செய்யுங்கள் என்றார்.
47 And while he was yet speaking, behold a multitude, and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, went before them, and approached Jesus to kiss him.
௪௭அவர் அப்படிப் பேசும்போது மக்கள் கூட்டமாக வந்தார்கள். அவர்களுக்கு முன்னே பன்னிரண்டுபேரில் ஒருவனாகிய யூதாஸ் என்பவனும் வந்து, இயேசுவை முத்தம் செய்வதற்காக அவரிடத்தில் நெருங்கினான்.
48 Then said Jesus unto him, Judas, betrayest thou the Son of man with a kiss?
௪௮இயேசு அவனைப் பார்த்து: யூதாசே, முத்தத்தினாலேயா மனிதகுமாரனைக் காட்டிக்கொடுக்கிறாய் என்றார்.
49 Then when they who were about him saw what was ready to happen, they said unto him, Lord, shall we strike with the sword?
௪௯அவரைச் சுற்றி நின்றவர்கள் நடக்கப்போகிறதைக் கண்டு: ஆண்டவரே, பட்டயத்தினாலே வெட்டுவோமா என்றார்கள்.
50 And one of them struck at a servant of the high-priest, and cut off his right ear.
௫0அந்தப்படியே அவர்களில் ஒருவன் பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய வேலைக்காரனை வலது காது அறுந்து விழும்படி வெட்டினான்.
51 Then Jesus, addressing them, said, Permit me thus far: and touching his ear, he healed him.
௫௧அப்பொழுது இயேசு: போதும் நிறுத்துங்கள் என்று சொல்லி, அவனுடைய காதைத்தொட்டு, அவனை சுகப்படுத்தினார்.
52 Then said Jesus to the chief priests and captains of the temple, and to the elders who were come forth against him, Are ye come out as against a robber, with swords and staves?
௫௨பின்பு இயேசு தமக்கு விரோதமாக வந்த பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களையும் தேவாலயத்து படைத்தலைவர்களையும் மூப்பர்களையும் பார்த்து: ஒரு திருடனைப்பிடிக்கப் புறப்பட்டு வருகிறதுபோல, நீங்கள் பட்டயங்களையும் தடிகளையும் எடுத்துப் புறப்பட்டு வந்தீர்களே.
53 When I was daily with you in the temple, ye stretched out no hands upon me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
௫௩நான் தினந்தோறும் தேவாலயத்தில் உங்களோடுகூட இருக்கும்போது நீங்கள் என்னைப் பிடிக்கக் முற்படவில்லை; இதுதான் உங்களுடைய நேரமும் இருளின் அதிகாரமுமாக இருக்கிறது என்றார்.
54 Then seizing upon him, they led him away, and brought him into the palace of the high-priest. But Peter followed at a distance.
௫௪அவர்கள் அவரைப் பிடித்தபின்பு, பிரதான ஆசாரியனுடைய வீட்டில் கொண்டுபோய்விட்டார்கள். பேதுருவும் தூரத்திலே பின்னேசென்றான்.
55 And as they had lighted a fire in the middle of the hall, and had seated themselves in a company, Peter sat down in the midst of them.
௫௫அவர்கள் முற்றத்தின் நடுவிலே நெருப்பை மூட்டி, அதைச் சுற்றி உட்கார்ந்தபோது, பேதுருவும் அவர்கள் நடுவிலே உட்கார்ந்தான்.
56 But a certain maid-servant who sat at the fire, eyeing him, and looking at him stedfastly, said, This man was also with him.
௫௬அப்பொழுது ஒரு வேலைக்காரி அவன் நெருப்பின் அருகிலே உட்கார்ந்திருக்கக்கண்டு, அவனை உற்றுப்பார்த்து: இவனும் அவனோடு இருந்தான் என்றாள்.
57 But he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
௫௭அதற்கு அவன்: பெண்ணே, அவனை எனக்குத் தெரியாது என்று மறுதலித்தான்.
58 And after a little while another seeing him, said, Surely thou art one of them. Then said Peter, Man, I am not.
௫௮சிறிதுநேரத்திற்குப்பின்பு வேறொருவன் அவனைப் பார்த்து: நீயும் அவர்களில் ஒருவன் என்றான். அதற்குப் பேதுரு: மனிதனே, நான் இல்லை என்றான்.
59 And at about an hour’s distance, another person strongly asserted, saying, Of a certainty this fellow was also with him: for he too is a Galilean.
௫௯ஏறக்குறைய ஒருமணி நேரத்திற்குப்பின்பு வேறொருவன் அவனைப் பார்த்து: உண்மையாகவே இவனும் அவனோடு இருந்தான், இவன் கலிலேயன்தான் என்று சாதித்தான்.
60 And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And instantly, while he was yet speaking, the cock crew.
௬0அதற்குப் பேதுரு: மனிதனே, நீ சொல்லுகிறதை அறியேன் என்றான். அவன் இப்படிச் சொன்னவுடனே சேவல் கூவியது.
61 And the Lord, turning round, looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, That before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice.
௬௧அப்பொழுது கர்த்தர் திரும்பி, பேதுருவை நோக்கிப்பார்த்தார். சேவல் கூவுகிறதற்கு முன்னே நீ என்னை மூன்றுமுறை மறுதலிப்பாய் என்று கர்த்தர் தன்னிடத்தில் சொன்ன வார்த்தையை உடனே பேதுரு நினைத்து,
62 And Peter going without, wept bitterly.
௬௨வெளியேபோய், மனங்கசந்து அழுதான்.
63 And the men who held Jesus insulted him, beating him with rods;
௬௩இயேசுவைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்ட மனிதர்கள் அவரைக் கேலிசெய்து, அடித்து,
64 and blindfolding him, smote him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is he that struck thee?
௬௪அவருடைய கண்களைக் கட்டி, அவருடைய முகத்தில் அறைந்து: உன்னை அடித்தவன் யார், அதை தீர்க்கதரிசனத்தினால் சொல் என்று அவரைக் கேட்டதுமன்றி,
65 And many other things, blaspheming, spake they against him.
௬௫மற்றும் அநேக அவதூறான வார்த்தைகளையும் அவருக்கு எதிராகப் பேசினார்கள்.
66 And when the day broke, the elders of the people and the chief priests and scribes assembled, and brought him into their sanhedrim, saying,
௬௬விடியற்காலமானபோது மக்களின் மூப்பர்களும் பிரதான ஆசாரியர்களும் வேதபண்டிதர்களும் கூடிவந்து, தங்களுடைய ஆலோசனைச் சங்கத்தில் அவரைக் கொண்டுவந்து நிறுத்தி:
67 If thou art the Messiah, tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, ye will not believe:
௬௭நீ கிறிஸ்துவா? அதை எங்களுக்குச் சொல் என்றார்கள். அதற்கு அவர்: நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொன்னாலும் நம்பமாட்டீர்கள்.
68 and if I shall ask you any question, ye will neither answer me, nor let me go free.
௬௮நான் உங்களிடம் கேள்வி கேட்டாலும் எனக்கு பதில் சொல்லமாட்டீர்கள், என்னை விடுதலையும் செய்யமாட்டீர்கள்.
69 Hereafter shall the Son of man sit at the right hand of the power of God.
௬௯இதுமுதல் மனிதகுமாரன் சர்வவல்லமையுள்ள தேவனுடைய வலதுபக்கத்தில் வீற்றிருப்பார் என்றார்.
70 Then said they all, Art thou then the Son of God? And he said unto them, Yourselves say that I am.
௭0அதற்கு அவர்களெல்லோரும்: அப்படியானால், நீ தேவனுடைய குமாரனா என்று கேட்டார்கள். அதற்கு அவர்: நீங்கள் சொல்லுகிறபடியே நான் அவர்தான் என்றார்.
71 Then they said, What further need have we of witness? for we have heard it from his own mouth.
௭௧அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: இனி வேறு சாட்சி நமக்கு வேண்டுவதென்ன? நாமே இவனுடைய வாயினாலே கேட்டோமே என்றார்கள்.
