< John 3 >
1 NOW there was a man of the Pharisees, whose name was Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:
Anadwo bi, ɔbarima bi a ɔyɛ Yudafoɔ mpanin no mu baako a wɔfrɛ no Nikodemo a ɔsane yɛ Farisini no,
2 this man came to Jesus in the night, and said to him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles which thou dost, unless God be with him.
kɔɔ Yesu nkyɛn, kɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ, yɛnim sɛ Onyankopɔn na ɔsomaa wo, ɛfiri sɛ, obiara ntumi nyɛ nsɛnkyerɛnneɛ a woyɛ yi gye sɛ Onyankopɔn ka ne ho.”
3 Jesus answered and said to him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Merema woate aseɛ sɛ, sɛ wɔanwo wo foforɔ a, worentumi nkɔ Onyankopɔn Ahennie no mu.”
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?
Nikodemo bisaa no sɛ, “Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na me abasiriwa yi, bɛtumi akɔ me maame yam ama wɔawo me bio?”
5 Jesus replied, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Yesu nso buaa no sɛ, “Mereka nokorɛ akyerɛ wo, sɛ wɔamfiri nsuo ne Honhom mu anwo obi a, ɔrentumi nkɔ Onyankopɔn Ahennie no mu.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Deɛ wɔfiri onipa mu awo no no, yɛ ɔhonam, na deɛ wɔfiri Honhom mu awo no no, yɛ honhom.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
Mma ɛnnyɛ wo nwanwa sɛ maka sɛ, ɛsɛ sɛ wɔwo wo foforɔ!
8 The wind bloweth where it will, and thou hearest the sound of it, but knowest not from whence it cometh, nor whither it goeth: just so is every one who is born of the Spirit.
Sɛdeɛ wote mframa nka, nanso wontumi nkyerɛ faako a ɛfiri ba ne faako a ɛbɔ kɔ no, saa ara na Honhom mu awoɔ no nso te.”
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
Nikodemo bisaa no sɛ, “Ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na yei aba mu?”
10 Jesus answered and said to him, Art thou a teacher of Israel, and knowest not these things?
Yesu buaa no sɛ, “Wo, ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ a wodi mu Israel na wonte yei ase?
11 Verily, verity, I tell thee, That what we know we speak, and what we have seen we affirm; and ye receive not our testimony.
Deɛ yɛnim ne deɛ yɛahunu na yɛreka akyerɛ mo yi, nanso monnye yɛn nni.
12 If I have told you of earthly things, and ye believe not, how will you believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
Sɛ meka asase yi so nsɛm kyerɛ mo na monnye nni a, ɛbɛyɛ dɛn na sɛ meka ɔsoro nsɛm kyerɛ mo a, mobɛgye adi?
13 Though no man hath ascended into heaven, except he that descended from heaven, that Son of man the I am in heaven.
Obiara nkɔɔ ɔsoro da, agye deɛ ɔfiri ɔsoro baeɛ no—Onipa Ba no.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, in like manner must the Son of man be lifted up:
Sɛdeɛ Mose maa ɔwɔ sɛso a wɔde kɔbere ayɛ asɛn dua so wɔ ɛserɛ so no, saa ara na Onipa Ba no nso wɔbɛma no so,
15 that every one who believeth on him may not perish, but have life eternal. (aiōnios )
na obiara a ɔgye me di no, ɔbɛnya nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ. (aiōnios )
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that every one who believeth in him should not perish, but have life eternal. (aiōnios )
“Na sɛdeɛ Onyankopɔn dɔɔ ewiase nie; sɛ ɔde ne Ba a ɔwoo no korɔ no maeɛ, na obiara a ɔgye no di no anyera, na mmom wanya nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ. (aiōnios )
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world by him might be saved.
Onyankopɔn ansoma ne Ba amma ewiase sɛ ɔmmɛbu ewiase atɛn, na mmom, ɔsomaa no sɛ, ɔmmɛgye ewiase nkwa.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is already under condemnation, because he hath not believed on the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Obiara a ɔgye ɔba no di no, wɔremmu no atɛn; na deɛ ɔnnye no nni no, wɔabu no atɛn dada, ɛfiri sɛ, wannye Onyankopɔn Ba korɔ no anni.
19 Now this is the condemnation, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, because their deeds were evil.
Deɛ Onyankopɔn gyina so bu atɛn ne sɛ: Hann no aba ewiase, nanso nnipa ani gye sum ho sene Hann no, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔn nneyɛeɛ nyinaa yɛ bɔne.
20 For every one whose practices are foul hateth the light, and cometh not to the light, that his actions may not be brought to conviction.
Ɔdebɔneyɛfoɔ biara mpɛ Hann no, na ɔremmɛn Hann no, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔsuro sɛ ne nneyɛeɛ bɔne no bɛda adi.
21 But he who practices the truth, cometh to the light, that his actions may be evident, as being done for God.
Na deɛ ɔyɛ Onyame apɛdeɛ no ba Hann no mu na obiara ahunu sɛ ɔyɛ Onyame apɛdeɛ.”
22 After these things Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judea; and there he abode with them, and baptised.
Yei akyi, Yesu ne nʼasuafoɔ no firii Yerusalem kɔɔ Yudea akuraa bi ase kɔtenaa hɔ kakra bɔɔ asu wɔ hɔ.
23 Now John also was baptising at Enon, near to Salem, for there were many streams of water there: and they came, and were baptised.
Saa ɛberɛ no ara na Yohane nso rebɔ asu wɔ Ainon a ɛbɛn Salim, ɛfiri sɛ, na nsuwansuwa wɔ hɔ. Nnipa pii baa ne nkyɛn ma ɔbɔɔ wɔn asu.
24 For as yet John was not cast into prison.
Saa ɛberɛ no na wɔmfaa Yohane ntoo afiase.
25 Then a dispute arose between the disciples of John and the Jews with regard to purification.
Ɛda bi, Yohane akyidifoɔ bi ne Yudani bi gyee akyinnyeɛ faa ahodwira ho.
26 And they came to John, and said to him, Rabbi, he that was with thee beyond Jordan, to whom thou gavest testimony, lo! this man baptiseth, and all men come to him.
Enti, asuafoɔ no kɔɔ Yohane nkyɛn kɔka kyerɛɛ no sɛ, “Ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ, ɔbarima bi a na ɔwɔ wo nkyɛn wɔ Yordan fa nohoa no a wodii ne ho adanseɛ no nso rebɔ asu na nnipa pii rekɔ ne nkyɛn.”
27 John answered and said, A man cannot assume any thing, except it be given him from heaven.
Yohane buaa sɛ, “Obi rentumi nni dwuma a ɛte saa gye sɛ Onyame ka ne ho.
28 Ye yourselves bear me witness, that I said, I am not the Messiah, but that I am sent before him.
Mo ara modi me adanseɛ sɛ meka kyerɛɛ mo sɛ, ‘Ɛnyɛ me ne Kristo no, na mmom, wɔasoma me adi nʼanim kane.’
29 It is the bridegroom, who possesses the bride: and the friend of the bridegroom, standing by and hearing him, rejoiceth exceedingly at the bridegroom’s voice: this my joy therefore is fulfilled.
Adamfo a ɔboa ayeforɔkunu no wɛn nʼaso twɛn no, na sɛ ɔte ne nne a, nʼani gye. Ɛno enti na mʼanigyeɛ wie pɛyɛ no.
30 He must grow great, but I diminutive.
Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ ɔkɛseɛ na me nso meyɛ ɔketewa.
31 He that cometh from above is above all: he whose origin is from earth is of the earth, and speaketh of the earth: he who cometh from heaven is above all.
“Deɛ ɔfiri ɔsoro aba no yɛ ɔkɛseɛ sene obiara; Deɛ ɔfiri asase so no yɛ wiaseni na ɔkasa sɛ wiaseni.
32 And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; though no man receiveth his testimony.
Ɔsoroni no ka deɛ wahunu ne deɛ wate, nanso obiara nnye no nni.
33 He that receiveth his testimony hath avouched that God is true.
Wɔn a wɔgye no di no di adanseɛ sɛ, Onyankopɔn yɛ ɔnokwafoɔ.
34 For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God hath not given the Spirit by measure unto him.
Deɛ Onyankopɔn asoma no no ka Onyankopɔn asɛm, ɛfiri sɛ, Onyankopɔn de ne Honhom ahyɛ no ma.
35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
Agya no dɔ ne Ba no enti ɔde biribiara so tumi ahyɛ ne nsa.
36 He that believeth on the Son hath life eternal: and he that believeth not on the Son shall not see life: but the wrath of God abideth upon him. (aiōnios )
Deɛ ɔgye Ɔba no di no bɛnya nkwa a ɛnsa da, na deɛ ɔnnye no nni no rennya nkwa a ɛnsa da, na mmom, Onyankopɔn asotwe da ne so.” (aiōnios )
