2 Corinthians 7
1 HAVING therefore these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
പ്രിയസ്നേഹിതരേ, ഈ വാഗ്ദാനങ്ങൾ നമുക്കു നൽകപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നതിനാൽ ശരീരത്തെയും ആത്മാവിനെയും മലിനമാക്കുന്ന എല്ലാറ്റിൽനിന്നും നമ്മെത്തന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് ദൈവഭക്തിയിലൂടെ വിശുദ്ധിയുടെ പരിപൂർണതയിലെത്തിച്ചേരാം.
2 Give us a favourable reception: we have injured no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.
നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഇടം നൽകുക. ഞങ്ങൾ ആരോടും അന്യായം പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിട്ടില്ല. ആരെയും വഴിതെറ്റിച്ചിട്ടില്ല, ആരെയും ചൂഷണം ചെയ്തിട്ടുമില്ല.
3 I speak not for your condemnation, for I have already said, that ye are in our hearts to die and live together.
നിങ്ങളെ കുറ്റം വിധിക്കാനല്ല ഞാൻ ഇതു പറയുന്നത്. ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടൊപ്പം ജീവിക്കാനും മരിക്കാനും ഒരുക്കമാണ്; അത്രമാത്രം ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെ സ്വന്തം ഹൃദയങ്ങളിൽ പ്രതിഷ്ഠിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നെന്നു ഞാൻ മുമ്പേ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടല്ലോ.
4 Great is my freedom of speech to you, great is my glorying over you: I am filled with consolation, I overflow with joy in all our tribulation.
എനിക്കു നിങ്ങളിൽ പരിപൂർണവിശ്വാസമുണ്ട്. നിങ്ങളെ സംബന്ധിച്ച് ഞാൻ അത്യന്തം അഭിമാനിക്കുന്നു. ഞാൻ വളരെ പ്രോത്സാഹിതനായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞങ്ങളുടെ കഷ്ടതകളിലെല്ലാം നിങ്ങളെ ഓർക്കുമ്പോൾ എനിക്ക് അളവറ്റ ആനന്ദം ഉണ്ട്.
5 For when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were afflicted on every side; without were fightings; within were fears.
മക്കദോന്യയിൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങളുടെ ശരീരത്തിന് ഒരു സ്വസ്ഥതയും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല; പുറമേ സംഘർഷവും ഉള്ളിൽ ഭയവും വരുംവിധം എല്ലാത്തരത്തിലും പീഡനമാണുണ്ടായത്.
6 But God that comforteth the lowly comforted us by the coming of Titus:
എങ്കിലും എളിയവരെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദൈവം, തീത്തോസിന്റെ വരവിനാൽ ഞങ്ങളെ ആശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചു.
7 and not by his coming only, but also by the consolation wherewith he had been comforted among you, declaring to us your fervent desire, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced the more.
അയാളുടെ വരവുമാത്രമല്ല, നിങ്ങൾ അയാൾക്കു നൽകിയ ആശ്വാസവും ഞങ്ങളുടെ ആശ്വാസത്തിനു കാരണമായിത്തീർന്നു. എന്നെ കാണാനുള്ള നിങ്ങളുടെ അഭിവാഞ്ഛയും തീവ്രദുഃഖവും എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള അതീവതാത്പര്യവും അയാൾ ഞങ്ങളെ അറിയിച്ചു. അങ്ങനെ എന്റെ ആനന്ദം അധികം വർധിച്ചു.
8 For if I grieved you by a letter, I do not repent, though I did repent: for I perceive that this letter made you sorry, though but for a season.
എന്റെ ലേഖനത്താൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ ദുഃഖിപ്പിച്ചു; അതിൽ എനിക്കു ഖേദം തൊന്നിയിരുന്നെങ്കിലും ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ അതെക്കുറിച്ച് ഖേദിക്കുന്നില്ല. ആ ലേഖനം നിങ്ങളെ അൽപ്പസമയത്തേക്കു മുറിപ്പെടുത്തി എന്നു ഞാൻ മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നു.
9 Now I rejoice, not that ye have been made sorrowful, but that ye have sorrowed unto repentance; for ye have been made sorry in a godly manner, that ye might receive damage from us in nothing.
എന്നാൽ, ഇപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ ദുഃഖിച്ചതിലല്ല, ആ ദുഃഖം നിങ്ങളെ മാനസാന്തരത്തിലേക്കു നയിച്ചു എന്നതിലാണ് എന്റെ ആനന്ദം. ദൈവഹിതപ്രകാരം നിങ്ങൾ അനുതപിച്ചതിനാൽ ഞങ്ങൾമൂലം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഒരു നഷ്ടവും ഉണ്ടായില്ല.
10 For sorrow of a godly sort worketh repentance unto salvation never to be repented of, but worldly sorrow worketh death.
ദൈവഹിതപ്രകാരമുള്ള അനുതാപം രക്ഷയിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്ന മാനസാന്തരം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; അതിനെപ്പറ്റി ഖേദിക്കേണ്ടിവരുന്നില്ല. എന്നാൽ, ലൗകികമായ അനുതാപം മരണത്തിലേക്കു നയിക്കുന്നതാണ്.
11 For behold this very thing, that ye were made sorry after a godly manner, how great diligence did it produce in you! yea, what apologizing! yea, what indignation! yea, what fear! yea, what earnest desire! yea, what zeal! yea, what vengeance! In every step ye have approved yourselves as pure in this affair.
ദൈവികമായ ഈ ദുഃഖം നിങ്ങളിൽ ഉത്സാഹം, നിരപരാധിത്വം തെളിയിക്കാനുള്ള ശുഷ്കാന്തി, ധാർമികരോഷം, ഭയം, അഭിവാഞ്ഛ, തീക്ഷ്ണത, നീതിബോധം തുടങ്ങിയവയെല്ലാം എത്രയധികം ഉളവാക്കി എന്നറിയുക. ഇവയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ നിഷ്കളങ്കരെന്നു സ്വയം തെളിയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.
12 And indeed though I wrote unto you, I did it not merely for his cause that had done the wrong, nor for his cause who had suffered the injury, but that our diligent attention for you might be more abundantly manifested to you in the presence of God.
ഞാൻ ആ കത്ത് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് എഴുതിയത് ആ ദ്രോഹം പ്രവർത്തിച്ച വ്യക്തിയെയോ ദ്രോഹം സഹിച്ച വ്യക്തിയെയോ ഉദ്ദേശിച്ച് ആയിരുന്നില്ല; പിന്നെയോ, ഞങ്ങളോടു നിങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള സ്നേഹാദരങ്ങൾ എത്രയെന്നു ദൈവസന്നിധിയിൽ, നിങ്ങൾക്കുതന്നെ കണ്ടു മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻവേണ്ടി ആയിരുന്നു.
13 Therefore we were comforted in your consolation; and exceeding abundantly the more rejoiced we in the joy of Titus, because his spirit was refreshed by you all.
ഇതെല്ലാം ഞങ്ങളെ ധൈര്യപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു. ഞങ്ങൾക്കു ലഭിച്ച പ്രോത്സാഹനത്തിനു പുറമേ, നിങ്ങൾ തീത്തോസിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തെ സമാശ്വസിപ്പിച്ചതിലൂടെ അവനുണ്ടായ ആനന്ദത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങളും അത്യന്തം ആനന്ദിച്ചു.
14 For if I have boasted of you to him in any thing, I am not ashamed; but as we have spoken all things to you in truth, so our boasting of you to Titus hath been found truth.
ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പ്രശംസാപൂർവം അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു ലജ്ജിക്കാൻ ഇടവരുത്തിയില്ല. ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിച്ചതെല്ലാം സത്യമായിരുന്നതുപോലെ, തീത്തോസിനോടു നിങ്ങളെപ്പറ്റി പ്രശംസിച്ചതും സത്യമെന്നു തെളിഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
15 And his bowels more abundantly yearn over you, when he remembers the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling ye received him.
നിങ്ങൾ എത്ര അനുസരണയുള്ളവരായിരുന്നെന്നും എത്ര ഭയത്തോടും വിറയലോടും കൂടെയാണു നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ സ്വീകരിച്ചതെന്നും ഓർക്കുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങളോടുള്ള അവന്റെ സ്നേഹം വളരെ വർധിക്കുന്നു.
16 I rejoice therefore that in every thing I have confidence in you.
അങ്ങനെ എനിക്ക് നിങ്ങളിൽ പരിപൂർണവിശ്വാസമർപ്പിക്കാൻ കഴിയുമെന്നതിൽ ഞാൻ ആനന്ദിക്കുന്നു.
