2 Peter 1
1 SIMON Peter, the servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, to those who have obtained with us the same precious faith by the righteousness of our God and Saviour Jesus Christ:
SIMON Pedro, siervo y apóstol de Jesu-Cristo, á los que habeis alcanzado fé igualmente preciosa con nosotros en la justicia de nuestro Dios y Salvador Jesu-Cristo.
2 grace unto you and peace be multiplied through the knowledge of God, even Jesus our Lord,
Gracia y paz os sean multiplicadas en el conocimiento de Dios, y de nuestro Señor Jesus.
3 as his divine power hath freely given us all things tending to life and godliness, through the acknowledgment of him who hath called us to glory and fortitude:
Como todas las cosas que [pertenecen] á la vida y á la piedad nos sean dadas de su divina potencia, por el conocimiento de aquel que nos ha llamado por su gloria y virtud:
4 whereby superlatively great and precious promises are freely given to us: that by these ye might become partakers of a divine nature, having fled far away from the corruption that is in the world through inordinate concupiscence.―
Por las cuales nos son dadas preciosas y grandísimas promesas, para que por ellas fueseis hechos participantes de la naturaleza divina, habiendo huido de la corrupcion que está en el mundo por concupiscencia;
5 And for this very purpose employing the greatest diligence, lead up in the train of your faith courage; and with courage intelligence;
Vosotros tambien, poniendo toda diligencia por esto mismo, mostrad en vuestra fé virtud, y en la virtud ciencia;
6 and with intelligence moderation; and with moderation patience; and with patience piety;
Y en la ciencia templanza, y en la templanza paciencia; y en la paciencia temor de Dios;
7 and with piety fraternal affection; and with fraternal affection love.
Y en el temor de Dios, amor fraternal; y en el amor fraternal, caridad.
8 For if these things are in your possession, and abounding, they will render you neither inactive nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Porque si en vosotros hay estas cosas, y abundan, no os dejarán estar ociosos ni estériles en el conocimiento de nuestro Señor Jesu-Cristo.
9 But he that hath no possession of these things, is blind, dim-sighted, sinking into oblivion of his purification from the sins of his former days.
Mas el que no tiene estas cosas, es ciego, y tiene la vista muy corta, habiendo olvidado la purificacion de sus antiguos pecados.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make sure your calling and election: for by doing these things, ye shall never at any time stumble:
Por lo cual, hermanos, procurad tanto mas de hacer firme vuestra vocacion y eleccion; porque haciendo estas cosas, no caeréis jamás.
11 but an entrance will thus be richly afforded you into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. (aiōnios g166)
Porque de esta manera os será abundantemente administrada la entrada en el reino eterno de nuestro Señor y Salvador Jesu-Cristo. (aiōnios g166)
12 Wherefore I will not be negligent continually to remind you of these things, though ye know them, and are established in the present truth.
Por esto yo no dejaré de amonestaros siempre de estas cosas, aunque vosotros las sepais, y esteis confirmados en la verdad presente.
13 Indeed, I think it right, as long as I am in this frail tabernacle, to rouse up your attention by reminding you:
Porque tengo por justo, en tanto que estoy en este tabernáculo, de incitaros con amonestacion;
14 knowing that the deposition of this frail tabernacle of mine is hastily approaching, as our Lord Jesus Christ hath made evident to me.
Sabiendo que brevemente tengo de dejar [este] mi tabernáculo, como nuestro Señor Jesu-Cristo me ha declarado.
15 I will endeavour then that even after my decease, ye may always have wherewith to preserve the remembrance of these things.
Tambien yo procuraré con diligencia, que despues de mi fallecimiento, vosotros podais siempre tener memoria de estas cosas.
16 For we have not followed artfully devised fables, when we made known to you the power and advent of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eye-witnesses of his majesty.
Porque no os hemos dado á conocer la potencia y la venida de nuestro Señor Jesu-Cristo, siguiendo fábulas por arte compuestas; sino como habiendo con nuestros propios ojos visto su majestad.
17 For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when such a voice was sent forth to him from the transcendently magnificent glory, This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.
Porque él habia recibido de Dios Padre honra y gloria, cuando una tal voz fué á él enviada de la magnífica gloria: Este es el amado^ Hijo mio, en el cual yo me he agradado.
18 And this voice we heard coming out of heaven, when we were with him on the holy mountain.
Y nosotros oimos esta voz enviada del cielo, cuando estábamos juntamente con él en el monte santo.
19 And we hold the prophetic word more confirmed, to which ye do well to attend, as to a lamp shining in a dark passage, until the day dawn, and the morning-star arise upon your hearts.
Tenemos tambien la palabra profética más permanente, á la cual haceis bien de estar atentos como á una antorcha que alumbra en lugar oscuro, hasta que el dia esclarezca, y el lucero de la mañana salga en vuestros corazones.
20 Knowing this in the first place, that all scriptural prophecy is not from any man’s own suggestions.
Entendiendo primero esto, que ninguna profecía de la escritura es de particular interpretacion:
21 For prophecy in old time came not by the will of man: but the holy men of God spake under the impulse of the Holy Ghost.
Por que la profecía no fué en los tiempos pasados traida por voluntad humana, sino los santos hombres de Dios hablaron siendo inspirados del Espíritu Santo.
