< Luke 18 >

1 THEN he spake also to them a parable, to shew that we ought to pray always, and not faint;
Ɛda bi Yesu nam abɛbuo so kyerɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no hia a ɛhia sɛ wɔbɔ mpaeɛ daa a wɔmpa aba.
2 saying, There was a certain judge in a particular city, having no fear of God, nor respect for man:
Yesu kaa sɛ, “Ɔtemmufoɔ bi tenaa kuro bi mu a na ɔnsuro Onyankopɔn, mfɛre onipa biara.
3 and there was a certain widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, Do me justice against my adversary.
Na ɔbaa kunafoɔ bi te saa kuro yi mu, a ɔne obi wɔ asɛm. Daa na saa okunafoɔ yi kɔ ɔtemmufoɔ no nkyɛn kɔsrɛ no sɛ ɔnni nʼasɛm no mma no.
4 And he would not for a long while: but after this he said, Though I fear not God, nor respect man;
“Mfitiaseɛ no, ɔtemmufoɔ no ammua no. Nanso, akyire no ɔkaa sɛ, ‘Ɛwom sɛ mensuro Onyankopɔn, mfɛre onipa biara deɛ,
5 yet because this woman is so troublesome to me, I will do her justice, lest by her perpetual coming she stun me with her importunity,
nanso ɛsiane sɛ daa ɔbaa yi ha me enti, mɛhwɛ adi asɛm no yie ama no sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a, ɔremmɛha me bio!’”
6 Then said the Lord, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
Awurade toaa so sɛ, “Moate asɛm a ɔtemmufoɔ yi a ɔntene no kaeɛ.
7 And shall not God execute vengeance for his own elect, who cry out to him day and night, though he bear long with them?
Monnnye nni sɛ Onyankopɔn bɛdi ama ne mma a daa wɔsu frɛ no awia ne anadwo no no anaa ɔbɛtwentwɛn ne nan ase?
8 Yes, I tell you, that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, ah! shall he find faith on the earth?
Merema moate aseɛ sɛ, ɔbɛyɛ wɔn apɛdeɛ ama wɔn ntɛm. Sɛ Onipa Ba no sane ba a, nnipa dodoɔ ahe na ɔbɛhunu sɛ wɔwɔ ne mu gyidie?”
9 Then he spake also this parable to certain persons, who had confidence in themselves, that they were righteous, and despised others:
Yesu sane buu ɛbɛ bi faa nnipa a wɔbu wɔn ho sɛ ateneneefoɔ na ɛno enti wɔbu afoforɔ animtia no ho sɛ,
10 Two men went up to the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, the other a tax-farmer.
“Ɛda bi nnipa baanu bi kɔɔ asɔredan mu kɔbɔɔ mpaeɛ. Na wɔn mu baako yɛ Farisini a ɔbu ne ho, na ɔbaako no nso yɛ ɔtogyeni.
11 The Pharisee, standing by himself, made this prayer: God, I thank thee, that I am not as the rest of mankind, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or as this tax-gatherer.
Farisini yi kɔgyinaa baabi a obiara bɛhunu no bɔɔ mpaeɛ sɛ, ‘Onyankopɔn, meda wo ase sɛ mente sɛ nnipa a aka no te sɛ apoobɔfoɔ nkontompofoɔ, adwamanfoɔ ne saa ɔtogyeni a ɔgyina hɔ yi.
12 I keep a fast twice a week, I pay the tenth of all things I possess.
Nnawɔtwe biara mu, medi mmuada mprenu na deɛ menya biara nso, meyi mu nkyɛmu edu mu baako de ma.’
13 And the tax-gatherer standing at a distance, would not even so much as lift his eyes heaven-ward, but smote on his breast, saying, May God accept the atonement for me a sinner!
“Saa ɛberɛ no na ɔtogyeni no gyina akyiri baabi a ɔmpɛ sɛ ɔma nʼani so kyerɛ ɔsoro. Ɔde ne nsa guu ne bo bɔɔ mpaeɛ sɛ, ‘Onyankopɔn, hunu me ɔdebɔneyɛfoɔ mmɔbɔ!’
14 I say to you, Went this man down to his house justified, or the other? for every one who exalteth himself shall be humbled; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
“Mereka akyerɛ mo sɛ, deɛ ɔtogyeni no yɛeɛ no sɔɔ Onyankopɔn ani sene deɛ Farisini no yɛeɛ no. Obiara a ɔma ne ho so no, wɔbɛbrɛ no ase, na deɛ ɔbrɛ ne ho ase no, wɔbɛma no so.”
15 Then they brought him infants also, that he should touch them: but the disciples, when they saw it, rebuked them.
Ɛda bi, awofoɔ bi de wɔn mma nketewa brɛɛ Yesu sɛ ɔmfa ne nsa nka wɔn, nhyira wɔn. Asuafoɔ no hunuu awofoɔ no, wɔkaa wɔn anim.
16 But Jesus calling them to him, said, Permit little children to come to me, and hinder them not for of such is the kingdom of God.
Yesu frɛɛ mmɔfra no awofoɔ no baa ne nkyɛn na ɔka kyerɛɛ nʼasuafoɔ no sɛ, “Momma mmɔfra nketewa no mmra me nkyɛn na monnsi wɔn ɛkwan, na yeinom sei na Onyankopɔn Ahennie no yɛ wɔn dea.
17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
Mereka akyerɛ mo sɛ, obiara a ɔrennye Onyankopɔn Ahennie no sɛ abɔfra no, ɔrentumi nhyɛne mu.”
18 And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, by doing what shall I inherit eternal life?
19 Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good, but one, even God.
Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Adɛn enti na wofrɛ me onipa pa? Obiara nyɛ papa, gye ɔbaako; ɔne Onyankopɔn.
20 Thou knowest the commandments, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.
Wonim Mose mmara no: ‘Mmɔ adwaman! Nni awu! Mmɔ korɔno! Nni adansekurumu! Di wʼagya ne wo maame ni!’”
21 Then he said, All these things have I observed from my youth.
Osikani yi ka kyerɛɛ Yesu sɛ, “Madi saa mmara yi nyinaa so firi me mmɔfraase.”
22 Then Jesus hearing this, said to him, Yet one thing thou lackest: sell all whatsoever thou hast, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
Yesu tee deɛ osikani no kaeɛ no, ɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Adeɛ baako pɛ na aka wo a ɛsɛ sɛ woyɛ. Kɔ na kɔtɔn wʼahodeɛ nyinaa na kyɛ sika no ma ahiafoɔ na wobɛnya agyapadeɛ wɔ Onyankopɔn Ahennie no mu, na afei, bra bɛdi mʼakyi.”
23 But he, on hearing these things, was exceeding sorrowful: for he was very rich.
Osikani yi tee saa asɛm yi no, anyɛ no dɛ koraa ɛfiri sɛ, na ɔwɔ ahodeɛ pii.
24 Then Jesus, observing that he was very sorrowful, said, How difficultly shall they who have riches, enter into the kingdom of God!
Yesu hunuu sɛ ne werɛ ahoɔ no, ɔkaa sɛ, “Ɛyɛ den ma ahonyafoɔ sɛ wɔbɛkɔ Onyankopɔn Ahennie no mu!
25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
Mereka akyerɛ mo sɛ, ɛyɛ mmerɛ sɛ yoma bɛwura paneɛ aniwa mu sene sɛ ɔhonyafoɔ bɛkɔ Onyankopɔn Ahennie no mu.”
26 And those who heard it said, Who then can be saved?
Na wɔn a wɔtee deɛ Yesu kaeɛ no bisaa sɛ, “Ɛnneɛ na hwan na wɔbɛgye no nkwa?”
27 And he said, The things impossible with men, are possible with God.
Yesu buaa sɛ, “Biribiara nni hɔ a Onyankopɔn ntumi nyɛ.”
28 Then said Peter, Lo, we have left all, and followed thee.
Petro ka kyerɛɛ Yesu sɛ, “Yɛagya deɛ yɛwɔ nyinaa hɔ abɛdi wʼakyi.”
29 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, that there is no man who hath left family, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God,
Yesu buaa Petro sɛ, “Merema mo ate aseɛ sɛ, obiara nni hɔ a, ɛsiane Onyankopɔn Ahennie no enti, wagya ne fie anaa ne nuanom anaa nʼawofoɔ anaa ne mma
30 who shall not receive back manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.
31 Then taking aside the twelve, he said to them, Lo, we are going up to Jerusalem, and all things written by the prophets concerning the Son of man will be fulfilled.
Yesu frɛɛ asuafoɔ dumienu no gyinaa nkyɛn baabi ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, “Yɛrekɔ Yerusalem, na biribiara a nkɔmhyɛfoɔ no aka afa Onipa Ba no ho no bɛba mu.
32 For he shall be delivered up to the Gentiles, and they shall insult him, and treat him with indignity, and spit upon him:
Wɔbɛyi no ama amanamanmufoɔ ama wɔadi ne ho fɛw, na wɔabɔ no adapaa, ate ntasuo agu ne so,
33 and after scourging, shall slay him: and the third day he shall rise again.
aka no mpire, akum no na ne nnansa so no, wasɔre.”
34 And they understood none of these things: and the saying was concealed from them, and they knew not the things which were spoken.
Asuafoɔ no ante deɛ Yesu kaaeɛ no biara ase, ɛfiri sɛ, na asɛm no boro wɔn adwene so.
35 And it came to pass, as he drew nigh to Jerusalem, a certain blind man sat by the road-side begging:
Yesu ne nʼasuafoɔ no rebɛn Yeriko no, wɔhunuu onifirani bi a ɔte kwankyɛn resrɛsrɛ adeɛ.
36 and hearing the multitude passing by, he inquired what was the cause.
Onifirani no tee sɛ nkurɔfokuo bi retwam no, ɔbisaa asɛm a asi.
37 And they told him, that Jesus the Nazarean is going by.
Wɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Yesu Nasareni no na ɔretwam!”
38 And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me!
Ɔtee saa no, ɔteateam sɛ, “Yesu, Dawid Ba, hunu me mmɔbɔ!”
39 And they who were going before rebuked him, that he should hold his peace: but he cried so much the more, Son of David, have mercy on me!
Wɔn a wɔdi anim no trantram no sɛ ɔmmua nʼano, nanso wantie, na ɔkɔɔ so teateaam dendeenden sɛ, “Yesu Dawid Ba, hunu me mmɔbɔ!”
40 Then Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be brought to him: and when he was come near, he asked him,
Yesu duruu baabi a onifirani no te no, ɔmaa wɔde no brɛɛ no. Wɔde no duruu Yesu nkyɛn no, ɔbisaa no sɛ,
41 saying, What wist thou that I should do for thee? Then he said, Lord, that I may receive my sight.
“Ɛdeɛn na wopɛ sɛ meyɛ ma wo?” Onifirani no buaa sɛ, “Awurade, ma menhunu adeɛ.”
42 And Jesus said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee.
Yesu ka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Hunu adeɛ, wo gyidie ama wo ho ayɛ wo den.”
43 And instantly he received sight, and followed him, glorifying God: and all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
Amonom hɔ ara, onifirani yi hunuu adeɛ, na ɔdii Yesu akyi, yii Onyankopɔn ayɛ. Na wɔn a wɔhunuu ayaresa no nyinaa nso yii Onyankopɔn ayɛ.
