Acts 27
1 NOW as it was determined that we should sail for Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to a centurion named Julius, of the Augustan cohort.
Eikhoi Italy-da hi tongduna chatnaba leplabada makhoina Paul amadi phadok kharabu “Ningthourel-gi Lanmi Kangbu” haina kouba adugi lanmi chamagi mapu Julius-ta sinnarammi.
2 And embarking in a ship of Adrymittium, ready to sail for the coast of Asia, we proceeded on our voyage, Aristarchus a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
Eikhoi Adramyttium-dagi hi tonglammi, hi adu Asia-gi hithangphamsingda chatnaba sem sarammi aduga eikhoi hi tongduna chatle. Macedonia-gi mi Thessalonica-dagi lakpa Aristarchus-su eikhoiga loinarammi.
3 And the next day we arrived at Sidon: and Julius treated Paul with the greatest humanity, and permitted him to go to his friends, to enjoy the benefit of their care.
Mathanggi numitta eikhoi Sidon-da thunglammi. Julius-na Paul-bu luna channa tourammi, mahakki marup mapangsingbu unaba amadi makhoina mahakki awatpasing pibibada ayaba pirammi.
4 And taking our departure from thence, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
Mapham adudagi eikhoi amuk chatlammi adubu nungsitna eikhoigi maiyokta sitpagi maramna eikhoina nungsit adudagi saphanabagidamak Cyprus ithatki marumda hi honduna chatlammi.
5 And traversing the sea opposite to Cilicia and Pamphylia, we arrived at Myra, a city of Lycia.
Eikhoina Cilicia amadi Pamphylia-gi ipak lanthoktuna Lycia-gi Myra-da thunglammi.
6 And the centurion finding there a ship of Alexandria bound for Italy, he put us on board of it.
Mapham aduda lanmi chamagi mapu aduna Italy chatkadaba Alexandria-gi hi ama phanglammi maram aduna mahakna eikhoibu hi aduda tonghallammi.
7 Then for many days making very slow way, and scarce reaching over against Knidos, the wind not favouring us, we coasted Crete, opposite Cape Salmone:
Eikhoina numit kaya marum hi adu tapna tapna hollammi aduga yamna khudong thibaga loinana Cnidus sahar naksallaklammi. Nungsitna maram oiraga eikhoi maikei aduda sangthana hi honba yahandre. Aduna eikhoina saphagadaba Crete ithatki marumda hi honthaduna Salmone lanthoklammi.
8 and weathering it with difficulty, we came to a certain place called, The fair havens; near to which is the city Lasea.
Yamna wana ipak mapan nakna nakna holaktuna eikhoi Lasea-gi sahar manakta leiba Fair Haven kouba mapham amada laklammi.
9 And much time being consumed, and sailing now becoming dangerous, because the fast was already past, Paul admonished them,
Matam yamna mangkhre. Houjikti Chara-henbagi matam adu lanthokkhre maram asina higi khongchat khudong thiningai oire. Maram aduna Paul-na makhoida cheksin wa hairak-i,
10 saying unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be attended with much damage and loss, not only of the cargo and of the ship, but danger of our lives also.
“Ibungokhoi, mapham asidagi eikhoigi khongchat asi khudong thigani; hi asida puriba potchei amadi hi asi yamna mang takpa thokkani aduga punsisingsu manggani.”
11 But the centurion paid more attention to the master and to the pilot than to the things which were spoken by Paul.
Lanmi chamagi mapu aduna Paul-na haiba wa adudagi hi adugi luchingba amasung higi mapu aduna haibana henna tarammi.
12 And the harbour not being well situated for a winter station, the greater part advised to sail from thence, if they possibly could reach as far as Phenice to pass the winter, a harbour open to the south-west and north-west.
Hithangpham adu ningthamtha lenbada khudongchaba mapham oiramde. Ayamba mina Phoenix-ta hi tongduna chatlaga mapham aduda ningthamtha lennaba yanarammi. Phoenix asi kha nongchup amasung awang nongchup onba Crete-ki hithangpham amani.
13 So when the south wind blew softly, supposing they had obtained their purpose, they weighed anchor, and kept near the coast of Crete.
Khagi nungsitna liri liri sitlakpada makhoina ninglamba adu pangthokpa yarani haina khallammi. Maram aduna makhoina hi phanaba yotki kochi adu loukhattuna yariba makhei Crete-ki mapan nakna nakna hi adu hollammi.
14 But not long after a hurricane wind, called Euroclydon, drove us towards the island,
Adubu ikui kuidana “Euroclydon” haina kouba akanba nonglei nungsit ama ithat adudagi sittharaklammi.
15 and the ship becoming ungovernable, and unable to bear up in the eye of the wind, we gave up the attempt, and let her drive.
Nonglei nungsit aduna hi adu yeirammi aduna nungsit adu maiyoknaba ngamdrabada eikhoina hotnaba toktuna nungsit aduna adum puhallammi.
16 And running under a little island called Clauda, it was with difficulty we were able to come at the boat:
Aduga Cauda kouba ithat macha adugi kharomda lanthokpada eikhoi khara sapharammi. Maduda eikhoina wana hi macha adu tekta kaidana phajinba ngamle.
17 which when they had hoisted out, they used all helps, carrying ropes round the ship’s bottom; and fearing lest they should run on the quick-sands, they lowered the mast, and so were driven.
Makhoina hi macha adu thanggatlammi aduga thouri kharana higi akoiba adu chetna laksillammi. Makhoi Libya-gi leingoi hagatpa maphamda thengjin-gadara haina kirammi maram aduna hi adugi lang-yan-phi adu chingthaduna madu nungsitna humduna puhallammi.
18 And being exceedingly tossed with the storm, we the next day threw out the cargo.
Akanba nonglei nungsit adu makha tana chattharammi maram aduna mathanggi numitta makhoina hidagi potcheising khara langthaba hourammi.
19 And the third day with our own hands we threw overboard the tackling of the vessel.
Mathanggi numitta makhoina higi mapot macheising adu hunthare.
20 So when neither sun nor stars had appeared for many days, and no small tempest beating on us, all hope of our being preserved was entirely taken from us.
Numit kayamarum numit oirasu thawanmichak oirasu eikhoina amata uba phanglamde aduga nungsit adu leptana yamna kanna sitlammi. Mameithangdadi eikhoi hinggani haibagi asa pumba thadokkhi.
21 Now after being a long while without food, then stood up Paul in the midst of them, and said, Ye ought, my friends, to have been persuaded by me, and not have sailed from Crete, and got this loss and damage.
Kana amata chaba phangdana sanglaba matam ama houkhrabada Paul-na makhoigi marakta lepkhattuna hairak-i, “Ibungokhoi, nakhoina eigi wa tabiramduna Crete-tagi hi tongduna chatlamdrabadi, eikhoina masigi amang ata pumnamak asi nanglamloidabani.
22 Yet even now I exhort you to be of good courage: for there shall be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.
Adubu houjikti eina nakhoida haijari, nathouna phou! Nakhoi kana amatagi thawai mangloi adubu hi asi khaktangdi manggani.
23 For there stood by me this night an angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
Maramdi ngarang ahing eigi mapu oibiba amasung eina thougal toujariba Tengban Mapu mahakki dut amana inakta laklaga
24 saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must stand before Caesar: and behold! God hath graciously given thee all who are sailing with thee.
hairak-i, ‘Paul, nahak kiganu! Nahak Ningthourelgi mangda lepkadabani. Tengban Mapuna nahakpu thoujanbiduna nahakka hi tongduna chatliba pumnamak Tengban Mapuna kanbire.’
25 Wherefore, sirs, cheer up: for I believe God that it will be so, exactly as he hath spoken to me.
Maram aduna ibungokhoi, thouna phou! Maramdi eingonda haikhiba adumak thokkani haina eina Tengban Mapubu thajei.
26 But we must be cast on a certain island.
Adubu eikhoina karigumba ithat amada thengjinbadi tare.”
27 Now as the fourteenth night was passing, whilst we were driving about in the Adriatic sea, about midnight the sailors imagined that some land was near to them:
Adubu taramarini suba ahing aduda Mediterranean ipakta nonglei nungsit aduna eikhoibu humduna purammi. Ahing nongyai aduwaida hiroisingna makhoi lam amada naksillakle haiba khallammi.
28 and sounding, had twenty fathoms; then passing on a little farther, and sounding again, they had fifteen fathoms.
Makhoina kayam luba thenba onduna yengbada feet chama kun lui haiba khangle makhoina khara lapthokna chatlaga amuk hanna onbada feet maraphutara lui haiba khanglammi.
29 And fearing lest they might run on some rocky coast, they cast out four anchors astern, and wished eagerly for the day to break.
Makhoina hi adu nungjaosingda thengjin-gadra haina kibadagi hirubaktagi yotki kochi mari thadarammi aduga nongngallaknaba haijarammi.
30 Now as the sailors were seeking to escape out of the ship, and had hoisted out the boat into the sea, under pretence as if they were going to carry out anchors a-head,
Adubu hiroisingna hi adudagi nanthoknaba hotnarammi; higi mamangdagi yotki kochising adu thadanaba sajinnaduna hi macha ama ipakta thadaraklammi.
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these men abide in the ship, ye cannot be preserved.
Maduda Paul-na lanmi chamagi mapu aduda amasung lanmisingda hairak-i, “Hiroising asina hida leitrabadi nakhoi kanba ngamloi.”
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
Maduda lanmising aduna hi macha adugi thourising adu kakthatlaga hi macha adu taothok-hankhre.
33 And while they waited until the day should break, Paul exhorted them all to take some nourishment, saying, To day, expecting the fourteenth day, ye are continuing without food, taking nothing.
Nongngallamdaida Paul-na makhoi pumnamakta chak chanaba insinduna hairak-i, “Nakhoina ngairakliba asi ngasi numit taramarini sure aduga numitsing asida nakhoina kari amata charaktri.
34 Wherefore I exhort you to take some food, for this is for your preservation: for a hair shall not fall from the head of any one of you.
Maram aduna nakhoi karigumba kharadi chabiyu masi nakhoi hingnanabani. Nakhoi kana amattagi nakoktagi samna ama phaoba mangloi.”
35 And so saying, and taking a loaf, he gave thanks to God before them all, and breaking it, began to eat.
Masi hairaba matungda Paul-na makhoi pumnamakki mamangda tal khara louraga Tengban Mapubu thagatlaga madu thugaiduna charammi.
36 Then were they all cheered up, and they too took refreshment.
Maduda makhoi pumnamakki pukning thougatladuna makhoinasu chare.
37 Now all the souls which were in the ship amounted to two hundred seventy-six:
Hi aduda tongliba eikhoi punna mi chani humphutaratarukni.
38 and having made a hearty meal, they lightened the vessel, throwing the wheat into the sea.
Makhoina mabuk thanna charaba matungda hidagi gehu loina ipakta hunthaduna hi adu yang-hallammi.
39 And when the day broke, they knew not the land: but they observed a certain creek with a beach, into which they resolved, if they could, to run the vessel aground.
Nongngallabada makhoina lam adu kari lamno haiba khangba ngamlamde; adubu makhoina leingoigi ipak mapan adu urammi aduna ngamlabadi hi adu honjin-ge haina leplammi.
40 And weighing the anchors, they committed her to the sea, and loosing at the same time the chains of the rudders, and hoisting the foresail to the breeze, they made for the beach.
Makhoina yotki kochising adu kakthattuna ipakta lupphankhre, aduga himai chumnaba nousing punba thourising adu louthokle aduga hi adu nungsitna mamangda humlaknaba hi adugi mamanggi lang-yan-phi adu chingkhatlammi. Aduga eikhoi torbanlomda pusilaklammi.
41 But falling on a shoal where two currents met, they ran the ship aground; and the forecastle stuck fast, and remained immoveable, but the stern was stove in by the violence of the waves.
Hi adu leingoigi lamda thengjillammi. Hi adugi mamang thangba saruk yeisinbada lengba yadre aduga maning thangba aduna akanba ithak ipomna yeibadagi machet machet kaire.
42 Then the soldiers’ design was to have murdered the prisoners, lest any of them should swim ashore and escape.
Phadoksing aduna iroiduna nanthokkhidanaba haiduna lanmising aduna makhoibu hatnanaba thourang tourammi.
43 But the centurion, desirous to preserve Paul, withheld them from their purpose, and commanded those who were able to swim to jump overboard first, and reach the land:
Adubu lanmi chamagi mapu aduna Paul-bu kanningduna makhoigi thourang adu pangthoktanaba khamle, aduga iroiba ngamba makhoisingna hanna chongthaduna kangphalda chatnaba yathang pirammi.
44 and that the rest should make the attempt, some on planks, and some on the floating materials of the ship: and in this manner so it was that they all safely reached the shore.
Leihoubasing aduna higi upaksing amasung madugi akaiba machetsing aduda pairaga taoduna kangphalda thungnaba mahakna yathang pikhi. Matou asumna eikhoi pumnamak kangphalda asoi angam leitana thunglammi.
