< John 5 >
1 AFTER these things there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is at Jerusalem near the sheep-market a pool, called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porticos.
Oasr lulu in kof se oan apkuran nu ke Mutunpot lun Sheep in Jerusalem, ac oasr sawalsrisr limekosr kac. Inen lulu sac pa Bethesda in kas Hebrew.
3 In these lay a vast multitude of infirm persons, blind, lame, withered, waiting the motion of the water.
Mwet mas puspis oan fin sawalsrisr inge — mwet kun, mwet maskin nia, ac mwet ul. [Elos soano kof uh in noanoayak,
4 For occasionally an angel descended into the pool, and put the water into commotion: he therefore who first stepped in after the commotion of the water became well, under whatever complaint he had laboured.
mweyen kutu pacl uh, sie lipufan lun Leum ac oatui nu in lulu sac ac oru kof uh in noanoayak. Mwet mas se ma ac sroang oemeet nu in lulu uh tukun kof uh noanoayak uh ac kwela liki mas lal uh.]
5 And there was a certain man there, who had a complaint of thirty years standing.
Oasr sie mukul muta we su mas yac tolngoul oalkosr.
6 Jesus seeing him laid there, and knowing that he had been so for a long while, saith to him, Wilt thou be made sound?
Jesus el liye lah el oan we, ac el etu lah mukul sac mas ke pacl na loeloes; ouinge el siyuk sel, “Ya kom lungse kwela?”
7 The infirm man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is disturbed, to cast me into the pool: but when I am coming, another goeth down before me.
Mwet mas sac topuk nu sel, “Leum, wangin mwet luk in filiyuwi in lulu uh ke pacl se kof uh noanoayak uh. Pacl nukewa nga ac srike in sroang nu in kof uh, oasr na mwet ac sroang meet likiyu.”
8 Jesus saith to him, Arise, take up thy bed, and walk.
Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Tukakek, srukak mwe oan kiom, ac fahsr.”
9 And instantly the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked away: and that day was the sabbath.
Na mukul sac kwela in pacl sacna. El srukak mwe oan kial ac mutawauk in fahsr. Len sac len Sabbath.
10 The Jews therefore said to him that was cured, It is the sabbath: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.
Lain Ma Sap lasr kom in lippise mwe oan kiom ac fahsr.”
11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same person said to me, Take up thy bed, and walk.
El topuk, “Mwet se ma akkeyeyula pa sap nga in srukak mwe oan kiuk ac fahsr.”
12 Then they asked him, Who is the man that said to thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?
Elos siyuk sel, “Su mwet se sap kom in oru angan uh?”
13 Now he that was cured knew not who he was: for Jesus had slipped away, a crowd being on the spot.
Tuh mukul se ma kwela ah tiana etu lah su Jesus, mweyen arulana pukanten mwet in acn sac, ac Jesus el illa na som.
14 After these things Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Take care; thou art made whole: sin no more, lest something worse befall thee.
Tok, Jesus el sonol in Tempul ac fahk nu sel, “Liye, kom kwela inge. Ke ma inge nimet sifil oru ma koluk, mweyen kom fin sifil oru, ac oasr ma na koluk liki ku in sikyak nu sum.”
15 The man went, and informed the Jews, that it was Jesus who had made him whole.
16 And therefore did the Jews persecute Jesus, and sought to kill him, because he had done these things on the sabbath-day.
Ke ma inge elos mutawauk in aklokoalokye Jesus, ke sripen el akkeyala mwet se ke len Sabbath.
17 Then Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work.
Jesus el fahk nu selos, “Papa tumuk El orekma pacl nukewa, pwanang nga enenu in orekma pac.”
18 Therefore sought they the more to kill him, because he had not only broken the sabbath, but called God his own Father, setting himself on an equality with God.
Fahk se inge oru mwet fulat lun mwet Jew arulana suk in unilya.
19 Jesus therefore answered and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing by himself, except what he hath seen the Father do: for whatsoever things he doeth, the same and in the same manner doth the Son.
Ke ma inge Jesus el topkolos ac fahk, “Nga fahk na pwaye nu suwos: Wen el tia ku in oru kutena ma ke ku lal sifacna. El oru na ma el liye Papa tumal El oru. Ma Papa El oru, Wen el oru pac.
20 For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things which he himself doeth: and greater works than these will he shew him, that ye may wonder.
Tuh Papa El lungse Wen, ac akkalemye nu sel ma nukewa ma El sifacna oru. El fah fahkak nu sel orekma yohk liki inge tuh elan oru, ac kowos nukewa fah fwefela kac.
21 For as the Father raiseth the dead, and quickeneth them; so also doth the Son quicken whom he pleases.
22 For the Father never judgeth any man, but hath committed all judgment to the Son:
Papa sifacna El tia nununku kutena mwet. El sang nu sin Wen natul ku nukewa in nununku,
23 in order that all may honour the Son, just as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son, doth not honour the Father who sent him.
ouinge mwet nukewa fah akfulatye Wen in oana ke elos akfulatye Papa. Kutena mwet su tia sunakin Wen elos tia pac sunakin Papa su supwalma.
24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, That he that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment; but is passed from death into life. (aiōnios )
“Nga fahk na pwaye nu suwos: kutena mwet su lohng kas luk ac lulalfongi in El su supweyume, el ilyak tari nu ke moul kawil. El fah tia nununkeyuk, a el illa liki misa nu ke moul. (aiōnios )
25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, yea, it is now, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.
Nga fahk na pwaye nu suwos: pacl se ac fah tuu — kaok tuku tari — ke mwet misa fah lohng pusren Wen nutin God, ac elos su porongo fah moulyak.
26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son also to have life in himself;
Oasr ku lun Papa in sang moul, ac El sang ku sac pacna nu sin Wen natul.
27 and hath given him authority also to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in which all who are in the graves shall hear his voice,
29 and they shall come forth; they who have done good actions to the resurrection of life; and they who have been guilty of foul practices, to the resurrection of damnation.
ac ilme liki kulyuk lalos. Elos su oru ma wo fah moulyak nu ke moul, a elos su oru ma koluk fah moulyak nu ke nununku ac lisyukla.
30 I am not able to perform any thing by myself: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; for I seek not my own will, but the will of my Father who sent me.
“Wangin ma nga ku in oru ke ku luk sifacna. Nga oru nununku luk fal nu ke ma God El fahk nu sik, ke ma inge nununku luk suwohs, mweyen nga srike in oru ma lungse lun El su supweyume, ac tia ma lungse luk sifacna.
31 If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
“Nga fin orek loh keik sifacna, mwet uh tia ku in etu lah pwaye.
32 There is another who beareth witness of me, and I know that his witness is true which he witnesseth concerning me.
Tusruktu oasr pac mwet se saya su orek loh keik, ac nga etu lah ma el fahk keik uh ma pwaye.
33 Ye sent to John, and he bore testimony to the truth.
Kowos tuh supwala mwet utuk kas lowos nu yorol John, ac el fahkak kas na pwaye keik.
34 But I receive not testimony from man: but I speak these things, that ye may believe.
Nga tia enenu sie mwet in orek loh keik. Nga fahk na ma inge tuh kowos in moulla.
35 He was a lamp glowing and luminous: and ye were pleased for a time to exult in his light.
John el oana sie lam ma firirrir ac kalem, ac kowos tuh engankin kalem sac ke kitin pacl.
36 But I have a testimony greater than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me that I should fulfil them, these very works which I am doing, they bear witness of me, that the Father hath sent me.
Tusruktu oasr ma loh keik su yohk liki ma loh lal John: pa orekma ma nga oru, su Papa tumuk El ase nu sik in oru. Ma inge pa kaskas keik, ac fahkak pac lah Papa pa supweyume.
37 And the Father who sent me, himself hath borne witness concerning me. Ye have neither at any time heard his voice, nor seen his form.
Oayapa Papa, su supweyume, El orek loh keik. Kowos soenna lohng pusracl ku liye mutal,
38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
ac kowos tia pacna sang kas lal uh in oan in kowos, mweyen kowos tiana lulalfongi kacl su El supwama.
39 Search the scriptures; for ye suppose in them ye have eternal life: and these are they which testify of me. (aiōnios )
Kowos lutlut ke Ma Simusla mweyen kowos nunku mu kowos ku in konauk moul ma pahtpat kac. Ac Ma Simusla inge fahkak pac keik! (aiōnios )
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Ne ouinge, a kowos tia lungse tuku nu yuruk tuh kowos in eis moul.
41 I receive not glory from men.
“Nga tia suk kaksak sin mwet.
42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
A nga etekowos, ac nga etu lah wangin lungse lowos nu sin God.
43 I have come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Nga tuku ke ku fulat lun Papa tumuk, a kowos tia eisyu. A siena mwet fin tuku ke ku lal sifacna, kowos ac eisal.
44 How can ye believe, who receiving honour one from another, seek not the honour which cometh from God alone?
45 Do not suppose that I shall accuse you to my Father: there is one who is accusing you, even Moses, on whom ye place your hope.
46 For if ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for of me did he write.
47 But if ye believe not his writings, how will ye believe my words?
A ke kowos tia lulalfongi ma el simusla uh, kowos ac lulalfongi fuka ma nga fahk uh?”
