Colossians 2
1 FOR I wish you to know how great a struggle I sustain for you, and those at Laodicea, and as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;
Porque quiero que ustedes sepan cuán grande lucha tengo por ustedes, por los que están en Laodicea y por todos los que no me han visto,
2 that their hearts may be comforted, firmly united together in love, and unto all riches of full assurance of understanding, in the knowledge of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
para que sean consolados sus corazones, unidos en amor y alcancen todas las riquezas del pleno entendimiento, a fin de que conozcan el misterio de Dios que es Cristo.
3 in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
En Él están escondidos todos los tesoros de la sabiduría y del conocimiento.
4 Now this I say, lest any man pervert you with specious discourse.
Digo esto para que nadie los engañe con lenguaje persuasivo,
5 For though I am absent from you in person, yet I am present with you in spirit, rejoicing and beholding your regular order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
porque aunque estoy ausente en el cuerpo, ciertamente estoy con ustedes en el espíritu. Me regocijo y veo su buen orden y la firmeza de su fe en Cristo.
6 As therefore ye have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in him:
Por tanto, de la manera que recibieron a Cristo Jesús el Señor, vivan en Él,
7 rooted and built up on him, and confirmed in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
arraigados y edificados en Él, establecidos en la fe como se les enseñó. Abunden en acción de gracias.
8 Beware that no man make a prey of you by means of philosophy and vain delusion, after the tradition of men, after the principles of the world, and not after Christ:
Tengan cuidado no sea que se presente alguno que los lleve como esclavos por medio de filosofías y vanas sutilezas, según la tradición de los hombres, conforme a los rudimentos del mundo y no según Cristo.
9 for in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily;
Porque en Él vive corporalmente toda la plenitud de la Deidad.
10 and ye are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power:
[Ustedes] están completos en Él, Quien es la Cabeza de todo principado y jurisdicción.
11 in whom also ye have been circumcised with the circumcision not made with hands, by the putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, through the circumcision of Christ:
En Él también fueron circuncidados por medio de la circuncisión de Cristo, no con circuncisión hecha por mano, con la remoción de la carne del cuerpo.
12 buried with him in baptism, in which also ye have been raised up together with him by faith, the energy of God, who raised him from the dead.
En el bautismo fueron sepultados y resucitados juntamente con Él por medio de la fe en la operación de Dios, Quien lo resucitó de entre [los] muertos.
13 And you, who were dead in sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened with him, freely forgiving you all trespasses;
Ustedes estaban muertos en las transgresiones y la incircuncisión de su cuerpo. Después de perdonarles todos sus delitos, les dio vida juntamente con Él.
14 and hath blotted out the handwriting in ordinances that was against us, which was the obstacle to us, and took it from the midst, nailing it to the cross;
Canceló el decreto escrito a mano que había contra nosotros, lo quitó de en medio y lo clavó en la cruz.
15 spoiling principalities and powers, he exposed them to view openly, triumphing over them on it.
Desarmó en ella a los principados y a las jurisdicciones. Al dirigir un desfile triunfal, los expuso en público y triunfó sobre ellos en la cruz.
16 Let no man therefore judge you concerning what you eat, or what you drink, or the observance of a feast, or new moon, or the sabbaths;
Nadie, pues, los juzgue en comida, ni en bebida, ni con respecto a fiesta, o luna nueva, o sábados,
17 which are merely shadows of things to come: but the body is Christ’s.
lo cual es sombra de las cosas que vienen, pero la realidad es Cristo.
18 Let no man juggle you out of your prize, voluntary in his humility and the worship of angels, intruding into things which he never saw, vainly puffed up by his carnal imagination;
Nadie los prive del galardón al deleitarse en la humillación propia y en la adoración a los ángeles, y [hablar] detalladamente lo que han visto, vanamente inflados por su mente carnal,
19 and not firmly attached to the head, from which the whole body, by joints and ligaments, harmoniously adjusted and closely compacted, increaseth with increase from God.
al no aferrarse a la Cabeza, de la cual todo el cuerpo, sustentado y unido por medio de ligamentos y coyunturas, crece con el crecimiento de Dios.
20 If then ye have been dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye dogmatically taught,
Si murieron con Cristo a los rudimentos del mundo, ¿por qué, como si estuvieran en el mundo, son sometidos a preceptos:
21 eat not, nor talk, nor touch,
no manejes, ni pruebes, ni toques,
22 (all which things tend to corruption by abuse) according to the injunctions and doctrines of men?
según los mandamientos y enseñanzas de los hombres? Todas estas cosas están destinadas a destrucción por el uso,
23 Which things indeed hold forth an appearance of wisdom in will-worship, and humility, and bodily mortification, though not of any value, but a gratification to the flesh.
las cuales ciertamente tienen reputación de sabiduría en una religión impuesta por uno mismo, en una falsa humildad y severo trato del cuerpo, [sin embargo, ] carecen de algún valor contra lo que satisface al cuerpo.
