John 21
1 AFTER these things Jesus again shewed himself to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias; and he appeared in the following manner:
Después de estas cosas, Jesús se reveló de nuevo a los discípulos en el mar de Tiberias. Se reveló así.
2 Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, the twin, and Nathaniel who was of Cana of Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of the disciples were together.
Estaban juntos Simón Pedro, Tomás, llamado Dídimo, Natanael, de Caná de Galilea, y los hijos de Zebedeo, y otros dos de sus discípulos.
3 Simon Peter said to them, I am going a-fishing. They say to him, We too will go with thee. They went out, and got on board the vessel immediately; and that night they caught nothing.
Simón Pedro les dijo: “Voy a pescar”. Le dijeron: “Nosotros también vamos contigo”. Inmediatamente salieron y entraron en la barca. Aquella noche no pescaron nada.
4 But when the morning was now come, Jesus stood upon the beach: yet the disciples had not discovered that it was Jesus.
Pero cuando ya se hizo de día, Jesús se paró en la playa; pero los discípulos no sabían que era Jesús.
5 Then saith Jesus unto them, My youths, have ye any thing eatable? They answered him, No.
Entonces Jesús les dijo: “Hijos, ¿tenéis algo de comer?” Le respondieron: “No”.
6 Then he said to them, Shoot the net on the right side of the vessel, and ye shall find fish. They shot it therefore, and now they were not able to drag it in from the quantity of fishes.
Les dijo: “Echad la red a la derecha de la barca y encontraréis algunos”. Así pues, lo echaron, y entonces no pudieron sacarla por la multitud de peces.
7 Then said that disciple whom Jesus loved to Peter, It is the Lord! Then Simon Peter, when he heard that it was the Lord, girt his coat round him, (for he was stripped, ) and threw himself into the sea.
Aquel discípulo al que Jesús amaba dijo a Pedro: “¡Es el Señor!” Cuando Simón Pedro oyó que era el Señor, se envolvió con su capa (pues estaba desnudo) y se arrojó al mar.
8 And the other disciples came in the little vessel, (for they were not far from land, only about two hundred cubits, ) dragging the net with the fishes.
Pero los demás discípulos venían en la barca pequeña (pues no estaban lejos de la tierra, sino a unos doscientos codos), arrastrando la red llena de peces.
9 When therefore they were come to land, they saw a fire laid, and a fish upon it, and a loaf.
Cuando salieron a tierra, vieron allí un fuego de brasas, con peces y panes puestos sobre él.
10 Jesus saith to them, Bring some of the fish which ye have just caught.
Jesús les dijo: “Traed algunos de los peces que acabáis de pescar”.
11 Simon Peter went aboard, and drew the net to land full of large fishes, to the number of a hundred and fifty-three: and though they were so many, yet was not the net rent.
Simón Pedro subió y sacó la red a tierra, llena de ciento cincuenta y tres peces grandes. A pesar de ser tantos, la red no se rompió.
12 Jesus saith to them, Come, dine. Now not one of the disciples dared inquire, Who art thou? conscious that it was the Lord.
Jesús les dijo: “¡Vengan a desayunar!” Ninguno de los discípulos se atrevió a preguntarle: “¿Quién eres tú?”, sabiendo que era el Señor.
13 Then Jesus cometh, and taketh the loaf, and distributed to them, and of the fish in like manner.
Entonces Jesús se acercó, tomó el pan y se lo dio, y el pescado también.
14 Now this was the third time Jesus had shewed himself to the disciples, after he rose from the dead.
Esta es la tercera vez que Jesús se revela a sus discípulos después de haber resucitado.
15 When therefore they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith to him, Yes, Lord! thou knowest that I love thee. He saith to him, Feed my lambs.
Cuando hubieron desayunado, Jesús dijo a Simón Pedro: “Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me amas más que éstos?” Le dijo: “Sí, Señor; tú sabes que te tengo afecto”. Le dijo: “Apacienta mis corderos”.
16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith to him, Yes, Lord! thou knowest that I love thee. Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.
Le volvió a decir por segunda vez: “Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me amas?” Le dijo: “Sí, Señor; tú sabes que te tengo afecto”. Le dijo: “Cuida mis ovejas”.
17 He saith to him the third time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said to him, Lord, thou knowest all things, thou knowest that I love thee! Jesus saith to him, Feed my sheep.
Le dijo por tercera vez: “Simón, hijo de Jonás, ¿me tienes afecto?” Pedro se afligió porque le preguntó por tercera vez: “¿Me tienes afecto?”. Él le dijo: “Señor, tú lo sabes todo. Sabes que te tengo afecto”. Jesús le dijo: “Apacienta mis ovejas.
18 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast a younger man, thou didst gird up thyself, and go about whithersoever thy choice led thee: but when thou shalt grow old, another person extending thy hands, shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.
De cierto te digo que cuando eras joven te vestías solo y andabas por donde querías. Pero cuando seas viejo, extenderás tus manos, y otro te vestirá y te llevará donde no quieras.”
19 This he told him, to intimate by what kind of death he should glorify God. And having thus spoken, he said to him, Follow me.
Y dijo esto, dando a entender con qué clase de muerte glorificaría a Dios. Cuando hubo dicho esto, le dijo: “Sígueme”.
20 Now Peter, turning about, saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following; who also at the supper reclined on his bosom, and said, Lord, which is the person who betrayeth thee?
Entonces Pedro, volviéndose, vio que le seguía un discípulo. Este era el discípulo al que Jesús amaba, el que también se había apoyado en el pecho de Jesús en la cena y había preguntado: “Señor, ¿quién te va a entregar?”
21 Peter looking at him, saith to Jesus, Lord, and what will become of this man?
Pedro, al verlo, dijo a Jesús: “Señor, ¿y éste?”
22 Jesus saith to him, If I will that he abide till I come, what is that to thee? follow thou me.
Jesús le dijo: “Si quiero que se quede hasta que yo venga, ¿qué te importa? Sígueme”.
23 Then this speech went forth among the disciples, as though this disciple was not to die: yet Jesus had not said to him, That he shall not die; but, If I will that he abide till I come, what is that to thee?
Así pues, se difundió entre los hermanos el dicho de que este discípulo no moriría. Pero Jesús no le dijo que no moriría, sino: “Si quiero que se quede hasta que yo venga, ¿qué te importa?”
24 This is the disciple who is testifing of these things, and hath written these things: and we know that his testimony is true.
Este es el discípulo que da testimonio de estas cosas, y escribió estas cosas. Sabemos que su testimonio es verdadero.
25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if every particular was written, I am of opinion that the world itself would not be capable of retaining the books which should be written. Amen.
Hay también muchas otras cosas que hizo Jesús, que si se escribieran todas, supongo que ni el mundo mismo tendría espacio para los libros que se escribirían.
