< 2 Timothy 2 >

1 THOU therefore, my son, be mighty in the grace which is in Jesus Christ.
Na wo Timoteo, me ba, Kristo Yesu yɛ mmɔborɔhunufoɔ, enti ma ɔnhyɛ wo den.
2 And the things which thou hast heard of me before many witnesses, these commit to faithful men, who shall be qualified to teach others also.
Fa nsɛm a wotee sɛ mereka akyerɛ adansedifoɔ bebree no, na fa hyɛ nnipa a wogye wɔn di na wɔbɛtumi akyerɛ afoforɔ nso nsa.
3 Thou therefore endure hardships, as a brave soldier of Jesus Christ.
Sɛ amanehunu ba wo so a, mia wʼani tena sɛ Kristo Yesu sraani pa.
4 No man who enters the army involves himself with secular affairs; that he may please the person who hath enlisted him.
Ɔsraani mfa ne ho nhyehyɛ afisɛm mu, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔpɛ sɛ ɔsɔ ne panin ani.
5 And if a man contend in the public games, he is not crowned victor, unless he contend according to the laws.
Saa ara nso na obi a ɔfra akansie mu a ɔtu mmirika no rentumi nni nkonim gye sɛ ɔdi akansie no mmara so.
6 The husbandman who toils is the first who ought to partake of the fruits.
Okuafoɔ a wadɔ nʼafuo no, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔnya mu nnɔbaeɛ a ɛdi ɛkan no.
7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things.
Dwene nsɛm a mereka yi ho ɛfiri sɛ, Awurade bɛma woate biribiara ase.
8 Remember that Jesus Christ of the seed of David was raised from the dead, according to my gospel:
Kae Dawid aseni Yesu Kristo a wɔnyanee no firii awufoɔ mu sɛdeɛ wɔkaa no Asɛmpa a mekaa ho asɛm no mu no.
9 for which I suffer affliction, even unto chains as a malefactor; but the word of God is not bound.
Esiane sɛ meka Asɛmpa no enti, mehunu amane, mpo, wɔagu me nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn sɛ ɔdebɔneyɛfoɔ. Nanso, Onyankopɔn asɛm no ngu nkɔnsɔnkɔnsɔn mu;
10 Therefore I endure all things for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Jesus Christ with eternal glory. (aiōnios g166)
na yei enti, biribiara a ɛbɛba me so no, ɛsiane Onyankopɔn nnipa a wayi wɔn no enti, megyina ano, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a wɔn nso bɛnya nkwagyeɛ ne animuonyam a ɛnni awieeɛ a ɛwɔ Kristo Yesu mu no. (aiōnios g166)
11 It is a faithful saying: for if we be dead with him, we shall also live with him:
Nsɛm a ɛsɛ sɛ wode wo ho to so nie: “Sɛ yɛne no wuiɛ a, yɛne no bɛtena ase.
12 if we suffer with him, we shall also reign with him: if we renounce him, he also will renounce us:
Sɛ yɛampa aba a, yɛne no bɛdi ɔhene. Sɛ yɛpa no a, ɔno nso bɛpa yɛn.
13 if we are unbelieving, he abideth faithful; he cannot contradict himself.
Sɛ yɛnnyɛ nokwafoɔ a, ɔno deɛ, ɔyɛ ɔnokwafoɔ, ɛfiri sɛ, ɔrensesa nʼasɛm.”
14 Put them in mind of these things, adjuring them before the Lord not to quarrel about words of no use, but tending to the perversion of the audience.
Monkae mo nkurɔfoɔ wɔ yei ho na mommɔ wɔn kɔkɔ wɔ Onyame anim sɛ wɔnnni wɔn ho akasakasa. Ɛmfa asɛm pa mma. Sɛ wɔyɛ saa a, ɛsɛe atiefoɔ no adwene.
15 Be diligent to present thyself before God approved, a workman that need not blush, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Bɔ mmɔden sɛ wobɛyɛ odwumayɛfoɔ a womfɛre Onyankopɔn adwuma no yɛ ho, na kyerɛ nokorɛ a ɛwɔ Onyankopɔn asɛm no mu no, na woafata nʼanim.
16 But profane vain bablings avoid: for they will proceed to greater lengths of impiety.
Twe wo ho firi nsɛnhuhuo a ɛho nte ho ɛfiri sɛ, ɛno na ɛpam nnipa firi Onyankopɔn ho.
17 And their discourse will eat like as a gangrene; of whom are Hymeneus and Philetus;
Deɛ wɔkyerɛ no te sɛ akusikuro a ɛdidi fa honam no ani. Saa akyerɛkyerɛfoɔ yi mu baanu ne Himeneo ne Fileto.
18 who with respect to the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection hath been already; and pervert the faith of some.
Wɔamane afiri nokorɛ no ho na wɔka kyerɛ agyidifoɔ bi sɛ, yɛn wusɔreɛ no atwam dada, na wɔnam saa asɛm no so sɛe wɔn adwene.
19 Nevertheless the stable foundation of God standeth firm, having this seal, the Lord knoweth those who belong to him. And, let every man who mentions the name of the Lord depart from unrighteousness.
Nanso, obi rentumi nhinhim fapem denden a Onyankopɔn ato no, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔatwerɛ saa nsɛm yi wɔ so: “Awurade nim wɔn a wɔyɛ ne deɛ,” na “Obiara a ɔka sɛ ɔyɛ Awurade dea no, ɛsɛ sɛ ɔtwe ne ho firi bɔne ho.”
20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and pottery; and some for an honourable use, and others for baser service.
Nkuku ne nkaka wɔ efi kɛseɛ mu. Ebi wɔ hɔ a wɔde dwetɛ na ayɛ, ebi nso wɔde sika kɔkɔɔ na ayɛ. Wɔde dua na ayɛ bi na afoforɔ nso wɔde dɔteɛ. Ebi wɔ hɔ a ɛwɔ hɔ ma nnapɔnna bi na afoforɔ nso daa wɔde di dwuma.
21 If therefore a man preserve himself pure from these things, he shall be a vessel for honour, sanctified and highly useful to the master, ready for every good work.
Sɛ obi te ne ho firi saa nneɛma bɔne no ho a, wɔde no bɛyɛ nnwuma sononko ɛfiri sɛ, watu ne ho asi hɔ, asiesie ne ho ama ne wura sɛ dwuma pa biara a ɛsɛ sɛ ɔdi no, ɔbɛdi.
22 But flee youthful passions, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace, with those who call upon the Lord out of a pure heart.
Dwane firi mmeranteberɛ mu akɔnnɔ, na ti nneɛma a ɛho teɛ te sɛ: tenenee, gyidie, ɔdɔ ne asomdwoeɛ a ɛka wo ne wɔn a wɔfiri akoma pa mu bom frɛ Awurade ma ɔboa no akyi.
23 But foolish and uninstructive disputes avoid, knowing that they produce quarrels.
Mfa wo ho nhyehyɛ nkwasea akyinnyeɛ a ɛmfa hwee mma no mu, ɛfiri sɛ, ɛde akasakasa ba.
24 And a servant of the Lord ought not to quarrel; but to be gentle to all men, apt to teach, forbearing,
Ɛnsɛ sɛ Awurade ɔsomfoɔ ne obi nya akasakasa. Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ ayamyɛ ma obiara. Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ ɔkyerɛkyerɛfoɔ pa a ɔwɔ boasetɔ nso
25 with meekness correcting those who are opposers, if at last God may give unto them repentance so as to submit to the conviction of the truth;
a sɛ wɔn a wɔne no di asie fom a, ɔto ne bo ase tene wɔn so, sɛ ebia, Onyankopɔn bɛsakyera wɔn adwene na wɔahunu nokorɛ no.
26 and that they may escape out of the snare of the devil, who have been captured by him for his will.
Na wɔn adwene mu ada hɔ na wɔadwane afiri ɔbonsam a wakyekyere wɔn ama wɔyɛ nʼapɛdeɛ no afidie mu.
